In India's coastal state of Goa, the world's best chess players are chasing titles at the FIDE World Cup, a biennial tournament run by FIDE, the International Chess Federation. On the East Coast of the United States, Kenneth Regan chases fairness. Each night he downloads every game, feeding the moves into his program to see if the play looks human or too perfect. Cheating today isn't just glances or notes. It can mean phones, signals, or online help from chess engines. Regan's math hunts for patterns that feel off, walking the thin line between genius and help. From the 2006 “Toiletgate” scandal—when a world champion was accused of using computer aid during long bathroom breaks—to the 2022 storm between Magnus Carlsen and Hans Niemann, when Carlsen withdrew mid-tournament, suspicion has shadowed the board. Regan's work keeps the focus on the moves, not the murmurs.Guest: Kenneth Regan, Professor of Computer Science, University at Buffalo; Anti-Cheating Expert for FIDE, the World Chess Federation Host: Anupama Chandrasekaran Edited by Jude Weston Learn more about your ad choices. The first of the measures announced in the Budget are now in effect, with around 2 and a half cents added to the cost of a litre of petrol and diesel, while tobacco products have increased by 50 cents. An allocation of €13.1 billion has been announced for the Department of Education and Youth as part of the €9.4 billion package. Minister for Finance Jack Chamber says there will be an additional 1,717 SNA posts in 2026 while 1,042 teaching posts will also be created. INTO Rep for Clare, Principal of Sixmilebridge National School Gareth Heagney, fears the deficit of special education teachers will be addressed through taking teachers out of mainstream classes.

This podcast episode by Alevtina Solovyeva traces Central Asia as the enduring crossroads “between empires,” where caravan routes outlast the borders drawn over them. It opens with the Silk Roads: trade as the region's original superpower – moving goods, ideas, and identities. The narrative then tracks how Qing–Russian rivalry and the 19th century “Great Game” layered governors, railways, and taxes onto steppe and peoples, then the Soviet period engineered republics, industries, and pipelines while China watched, split, and later recalibrated. Independence for the five Central Asian states after 1991 reset the board: Russia remained the familiar security habit; China re-entered with capital and corridors, culminating in the Belt and Road. Multi-vector tendencies took hold as Turkey, Iran, Japan, Korea, the U.S., and the EU pressed in. The 2022, start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, accelerated internal and external processes concerning Central Asia as a strategic area, as well as a Russia-China partner-rivalry across energy, transport, finance, and soft power. Four platforms – SCO, EAEU, BRICS, and BRI – showcase both cooperation and competition, with BRI as the physical layer that forces choices on routes, rules, and control. Looking to 2025-2030, three stress tests loom: the terms of Power of Siberia-2, corridor races (CKU vs. Kazakh/Middle Corridor routes), and “security creep.” Central Asia has become a focal arena for international actors amid deep shifts in power balances and rules. It is a fast-moving environment with open-ended trajectories, multiple internal and external agents and situational theatres where interests intersect. In this thought-provoking episode of The Mel K Show, I am joined by my friend and brilliant historian, Matt Ehret, to discuss an upcoming summit that could have profound global significance. Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are set to meet in Alaska, and Matt brings his deep geopolitical and historical insight to unpack what this means for both the United States and the world. We start by exploring why Alaska was chosen as the location. As Matt explains, this choice carries powerful symbolic meaning. Alaska has been at the crossroads of pivotal historical struggles, serving as both a strategic gateway and a contested territory in the global balance of power. From its purchase in the 19th century to its role in Cold War strategy, the Arctic region has shaped alliances, trade, and security. But there is also a darker side to the story. Matt brings attention to the controversial statue of Albert Pike, a Confederate general with deep ties to secret societies and subversive networks that have influenced American history. Drawing on the work of historian Anton Chaitkin, Matt traces Pike's connections to the early American deep state, linking him to forces that have long sought to undermine the republic from within. These connections extend to the creation of Skull and Bones, the Wall Street power structure, and the later formation of the CIA and FBI. From there, we move into the larger geopolitical context. The Trump-Putin meeting comes at a time when old imperial structures, what Matt calls the “Anglo-Saxon world empire,” are in decline. This summit could be an opportunity to move toward a more cooperative and multipolar order, one that rejects perpetual conflict in favor of mutual respect and shared prosperity. Matt and I discuss the historical examples of successful diplomacy that changed the trajectory of world events, as well as the dangers of ignoring history's lessons. We talk about the role of narrative control, the rewriting of history to serve entrenched powers, and why it is so important for the American people to understand the true roots of our national challenges. Here is what you will learn in this episode: The symbolic and strategic importance of Alaska as the summit location The hidden history behind Albert Pike and his influence on American power structures How deep state networks have operated from the nation's founding to the present Why the Trump-Putin meeting could signal a shift in global power dynamics The role of historical truth in shaping a better future for the United States and the world This is more than a conversation about current events. It is a reminder that history is alive, and the decisions made today will shape the world our children inherit. By understanding the past, we can navigate the present with wisdom and clarity. Matt Ehret's research and analysis shine a light on the deeper currents beneath the headlines, giving us the tools to see beyond the surface and recognize the forces that truly shape our world. The conversation unpacks the role of intelligence networks, economic pressures, and ideological messaging in undermining communist regimes, while also considering the long-term consequences of these maneuvers on global politics. With historical depth and sharp analysis, the hosts connect the dots between faith, statecraft, and the power plays that defined a pivotal era.

