It's that time of year again, the time that our faithful heroes Jef, Josh and Brian put their lives on the line to celebrate "GNARVEMBER"! The time of year to choose a film that fully emcompasses both hard rock and horror! This time around the FM3 find themselves elbow deep once again in a Full Moon Production, Produced by good old Chuck band and directed by his accomplice Ted Nicolaou. On paper this movie screams "GNARVEMBER", however in execution there might be some debate as to how much this movie actually shreds. Do yourself a favor, hit play and get ready for a spirited chat about this year's hard rock hullabaloo 1992's "Bad Channels"!
Why Full Moon didn't do a compilation called Short Movies For Short Monsters, we may never know, but if Chucky Band wants to get in on that IP, he has our number. And if he does come to his senses, we just know he'll kick off his comp with 1993's DOLLMAN VS. DEMONIC TOYS. Coming in at a diminutive 64 minute runtime, with at least half of the scenes pulled from DOLLMAN (1991), DEMONIC TOYS (1992) and BAD CHANNELS (1992), this is barely a feature film, but at least it doesn't overstay its welcome. Get down on our level and see what a foot-high alien cop does when a foul-mouthed baby doll tries to have its way with his girlfriend (also one foot tall). It's all very confusing. We're revisiting the Full Moon Cinematic Universe this week with DOLLMAN VS. DEMONIC TOYS, a crossover event meant to be a soft launch for an attempted shared universe. We're joined by return guest Ivotres Littles of Horror Movies and Beyond as we explore this odd flick that assembles characters from DOLLMAN, DEMONIC TOYS, and BAD CHANNELS. With musical score by the one and only Blue Oyster Cult, with additional music by: Joker, Fair Game, Sykotik Sinfoney, and DMT.

On our show, "Howling At The Full Moon", we're going with something a little on the controversial side of things with a film that is highly contested by many Full Moon fans deep from within the Paramount days with our 35th episode and the 1993 effort "DOLLMAN VS DEMONIC TOYS." Directed by Charles Band himself and starring Tim Thomerson, Tracey Scoggins, Melissa Behr and Phil Fondacaro. Dollman vs Demonic Toys was the huge super-ultra-mega crossover flick that tied up some loose ends from Dollman, Bad Channels, and Demonic Toys. Some feel this was the greatest crossover event in the history of film and others...not so much. Join our discussion headed off by our regular hosts Cameron Scott and Full Moon enthusiast Dustin Hubbard as they debate and talk about their general love for this movie. "Pop goes the weasel."

In 1987, their cover of "Rock N Roll Outlaw" was featured in the movie "Dudes." A sixth album Back In Action (1998) consisted of unreleased demos; the band reunited in 2008 and toured to celebrate their 25th anniversary. In 1990, Ron Keel formed the band Fair Game, a project Keel fronted with four female backup musicians. Two of the songs recorded by the band were featured on the soundtrack to the movie Bad Channels. Their complete recording sessions finally emerged in 2000 on the Metal Mayhem label billed as Beauty & The Beast. An alien lifeform infects the airways of a local radio station, and only one shock jock can stop them from sucking unsuspecting victims into full-length music videos! That's right, it's BAD CHANNELS, the wacky sci-fi/comedy/musical from Ted Nicolaou! We're excited to be joined by British podcasting great Becky Darke to dig into to this film's wild take on MTV, and it's failed attempts at bridging the gap to other Full Moon features. Directed by Steve Barron, the movie revolves around Beldar (Dan Aykroyd) and Prymaat (Jane Curtin), two extraterrestrial beings known as Coneheads who crash-land on Earth. Adapted from the iconic SNL characters, the film masterfully combines humor, wit, and a heartwarming story. As Beldar and Prymaat struggle to fit into the human world, they adopt the surname "Conehead" and attempt to lead a typical American life in suburban New Jersey. With their distinctive cone-shaped heads, they garner attention and curiosity from those around them. However, their peculiar behaviors, M-shaped "removable" teeth, and the challenges of adapting to human customs make for uproarious situations. The movie takes a comedic turn when the couple's daughter, Connie (played by Michelle Burke), is born with a perfectly shaped human head. As the Conehead family finds themselves in danger of being discovered by the Men in Black-like agency, the Immigration and Naturalization Service, they must confront their own conceptions of identity and protect their daughter from an uncertain fate. With its hilarious moments, tongue-in-cheek commentary on immigration, and spot-on performances by Aykroyd, Curtin, and a talented ensemble cast, "Coneheads" remains a cult classic. The film manages to be both absurdly funny and charmingly relatable, reminding us of the importance of embracing our differences and finding a sense of belonging, no matter our origin.More on BAD CHANNELS (1992):In the wacky world of B-movies, "Bad Channels" holds a unique place as a 1992 sci-fi horror musical that defies all expectations. Directed by infamous B-movie maestros, Ted Nicolaou and Charles Band, this cult classic takes viewers on a mind-bending journey into an otherworldly television station where chaotic madness unfolds. The film revolves around a demented alien broadcaster named Vernon Locknut, who possesses the ability to abduct and control human's minds through their television screens. When a small town's radio station, KDUL, is purchased by the mysterious Channels Unlimited, things take a wild turn. Vernon Locknut and his mischievous minions hijack the airwaves, turning the channel into a portal for abductions. As the townspeople become entranced and drawn into their televisions, it's up to a resourceful DJ named Dan O'Dare, the station's program manager, and an eccentric tabloid reporter, Lisa Cummings, to put a stop to the mind-control madness."Bad Channels" immerses viewers in a bizarre blend of genres. From alien invasions and body snatching

