Free WheelerThis week's Torq Moto Podcast Show is the first episode of a two-parter with Brian Wheeler, one of the most popular and likeable characters in British Motocross over the past 50 years, Brian Wheeler. Always armed with classic tales and more than his fair share of wisecracks, Brian is in his element as he sits on the guest sofa and talks with hosts ‘Jeffro' Perrett and ‘Doc Wobs' about his youth career and early days in adult motocross before he became a fully fledged 500cc World Championship campaigner. Of course, the whole hour is littered with golden nuggets of stories and opinions from Brian, all delivered in his dry West Country accent. Here, he finally sets the record straight on a long-standing rumour that he once had to walk home from a youth motocross meeting because his performance wasn't up to scratch and to the surprise of the hosts, explains how he was one of Team Green UK's first signings. He also talks with great affection about his KTM days and how much influence the UK importer at the time, Gordon Jones, had on his career. Conversation continues to flow when the trio discuss how difficult the transition from youth to adult racing in the British championship support series actually was and how in awe he was of the top riders before they get into the thick of it reminiscing about the glory days of 500cc GP racing in it's pomp of the 80's. It's classic ‘Torq Moto' fodder and exactly why Doc Wob and Jeffro formed the show, so sit back and watch or listen to an hour of chat with one of the biggest personalities of British motocross over the past five decades looking back on his youth and early career in a sport that still means so much to him, like it does to us all. You can watch episode one of the Brian Wheeler Torq Moto Podcast show on YouTube or listen on Spotify or Apple and also catch up on previous episodes.

John Canzano, JohnCanzano.comjoins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly look into college football. They jump right into the discussion surrounding WSU quarterback John Mateer. What would he fetch money wise in the transfer portal?  John estimates that the going rate for a top QB is over a million dollars.  Can the Cougs afford to keep Mateer around?  Does he get a sense that Mateer wants to look elsewhere or is he happy in Pullman?   Should Jedd Fisch move on from Will Rogers and start Demond Williams the rest of the season.  The Huskies are not going to a major bowl game so why keep playing Rogers?  John and Puck both agree that the NIL has something to do with the decision surrounding Rogers. What are the expectations for the Cougars and the college football rankings tonight and what type of chaos do they need in front of them to sneak in to the CFP.  John was on the scene in Utah covering the “Holy War” between Utah and BYU. He reacts to the scene where the Utah AD claims that the game was stolen from them. Utah does not have an exit fee and can leave the Big 12 any time they want, would they jump and come back to the Pac-12?  John dishes on those chances. Lastly, John and Puck talk about the passing of former Blazers broadcaster Brian Wheeler. On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Danny Kelly, The Ringer and John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com. Puck opened up the show asking the question, was this past season the worst offseason under John Schneider? With the release of Tyrel Dodson, aren't the Seahawks just signaling that they are truly rebuilding?Danny Kelly, The Ringer joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly visit talking Seahawks, NFL and fantasy football.  Danny ponders the question that Puck asked about John Schneider's offseason.  Was this the worst one under his tenure?  If the Seahawks are headed to a rebuild in the offseason,  should they commit dollars to D.K. Metcalf and Geno Smith?  If they do move on from Geno, what are there options in the draft. Danny details the upcoming draft class for quarterbacks.  Puck asks Danny, if the Seahawks lose their next two games to the 49ers and Cardinals, would they be best served to lose their remaining games to get better draft position?  Danny makes a compelling argument against that strategy. It's a Waiver Wire Tuesday, and Danny shares with Puck the best pickups in fantasy football.  They wrap up their segment with their weekly feature, “Barge of the Week.”  They put a player, coach, team or front office NFL personnel on a barge and send them out to the Pacific Ocean.  Danny put Jerry Jones on the barge and Puck went with John Schneider. John Canzano, JohnCanzano.comjoins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly look into college football. On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy and his weekly visit with Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast. Puck and Jim start off talking about Puck's visit to Pullman to watch the Cougs dismantle Utah State. Puck talks about the crowd in Pullman and celebrating his anniversary with his wife Saturday night in Moscow, Idaho! Since there was no Seahawks game to go over, Puck and Jim chat about where they are headed. If the Seahawks finish 6-11, what will there offseason look like? At that point, a rebuild should definitely be on the table for the Seahawks. The Seahawks need to revamp their offensive line, can they do that if they have too much money tied up with their skilled position players?Russell Wilson continues to shine for the Steelers, in fact, some in the media are already talking about Pittsburgh about being a sneaky Super Bowl contending team. If Wilson keeps this up he will win the NFL comeback player of the year. Things are unraveling in Dallas and Puck and Jim can't believe that Micha Parsons called out his head coach Mike McCarthy publicly!  