Episode 160: Michael Trugman & Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan CainABOUT MIKEMike Trugman is a Life and Leadership Coach who helps people move from fear to fulfillment—building lives rooted in purpose, passion, and authenticity. Through his work, Mike supports clients in reconnecting with their inner compass so they can show up more fully in every area of life, both personally and professionally. Mike is also the host of Mike's Search for Meaning, a top 3% podcast dedicated to exploring what it truly means to be human. His conversations dive deep into transformation, vulnerability, and the inner work required to live a life aligned with who we really are. Mike's own journey is proof of what's possible. He once felt paralyzed by self-doubt—so anxious about speaking in meetings that his body would shake. With time, courage, and consistency, he not only found his voice—he built a life around helping others find theirs too. Before stepping into coaching and podcasting, Mike spent over a decade in public accounting, specializing in financial services clients like hedge funds and private equity firms. That experience taught him a lot about achievement—but even more about the cost of ignoring our inner truth. Mike lives just outside New York City with his wife and young son. When he's not coaching or podcasting, you'll find him reading, learning, cooking, walking in nature, passionately rooting for the Knicks and Jets, and cherishing time with loved ones.CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS• Reconnecting to your inner voice.• Your dojo of leadership.• Reconciling your work to who you are, your values and virtues.• "These days, I try not to be so motivated by pain."• Working past shame & humiliation.• "...all the people that really like helping other people, it's because they have overcome, transcended, worked through their own limitations, their own pains, and they wanted to help other people."• Working with coaches and therapists.• Coming out of the spiritual closet.• Conformation (and losing yourself) to what's socially acceptable.• "...it's usually the stuff that we try and pretend that we aren't that has the most power over us."• The three types of pilots.• The Manifesto for Introverts.• "...even though I'm this way..."• Letting go of "shoulds."The MAIN QUESTION underlying my conversation with Mike is, Whatever you've overcome in the past -- what has it taught you about how to navigate things in the future?FIND MIKE• Website: https://miketrugmancoaching.com/• LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-trugman/• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mytrugofchoice/• Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/7F18LLh0p7YOvvl4hSCDKu?si=792bfdc566e34040&nd=1&dlsi=4f6aeb20ddff41caLinkedIn – Full Podcast Article HERECHAPTERS00:00 - The Book Leads Podcast – Mike Trugman00:38 - Introduction & Bio03:00 - Who are you today? MULE CONFORMATION - MEREDITH HODGES - LUCKY THREE RANCHThe ideal qualities to look for in a mule. What to look for in the ideal head, neck, and shoulders of the mule. Both the mare and the jack contribute to the qualities desired in the mule. Be selective in your breeding program to produce desirable mules.Bone structure is important when selecting a mule for a job or performance. The mule should have an overall balanced look to its body. Pay attention to the hip, stifle, and gaskin, which should have a smooth, muscled look.Mules and donkeys possess more "long" muscle than bulk muscle (as in the horse).Pay attention to the legs of the mule, the hooves, the rib cage, joints, etc.The most important trait of the mule is his disposition; this characteristic comes primarily from the mare. So often horse conformation is blamed for lack of athletic abilities, performance issues and lameness. But really conformation - what is unchangeable - comes down to the size of the bones, proportion of muscle fiber types and minor genetic influences. Coordination is how the bones, soft tissues and genetics are used. When we start to consider that coordination can be changed, we suddenly see a lot more potential in ourselves and our horses. Send us a textShow goats are held to strict conformational standards, but we often overlook the fact that our own herds would benefit from those same conformational standards. Extra teats, bad legs, weak pasterns, and crooked faces may sound as though they aren't that big of a deal outside of the show ring, but those standards have practical reasoning behind them. Ultimately, they produce a strong, sound specimen that can live a long, productive life. Don't we all want that for our goats, even those that will never see a show ring? In this episode, we're talking to Emily Thompson who has been an ADGA judge for 24 years, co-chaired several committees, served on the Linear Appraisal Committee, and raises Alpines and Toggenburgs with her family under the Kara Kahl Alpines and the Legendairy Toggenburg herd names. Emily offers clarification on breed standards in the ADGA Guidebook, the two areas that award the most points in the show ring and why, and the importance of a good mammary system. She also covers what to look for regarding good conformation when purchasing a new goat, defects that will never go away (and some surprising ones that may), as well as some serious defects that should immediately land a goat into either the non-breeding pet or freezer category.See full show notes here >> https://thriftyhomesteader.com/goat-conformation/To see the most recent episodes, visit ForTheLoveOfGoats.comWant to support the content you love?Head over to -- https://thrifty-homesteader.ck.page/products/love-goats-tip-jarThanks for listening! No one ever said raising goats was easy, but it doesn't have to cost a fortune or drive you crazy! Pastor Lynette Gleghorn delivers an important message of transforming over conforming.
