Chief Wahoo's tribe is back! So is Mike and Rooftop Mariner. This time the Cleveland Indians of Major League are back but unfortunately the team has lost it's character, they lost their mojo, and they lost everything that got them to the playoffs the previous year. Now Jake Taylor is one year older, and forced into retirement and helping Lou Brown manage this Indians team and try and make a run for the American League pennant.
LETS PLAY BALL! In a new collaboration with Rooftop Mariner, Mike and Rooftop joins Chief Wahoo's Indians. One of the greatest baseball movies to be made now get reacted to by the Ready, Set, Action Commentaries gang. The Chief's tribe of Indians make up of a hard throwing Charlie Sheen, an anging Tom Berenger, and a speedy Wesley Snipes. The Indians haven't won a pennant since 1954, now the Cleveland Indians are now in the control of the owner's mistress, and she wants to move the team to Miami. In order to do that, the Indians must lose, in dead last to drop the attendance. Fortunately, these rag tag group of ball players have a different plan. These rag tag players group together and now play with everything on the line and go for the “whole fucking thing”!

The city of Cleveland is well known for its sports teams and the loyal fan base behind them. Within the past few years, the city's MLB team the Cleveland Indians had been receiving major backlash for the team's name and its Native American reference. The rebranding of the Cleveland Indians dates back to 2018 when the team announced they would stop using their signature Chief Wahoo logo. In the heat of the Black Lives Matter movement, the team announced its plans to completely change its name. The team conducted more than 100 hours of interviews and received input from over 40,000 fans on what the new name should be. In the summer of 2021, they announced the new name of the Cleveland Guardians. The name is a direct connection to the iconic Cleveland landmark of the Hope Memorial Bridge. Through this podcast, our hosts look into what has gone into the rebrand on a public relations standpoint and what we can learn from the brand. Hosted by: Kenzie Johnston, Cari Tetlow and Madison Knaack For more information on the rebranding of the Cleveland Guardians: https://ballparkdigest.com/2021/07/23/goodbye-indians-hello-cleveland-guardians/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/07/23/cleveland-guardians-mlb-name-change/ https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/cleveland-guardians-release-new-gear-rebrand-digital-and-social-media-platforms/

Cleveland Indians Owner/CEO Paul Dolan joins us on this episode of Sports Forum. We jump right into a hot topic: the use of Native American names and logos by sports teams in general and the Cleveland Indians in particular. Dolan describes the process the team went through in dropping the Chief Wahoo logo, banning face paint and headdress at the team's home field, and the decision in December of last year to change the club's name. Other topics include the team's move to put safety netting down the foul lines at Progressive Field, the club's Covid safety protocols, and the upcoming collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with the players' union. We then touch on some baseball issues, including the record level of strikeouts in Major League Baseball (MLB), pace of play, the lack of action in today's game, and what to do, if anything, with the shift. We conclude by talking about how to get more kids from all backgrounds playing the game, and touch on MLB's decision to move its All-Star Game from Georgia to Colorado.
Moneyball is a great sports movie that is more math than sports. But it's more sports than The Last Boy Scout (we'll get to that later). Sean wonders about the color of 1980s cleats and Brad says the word "adult" weird. And poor Bob Horner gets bullied for the second episode in a row. And he wasn't even in Moneyball! Plus discussions about Jonah Hill's neckties and Chief Wahoo. Join us as we review the 2011 classic, Moneyball. Next episode: Air BudSupport the show

I have some interesting friends who embark on interesting pursuits. We also talked about Wahoo for a bit as Joe is a proponent of keeping Chief Wahoo. It's always great to have these podcasts with in-person guests and Joe is a fun, knowledgable guy to talk to. A lot of people asked for it, and I got the fateful text last week that said Scott was ready and had something to say! In all seriousness, I loved talking to Scott Raab every week and I love talking to him whenever I get the chance to now. With the Johnny Manziel draft pick and the Josh Gordon rumors that cropped up, there was little doubt that he and I would get together on the phone and talk about the Cleveland sports news of the moment.