Also, because Puck and Jim are degenerate gamblers that can't figure out how the Seahawks are only getting +6.5 against the 49ers. Lastly, Utah is upset about the officiating in their game with BYU. The AD of Utah was critical of the Big 12 and Puck says that the Pac-12 should call Utah immediately and try and lure them back to the conference! Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 join Jason “Puck”Puckett for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast.  They discuss the chances of Seattle trying to avoid a 6-11 finish. What would it take for Seattle to spend their offseason in a rebuild mode?  Curtis doesn't think Seattle is that far off, Puck and Tim aren't so sure. If they do decided to play D.K. Metcalf in the offseason, do they have enough money to improve their offensive line? What happens if they move on from Geno Smith?  Curtis argues that you should be careful what you wish for.  Geno is not the number one problem. Even though Geno is not the problem, they don't have a future quarterback on their roster.  The Cardinals look for real and the 49ers have Christian McCaffrey back so winning the division will be that much more difficult. Does John Schneider have the confidence of the ownership group to make wholesale changes to his roster in the offseason? Finally, Puck wraps up with “Hey, What the Puck!?”  Honoring Brian Wheeler. Big Taco aims to build a new Tex-Mex empire

Jake Wheeler is no stranger to the restaurant industry or Tex-Mex cuisine. Both have always been a part of his and his family's livelihoods. “Back in 1995, (my dad) launched Tijuana Flats. In 2015, he sold it. So now we're here and it's my turn to take the reins and do something new,” Jake Wheeler said. The family also owns Tibby's New Orleans Kitchen and Jake Wheeler had been working there as a manager, handling events and marketing. Jake Wheeler and his father, Brian Wheeler, opened Big Taco in Casselberry in early November. Jake Wheeler said his dad had been getting restless since retiring. “The way this went is my dad, he retired about four or five years ago,” Jake Wheeler said. “He got bored in retirement — like one day, I walked outside and he had our dog on the jetski in the backyard. So he gets bored. He always wants something new and he thought, ‘You know if I'm going to be spending my money and resources to do something, how about I help out my kids?' So he said, ‘I was good at Tex-Mex and I think we could do it again.' So then he came up with Big Taco and the whole idea of this was to provide an outlet for me and my brother to take the reins, run, do our thing and hopefully create another Tex-Mex empire.” Jake Wheeler said Big Taco had been a nickname for his dad since the elder Wheeler opened up Tijuana Flats. “He's been called Big Taco since 1995,” Jake Wheeler said. “His friends gave it to him. They would hang out, ‘Hey, Big Taco, what's up?'” Taking command of Big Taco has proved something of a challenge for Jake Wheeler. He had restaurant experience with running Tibby's, but Big Taco is a completely different setup. “I had no clue of how to run a fast-casual restaurant,” Jake Wheeler said. “Luckily had the training of the full service, which is a much bigger operation. I wouldn't say it's easier or more difficult than this, but once I came here to the fast-casual setting, it was kind of refreshing.” The decision to open in Casselberry was a strategic one. Jake Wheeler said the idea was to save money on rent while building up a reputation. “We thought Casselberry is a great place — you have a family environment, a good town, and we're not breaking the bank and we could really build a good community here. Our neighboring restaurants — Bagel King and Anthony's — they've been here for 20-plus years. They're all very respected. So we decided we go next to them so we can build that same reputation that they have.” On the latest episode of Florida Foodie, Jake Wheeler talks about what makes Big Taco unique from Tijuana Flats. He also talks about the artwork on display inside the restaurant and shows off some of the most popular menu items. Please follow our Florida Foodie hosts on social media. This week we connect with our friends from Consumers Energy to talk about the upcoming holiday season. We've got info on ways to keep your house warm and cozy this year, things to do in downtown Jackson, information on using electric vehicles when traveling, plus TURKEY TALK.First up, Brian Wheeler from Consumers joins us to share a few tips and tricks on how to save energy during the holidays, including some great black Friday deals you can take advantage of. He might also share a few favorite holiday memories with us. Find out more about Consumers Energy's special savings and more here. It's no secret that we love Jackson, Michigan. We've always felt that you should love Jackson too, so we brought our friend Rachel Buchanan on to share all the cool things you can enjoy in Jackson this holiday season. She also gives us an update on the restaurant scene in Jackson, which is home to Consumers Energy headquarters. Did you know that Jackson is really a foodie town? It is, trust us!We've been interested in electric vehicles for years now, but have always wondered exactly how they would work with all the miles that we travel. We reached out to Western Michigan University physics professor Paul Pancella to educate us a little bit about this auto option. First, let's just say GO BRONCOS because this guy built his own electric car off of a Honda Civic over ten years ago, and he's been a convert ever since. His passion is inspiring, and information fascinating. Finally, the holiday season is one of the busiest for those of us cooking in the kitchen, and we can always use a few tips and tricks. John summons Chef Amy to the mic for a little bit of TURKEY TALK, and how you can cut your energy usage this holiday season while still creating mouth-watering delicious holiday meals.
