This guy might just be the worst Russian serial killer of modern times. But he was slightly different in that he didn’t really choose a certain kind of victim - anyone would do! Today's case is about The Chessboard Killer. We examine the life of a Russian man who was not only fascinated with the game of chess but also fascinated with playing terrible games with innocent victims in Bitsa Park. He would lure his friends and strangers into the woods, pretending he was having a casual drink and toasting to his dog passing away but instead, it was all a game of control. We will take a look at his case and try to put together the pieces about what led him to carry out the things that he did. This is a story about Alexander Pichushkin. Even if you have heard of him before, I encourage you to watch.
I visited Moscow a few years ago for a My Dark Path research trip so I could finish the mini-series about the Secrets of the Soviets. Those episodes, like Stalin's Bunker 42 and Soviet Psychic Spies, are available for My Dark Path Plus subscribers on Patreon. In addition to these stories, I also found other stories that were more contemporary, not only from the dark Soviet era. Those stories include that of the Chessboard Killer, a serial murderer who killed scores of people around the Bitsevsky Park between 1992 and 2006.www.mydarkpath.com/the-russian-chessboard-killerVisit us at www.mydarkpath.comwww.youtube.com/@mydarkpath
This week on WDDD? La Shaunda brings you a story straight from Russia with Love. A terrifying tale about a murderous man and his inanimate accomplice, the Bitsa Park well. Between 1992 and 2006, Pichushkin aka, "The Bitsa Park Maniac" savagely murdered between 49 and 60 innocent people. Falling just shy of his goal of 64 victims to fill the 64 spaces of a chessboard. Tune in for all the awful details. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/WhyDeyDoDatPod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/whydeydodatpodcast Email: WhyDeyDoDatPod@gmail.com
This lil bad boy tricked unsuspecting hobos into thinking they were walking through the woods to pay respects to his dead dog when they were actually being led to their own deaths. Alexander Pichushkin would also have to expedite the completion of some of these killings to he could make it home in time to watch his favorite TV show with his mom. Russian serial killer Alexander Pichuskin had more victims than Jeffrey Dahmer, Jack the Ripper, and the Son of Sam combined. From 1992-2006 it wasn't uncommon to hear their screams echoing through the woods. His theatrics were chilling and inspired from his favorite book, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dave Carnegie. DISCLAIMER- Sensitive Content Welcome to Horror Slumber Party! Today we talk about the disgusting man that is Alexander Pichushkin AKA the Bitsa Park Killer or the Chessboard Killer. This case truly is really rough to talk about, so bear with us as we are uncomfortable the majority of the time. This man really is not spoken about much, which is odd to me, so I wanted to cover the case as well as I could! As a bonus we talk about dogs in diapers, Sarah Palin, and the disgustingness that is romanticizing serial killers. This episode is sponsored by Anchor! The chessboard killer or The Bitsa Park Maniac, Alexander Pichushkin was a prolific Russian serial killer active between 1992 and 2006. His goal, if you haven’t already guessed, was to kill a person for every square on the chessboard. In total he bludgeoned to death somewhere between 48–62 people discarding their bodies in the sewers running under Bitsa park in Moscow. He was motivated by Andrei Chikatilo. While these things were innocent enough, lurking underneath this decade was a series of individuals commiting some of the most henous and horrendous acts imaginable. These are 5 Terrifying Criminals from the 90s. 5. Chester Turner During the 80s and 90s at least five serial killers operated in Southern Los Angeles. But out of them, Chester Turner, is the one of the most prolific the city had ever seen. 4. Alexander Pichushkin Considered as one of the most deranged and prolific serial killers in Russian history, Alexander “Sasha” Pichushkin is known as the “Chessboard Killer” and the Bitsa Park Maniac since he killed almost all his victims at Bittsevsky Park in Moscow. 3. Herb Baumeister To the townspeople of Westfield, Indiana, Herb Baumeister was a successful entrepreneur and family man. The oldest of four children, Herb was considered “normal” during childhood but by adolescence something inside him had changed. 2. Michael Fourniret A French national, Michael Fourniret was in his 60’s and lived with his wife, Monique and their baby son in a stunning historical home dubbed as the “Castle of Ardennes” located in Ardennes, France. Between 1987 and 2001, Michael stalked and killed nine people and left a multitude of molestation victims in his wake. 1. Cedric Maake In just one year, between 1996 to 1997, Cedric Maake terrorized Johannesburg, South Africa. Police were baffled when several murders and assaults started popping up in two different clusters. The Brixton Murder and Robbery Unit of the South African Police Service thought they were dealing with two different murderers so they created two profiles based on the pattern.
Pichuskin was calculated monster that claimed to be given life through murder. Unlike most killers, he didn’t seem to have a sexual motivation associated with his crimes, but rather he craved the god like power he got from taking a life..This aloud him to choose victims and locations carefully, as to avoid detection. But, like so many killers, Alexander would eventually grow to love the attention his murders brought and started leaving the bodies out in plain sight, most time with his signature, a vodka bottle shoved into the victim’s head wound.Social Media: @killerjobspodPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/killerjobsMerchandise: https://killerjobspodcast.threadless.com( 100% of all money from the show’s Patreon & merchandise sales are donated to the St. Louis Crisis Nursery, in addition to a monthly donation from advertising revenue. https://www.crisisnurserykids.org )

Russian serial killer, Alexander Pichuskin killed 48, but possibly as many as 60 people between 1992 and 2006. He initially said that his aim was to kill 64 people, one for every square on a chessboard. Later he recanted his statement, saying that, had he not been caught, he would have carried on killing indefinitely. Had he filled all the squares on one board with victims, he would simply have gone out and bought another board to fill. Before he was caught, he was known as the Bitsevsky Park Maniac. After police found his marked chessboard, however, he was renamed: The Chessboard Killer. Alexander Pichushkin insisted he’d killed sixty-three people after being apprehended in 2006 but authorities only had enough evidence to convict him of forty-eight murders. The bodies of other victims had vanished. He killed his first victim in 1992 and didn’t get caught until 2006. Not only was he not remorseful, he was proud. He was disappointed that he wasn’t convicted of killing more people than his idol, Chikatilo, convicted of 52 murders in 1992. His goal was kill 64 - one for every space on a chessboard. Why? Why did he want to kill anyone? Who did he kill? How did he kill them? And how did he get away with it for so damn long?