In this expansive episode, Ghost dives deep into Africa's shifting alliances and the global scramble for critical resources. He opens with Trump's Africa Summit, where five West African nations were invited to Washington to negotiate trade deals centered on rare earth minerals, oil, and gas. Ghost methodically dissects NPR and AP coverage, showing how Western media narratives obscure the real incentives driving U.S. outreach, countering China's and Russia's growing footholds across the continent. Using detailed maps and timelines, he explains how military coups in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso have created a new power bloc aligned with Russia, and why Liberia, Gabon, and others were strategically selected for engagement. The conversation moves to the Pentagon's controversial investment in MP Materials, effectively nationalizing America's only rare earth mine to break dependence on Chinese supply chains. Ghost then pivots to Israel's turmoil, exploring how Netanyahu's government is trapped between domestic collapse, far-right coalition partners, and stalled Gaza negotiations. With plenty of sidebars, on rare earth land grabs, CIA-backed coups, and the long game of economic warfare, this episode is equal parts exposé and history lesson, revealing how old empires still pull the strings behind modern headlines.

In this marathon episode, Ghost unpacks the tangled narratives around Epstein's disappearance from the headlines. He traces the saga back to Robert Maxwell, laying out how British intelligence created Maxwell's empire to spy on the Soviets, then explores how Epstein and Ghislaine may have replicated that template as Mossad assets running a state-sponsored blackmail operation. Ghost plays fresh clips of Trump and Pam Bondi, dissecting their dismissive responses to Epstein questions and arguing this could be deliberate narrative bait to lull the real power brokers into complacency. The show then pivots to Netanyahu's White House visit, analyzing how Trump's public deference masks a deeper strategy of leverage. Ghost details the factions vying for power in Israel, Naftali Bennett, Benny Gantz, and Yair Lapid, and why Netanyahu's unpopularity ironically makes him easier for Trump to manipulate. From the long history of America arming Iran and Iraq to the Oslo Accords and the manufactured Iranian boogeyman, Ghost lays out how decades of foreign policy theater have locked the region in perpetual crisis. Packed with historical context and fresh analysis, this episode challenges conventional narratives about the Middle East and the real endgame behind today's headlines.

In this episode, Will opens with a thoughtful discussion on dynasties and parity in professional sports, comparing the landscape of the NBA and MLB. He notes how the NBA has historically been shaped by dominant teams and superstar-driven dynasties, whereas Major League Baseball tends to offer somewhat more parity, with some teams rising to prominence and others embracing mediocrity.Transitioning to the NHL, Will shifts gears to break down recent offseason moves, including notable trades and free agency signings. He highlights how NHL teams are doing their best to navigate the salary cap while trying to build sustainable contenders, and he reflects on how the league's structure fosters and often rewards balance between parity and the occasional mini-dynasty, like the recent Panthers and Golden Knights runs.

