On the third episode of The Panzer Podcast we will discuss in detail the final preparations and modifications made just prior to sending the new Panzerkampfwagen V 'Panther' Ausf. D, Sd.Kfz. 171 to the Eastern Front. Once there, we will get into the details of Operation Citadel and just how well or, not so well, the new Panther tanks would do against a determined defense. We detail the actions of July 5 - July 20 1943 for Panzer-Regiment 39 "von Lauchert" and within, the two Panzer-Abteilungen 51 & 52 (Panther Abteilungen). Further details include the Kriegsstärtkenachweisung (K.St.N. [TO&E]) of the new Panther units as well as plenty of contemporary, and first-hand accounts of how the battle went for these particular units at Kursk and the surrounding areas. Wesley was staying back and forth between three friends' homes in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego. He went missing on June12, 2018. My guest today was amazing to talk with! I want to introduce Vonshan Billingsly. Vonshan is a black American. A father, husband, brother, son and friend. He is also a recovering addict. He and his wife, Nicole (also a recovering addict), own and operate Nivon Wellness Center, The Center for Healing. They have both been clean for 8 years and Nicole is about to earn her doctorate degree! They help treat folks with substance abuse and mental health issues at their two locations in the St. Paul area in Minnesota. You’re about to hear a conversation I had with Vonshan concering the racial divide we are seeing in the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by a police officer here in Minneapolis. Vonshan and I wanted to have a real and open conversation about race and racism. What follows is an extraordinary civil discourse between two men.
