In this episode, I speak with Tim McGavin, Founder and Managing Director of Laguna Bay, one of the largest privately owned agricultural investment funds globally.    Reflecting on his farming background and extensive career, we explore life growing up on a station west of Barcaldine, QLD alongside his ‘bushy' father and family. We explore Tim's early years through school, his journey into agriculture and the intriguing and unique pathway he has taken to achieve significant success within our industry.    Our conversation touches on the pivotal role of Marcus Oldham in shaping the next generation of Australian agricultural leaders. We explore its innovative approach to education, its extensive Alumni network and its influential impact on the industry.    Importantly, we speak of Marcus Minds, a new initiative developed to help farm owners learn the key principles of high performance. This collaboration between Laguna Bay and Marcus Oldham draws upon the expertise of leading specialists and focuses on helping people overcome personal challenges, pursuing mindset mastery, pathways for self-development, a higher quality of life and building resilience.    Much like the personal development and entrepreneurial principles taught at Farm Owners Academy, Marcus Minds is bringing an important new way of thinking and leading into our industry.     Tim and I both acknowledge that farming can be a lonely and challenging environment in which to live and operate. Yet, we agree that to achieve the highest level, we must first master the mind.    To quote Tim, “I've learnt that if you get the inside right, the outside falls into place.”    Marcus Minds is a free resource available to all, and I recommend checking it out.    Congratulations Tim, on your pioneering of this project and congratulations on a fascinating career. Thank you for sharing your story and insights for success in this conversation so openly.     And thank you for helping us highlight the great work of both Marcus Minds and Marcus Oldham Agricultural College in supporting excellence in Australian agriculture.    And what a story it is.    Jeremy Hutchings & the Farm Owners Academy Team

Ann and Barbara Untangling on The Living Process with Greg Madison. Episode 22  I am excited to launch the new season of The Living Process with guests Barbara McGavin and Ann Weiser Cornell, a very well-known partnership within the Focusing world and beyond. Barbara and Ann are both accomplished Focusing teachers, having developed the model of Inner Relationship Focusing and Treasure Maps to the Soul,  but they are also writers and in this episode, we talk about their first book together, Untangling. Untangling offers a very helpful description of the experience of being caught within some of life's most difficult and stuck patterns. The book then offers some specific skills and attitudes we can develop to help us release even these seemingly intractable dilemmas.   In this episode, we talk about how we get stuck inside of 'a tangle' and how we cannot solve or think our way out of it. Many of us can spend our lives within tangles, with no full sense of who we are. We talk about how these tangles always involve other people and how the key to loosening their grip is to develop 'self in presence'. Tangles are seen as a stoppage in process not a problem in understanding. It is a fascinating take on felt sensing and working with parts which I am sure Focusing people and those new to experiential approaches will find valuable.  Barbara McGavin and Ann Weiser Cornell have been discovering the processes of change that became Untangling® since 1994. Since then they've had the pleasure of offering Untangling® retreats and online classes for people seeking transformation all over the world. They are also the co-developers of Inner Relationship Focusing. Barbara has a background in humanistic psychology, teaching, fine art, and graphic design. Ann has a background in linguistics and humanistic psychology. They are both Coordinators with The International Focusing Institute. The Book: Untangling. The Living Process Episode 15 Using Parts Work to Untangle Stuckness, with Barbara McGavin. I'm happy to announce The Living Process, Episode 15 with Barbara McGavin. I first met Barbara in 1988 when she was co-leading a workshop in Focusing with Rob Foxcroft and since then we have developed a friendship as fellow Canadians and Focusing teachers. Barbara has been practicing Focusing since 1983 and she was a main developer of The British Focusing Association (BFA). She is a Certifying Coordinator for the International Focusing Institute and has a varied background in humanistic psychology, and art and design, and has developed workshops for creatives called Spark to Beacon, originally located in Bath, England. Since 1991, Barbara has a creative partnership with Ann Weiser Cornell developing Inner Relationship Focusing which later developed into the well-known