If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

The devil's chessboard! (Charles Spurgeon, "Flowers from a Puritan's Garden" 1883) "So that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes!" 2 Corinthians 2:11 "Be watchful; the world is the devil's chessboard! You can hardly move backward or forward, but he is ready to attack you with some temptation!" Those who play at the game of chess know that great caution is needed. Your opponent is working toward a design of which you know nothing; and while you imagine that you are doing exceedingly well, he is entrapping you! The game of life, as against Satan, is one in which . . . his maneuvers and artifice, his long practice and stratagems, his superior skill and deceptiveness, and his unscrupulous schemes, give him an immense advantage over our poor self-conceited folly! Lord, help us! You know our adversary; be pleased to deliver us out of his hand. "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes!" Ephesians 6:11

In this episode, Doug Casey takes us on a whirlwind tour of global hotspots—from the icy Greenland to the isthmus of Panama, and even the festering powder keg between India and Pakistan. Doug doesn't mince words. On Greenland: “The U.S. is going to acquire Greenland one way or another… It's a gigantic piece of land with 50,000 people.” He dissects the absurdity of U.S. foreign aid, using Israel and Egypt as examples: “Would every American family take $20 out of their wallet and send it to Israel each year? If you put it that way, the answer would be no.” Doug also exposes the imperial logic behind Trump's geopolitical moves—comparing his mindset to that of a CEO acquiring subsidiaries. But he's not cheering it on: “What the U.S. is suffering from is imperial overexpansion. Trump talks the talk, but DOGE will be a total and complete failure when it comes to cutting government spending.” We also dive into: How the U.S. might retake the Panama Canal Zone—“because we built it, fair and square.” Puerto Rico's staggering $21.6 billion annual cost to U.S. taxpayers—“a socialist welfare state where nothing works.” The brewing India-Pakistan crisis—“These people could go nuclear… they're not the brightest crayons in the box.” And the myth of America winning WWII: “The Russians won it. Not us. Trump saying otherwise is just factually incorrect—and insulting.” Finally, Doug gives his stark forecast for the economy: “Interest rates are going much higher. The dollar's going much lower. It's not bottomless. It's just stupid.” This episode is another unfiltered look at the shifting geopolitical and economic fault lines shaping our world.

In Episode 94 of Breaking History, Matt Ehret and Ghost peel back the curtain on a sprawling geopolitical landscape shaped by finance, covert operations, and imperial legacy. Kicking off with a deep dive into the rise of Mark Carney as Canada's new globalist puppet, Matt exposes Carney's roots in Brookfield Asset Management, his ties to the World Economic Forum, BlackRock, the Bronfman crime dynasty, and even Ghislaine Maxwell. They explain how Canada's technocratic system is run through the British Crown's Privy Council and unpack why Trump's call to make Canada the 51st state may be a calculated narrative demonstration rather than a serious policy goal. The hosts then shift to the volatile India-Pakistan conflict, highlighting the role of British and U.S. intelligence in fostering jihadist networks and weaponizing historic grievances like Kashmir and Khalistan. From Pakistan's Defense Minister openly blaming the West for radicalization, to India's aggressive water shutoff, they warn of a potential flashpoint designed to fracture the BRICS alliance. Finally, they explore the strategic importance of Iran's Bandar Abbas port explosion along the International North-South Transport Corridor, a vital trade route linking Russia, Iran, and India. With energy, alliances, and multipolarity on the line, this episode is a masterclass in deciphering the engineered chaos of empire.