Tune your satellite dish into the All Things Are Possible Network. It’s so easy to get off track with your day. You wake up and immediately get bombarded with social media, news, and responsibilities. If you don’t get your mind right, you might be absorbing negativity and passing it on to everyone you interact with that day. I know there have been times where I’ve bought something at a convenience store and let my bad day affect the way I’ve treated a cashier. So, how can we make a positive impact on the world instead of “spreading bad seeds?” For this Five Minute Friday, I revisited a conversation I had with Tim Storey where he shared how he is able to “shift his satellite dish” so that it’s picking up good channels instead of bad ones. Tim Storey is a self-help author, motivational speaker, pastor, and founder of Tim Storey Kids Foundation. For the past 10 years, Tim has served as an adviser to leaders and celebrities like Robert Downey Jr., Kanye West, Christian Slater and more. Like Tim says in this episode, “Every day we start with a bag of seeds.” We can either spread bad ones or good ones. Learn how to keep your thoughts trained on positivity and quiet your fears in Episode 690. n This Episode You Will Learn: The way to combat fear (00:40) Why meditation is helpful (1:40) What Tim does in the morning to stay balanced (3:00) How to spread positivity throughout your day (4:30)

This is the shortest movie we’ve ever reviewed, but does combining low-budget movie universes redeem it? […]

Why radio station horror? Because George is a radio DJ and Hope is in the mood to scare him. You might be surprised by how many films use the idea of a radio station DJ for horror. Most of these films are not very good – Dead Air, The Severed Arm, Bad Channels, yes, even Rob Zombie’s Lords of Salem. Not good. But other films manage to mine the public exposure and personal vulnerability of an on air DJ to excellent effect, generating an anxious terror that can fuel a whole film. Here are our five personal favorites.
This week Branden provided an entertaining double feature of 80s horror cheese. The movies have very little in common beyond the time period and general low budget goodness. That said, both are solid editions to the Bcast family. Please to enjoy.
Another Record Store Day has come and gone. While it still draws big crowds to record stores, we've heard and read some grumbling that RSD has been largely hijacked by major label product. We discuss our opinions on this and check out tracks from some of the RSD releases we picked up, such as: 70s kiwi boogie glam by Bitch. Todd Snider covering The Rolling Stones and Flaming Lips covering David Bowie. Two killer 45s on Goner by Giorgio Murderer and Aquarian Blood. And the soundtrack to a B-movie called Bad Channels which features Blue Oyster Cult and some yodel polka (mutually exclusive, of course). Also: Slaxxx's cousin Fleetwood Bong shows up at the mention of the recent SB4E 420 mixtape. The Colonel is quite amused. Bobby Hazzard is much less so.