Treasure Maps to the Soul. This work is now under the title of “Untangling”, which will be the title of a new book they have co-authored due to come out in August 2024. In this episode Barbara and I talk about her journey into Focusing and her eventual partnership with Ann, which continues to develop fruitfully. We talk about the importance of Self-in-Presence, Parts-work, and different forms of attention. Barbara touches on some of the upcoming contents of the book Untangling including their view that there are three kinds of parts and a distinction between parts and a felt sense. Near the end we also talk a bit about using this model for relationship work and what is similar and different in the professions of psychotherapist and Focusing Guide. Enjoy two free amateur detective episodes of Casey, Crime Photographer A) 2/6/47 The Grey Kitten w/ Staats Cottsworth B) 2/20/47 The Twenty-Minute Alibi w/ Staats Cottsworth For those who could not get enough of B-movie murder-mysteries, Casey, Crime Photographer was the radio equivalent. It employed similar plot devices, such as the suspect about to reveal important information being shot and killed by the guilty party. Loose ends, disappearing corpses, a lack of clues, and too many suspects were the hallmarks of this popular show. Casey was a top-notch photojournalist for the fictional Morning Express often started his assignments at the Blue Note Café', a cozy jazz bar in a great city populated by murderers, kidnap victims, and ex-cons framed for crimes they didn't commit. The police were portrayed unsympathetically – always willing to wrap up the case after Casey had solved it for them. Assisting Casey was fellow reporter and female interest, the always charming Annie Williams. The character of Jack “Flashgun” Casey was the creation of George Harmon Coxe, and first appeared in the pulp magazine Black Mask (in the radio series, his first name was never given). Alonzo Deen Cole, responsible for the eerie late-night horror program, The Witch's Tale, wrote most of the radio scripts and many of his episodes featured elements of the supernatural. Casey, Crime Photographer inspired two motion pictures and a series of comic books. In 1951, the radio program made the transition to television with Darren McGavin in the lead. The video version lasted just one full season, McGavin later recalling the difficulty of adapting radio scripts for the visual medium. In 1954, the radio program came back on air for a further year and was a firm favorite with those fans who liked their mysteries laced with jazz music and their solutions fairly obvious.

Barker had been training with his neighbor, Chuck Norris, and wanted to show off his skills.Although Christopher McDonald has become synonymous with Shooter McGavin, he was not the first choice for the role. Producers were hoping that Kevin Costner would play the part but he was interested in making “Tin Cup.” McDonald almost turned down the role of McGavin as well because he was trying to break of the stereotype of playing villains. After meeting Adam Sandler and realizing how funny the film would be, he agreed to the role. McDonald has since said it was one of the very best moves of his career.Happy was loosely based on a childhood friend of Sandler's named Kyle McDonough. They grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, and would sometimes play golf—but Sandler could never outdrive his buddy, which he attributed to McDonough's extensive background playing hockey. McDonough went on to play in the East Coast Hockey League, the British Hockey League, and a league in Norway. He remains friends with Sandler to this day. He's hard to recognize under all of that hair, but Otto the homeless caddy was none other than Allen Covert, Sandler's longtime friend and Happy Madison Productions collaborator who played the title role in the cult comedy Grandma's Boy ten years later. Covert's IMDb page is full of Sandler projects, starting with 1989's Going Overboard, followed by Airheads, Happy Gilmore, Bulletproof, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Never Been Kissed, Big Daddy, Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, and on, and on...The Happy Gilmore score was composed by the frontman for new wave art rockers Devo, who had huge hits in the early days of MTV with "Whip It" and their cover of The Rolling Stones "Satisfaction." Like Oingo Boingo's Danny Elfman, Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh has found tremendous success as a composer, working on kid TV shows like Rugrats, the famous "Get a Mac" commercials, several Wes Anderson films, and more recently, 21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, and one of our favorite scores, Thor: Ragnarok. Almost 20 years after Happy Gilmore, Mothersbaugh composed the music for Adam Sandler's Hotel Transylvania, at the urging of his then young kids. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2.