Who really killed her? Why did CIA counterintelligence chief James Angleton rush to find and confiscate her diary? Had she discovered the plan to assassinate her lover, President Kennedy, with the trail of information ending at the steps of the CIA? Was it only coincidence that she was killed less than three weeks after the release of the Warren Commission Report?Fans of The Murder of Mary Russell, JFK: A Vision for America, and other JFK books will love Mary's Mosaic. Building and relying on years of interviews and painstaking research, author Peter Janney follows the key events and influences in Mary Pinchot Meyer's life—her first meeting with Jack Kennedy; her support of her secret lover, President Kennedy, as he worked towards the pursuit of world peace and away from the Cold War; and her exploration of psychedelic drugs. In this gripping and deeply analytical episode of Devolution Power Hour, Chris Paul and Ghost dissect the latest psychological and narrative warfare shaping global events and the future of America First. The show kicks off with a deep dive into the updated White House COVID-19 origin page, which now points to a lab leak as the source of the virus. But Chris and Ghost aren't buying the limited hangout. Instead, they argue this half-measure narrative protects the deeper truth, that the pandemic was scripted, gamed out, and used as a tool of global subjugation. They explore how information warfare itself is being weaponized, not just to wake up the normies, but to dismantle deep state operatives behind the scenes. General Flynn's fiery post calling out Pam Bondi and Kash Patel for inaction becomes a lightning rod for a larger discussion on loyalty, strategy, and narrative pacing. The hosts break down why we must demand accountability now, not after the midterms, not after 2028, and why friction, conflict, and discomfort are necessary ingredients for justice and real reform. Also in the mix: Trump's evolving Fed strategy, Elon Musk's power struggles inside the administration, the return of Derek Harvey to the National Security Council, and potential signals about Ezra Cohen's next move. From Easter truces to economic proxy wars, and from controlled opposition to 5D chess, this episode is loaded with pattern recognition, game theory, and unapologetic truth-seeking.

Send us a textThe Chessboard Mentality represents the apex of strategic masculine power – a philosophy that transforms how you navigate every aspect of life. Moving beyond reactive thinking and short-term gains, this approach teaches you to see the entire field, recognize patterns before they form, and position yourself for inevitable success. What separates kings from pawns isn't intelligence or strength – it's vision. While most men live move-to-move, reacting to circumstances and chasing validation, the man who masters the chessboard mentality designs outcomes before others even realize there's a game being played. This isn't about manipulation or cold calculation; it's about conscious movement and positional dominance. The five core principles – delay is power, play for position not pieces, sacrifice with strategy, protect your queen, and think five moves ahead – create a framework for unshakeable personal power. When you delay your response, you demonstrate that you're choosing to move rather than being forced to. When you play for position, you evaluate opportunities not just for immediate benefit but for how they position you years down the road. Strategic sacrifice means letting go of what isn't worth keeping to create what others can never take. These principles apply across all domains of life. In conversation, you speak not to fill space or prove something, but to guide outcomes. In business, you create terms rather than accepting what's merely "good enough." In relationships, you lead with emotional integrity rather than power plays. And in your daily habits, you systematize what builds leverage while eliminating what drains your energy. The ultimate challenge is to live this philosophy for seven days – to pause before every decision and ask what it creates five moves from now. To approach conversations by identifying the real energy beneath the surface. To protect your peace like a king guards his kingdom. When you master these principles, success stops being a question of if and becomes simply a matter of when."True mastery is found in the details. The way you handle the little things defines the way you handle everything."

I've been fascinated by the problem Donald Trump faces with Project 2025. Trump has been caught in an awkward position, disavowing the document itself, but unable to fully disavow the people behind it. So I wanted to do an episode not just on Trump, but on the unwieldy coalition that has formed around him — what is sometimes referred to as the “New Right.”Emily Jashinsky is the D.C. correspondent and host of “Undercurrents” for UnHerd, a co-host of “Counter Points” with Ryan Grim, and a former editor at The Federalist, one of the most influential sites among conservatives today. She's described herself as someone with “a foot in both camps” of the “Old Right” and the “New Right.” So I thought she'd be a great guide to understanding how the conservative movement has changed. In this conversation, we discuss the key differences between the Old Right and the New Right; what the New Right wants; why New Right thinkers are so interested in the concepts of “modernity” and “virtue”; and what influence the New Right might have in a second Trump administration.Mentioned:The Virtue of Nationalism by Yoram HazonyBook Recommendations:Primal Screams by Mary EberstadtThe Devil's Chessboard by David TalbotThe Screwtape Letters by C.