Christianity was never meant to be doctrine only, but also a way of living. Romans chapters 12-16 are all about application, how we transfer doctrine to our daily lives. We need to live a certain way based on what God has done for us – it’s not what we do but why we do it. Paul tells us to present our bodies as living sacrifices. This means all of us, the whole person. Are we giving it all to the Lord or just our Sunday best? We need to not think like the world thinks or act like the world acts – not conformed to the world’s pattern – and our minds need to be renewed through biblical teaching and fellowship.

What do we need to know about sheep's conformation and style? What exactly do we mean when we say that a sheep has style? In this episode we explore what you need to know!Conformation is the anatomy and skeletal function of a sheep. It impacts the sheep's health, adaptability, longevity, and productivity. Conformation or structural correctness is made up of the following three aspects: · The ‘Five Ts' assessment methodology to visually and mentally summarise an animal or compare groups at a distance before even touching them· Soundness, structure, balance plus breed traits· Visual confirmation scoring the animal from 1-5. 1=best 5=worstThe Five TsThe ‘Five Ts' assessment methodology to visually and mentally summarise an animal or compare groups at a distance before even touching them.o Toes - pasterns, fetlock, knees, hocks and leg profileo Teeth - at lip / mouth profile, jawlineo Testicles - two well balance, noticeable, full and in a firm scrotum.o Teats - two, well placed with a slight outward tendency attached to a symmetrical udder not always seen in wool sheep but should be noticeable in short wool eweso Type - the breed of animal. Knowledge of the unique breed standard features is also required SoundnessA sheep should be able to move and subsist painlessly, efficiently, and productively throughout its life. The sheep should:· Be in good condition and healthy (environmental consideration needs to be given here too) · Have sound feet· Stand squarely· Have all body parts in correct position, number, and condition especially the Five Ts as aboveStructureStructure is the way a sheep's body parts are put together or arranged to form the whole animal.Structural correctness is important for movement, fertility and longevity. For rams it is crucial for them to be able to mount and impregnate ewes plus potentially passing on genetic traits that maintain or enhance physical structure. For a ewe being structurally correct allows her to get pregnant, carry lambs full term, birth lambs and feed and wean them. Again, with the expectation is that her lambs will maintain or enhance genetic traits like femininity, udder development and teat placement.Structural correctness includes: · Growth potential· Volume/capacity or depth of body· Condition of the sheep (this is more environmental)· Legs· Back· Neck· Shoulder· Eye socketBalance and StyleBalance in sheep deals with having appropriate portions of: Body widthBody depth Body length Sheep should be wide and deep at the rump and tight and trim through the forequarter with the largest volume of weight in the leg and loin.Kathleen Can Do It: DIY, Home Decor, and Interior DesignCreate the home of your dreams at any budget!Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showWant more! Concluding our series on Formation, Pastor Josh Knight taught on how our our transformed lives ought to further conform to Jesus (and our kids and students joined us for this one!). The passage is 1 John 2:1-6.
In this episode we talk about the Type and Conformation of Body. Although we use American and Old English Games as the model, the information is applicable for most breeds of chickens. We all want birds that can perform and reach their potential. Well, this is not going to happen with a family with good conformation of body. Listen in as we take the bird apart and put back together again. That's right, we study all the parts that make up the whole, and their importance. This episode is packed with great information, and one you do not want to miss. We specialize in the breeding of gamefowl and chickens, and other breeding related topics. This includes the proper use of breeding programs. Also, it's our mission to provide our members a greater understanding of poultry genetics, poultry health care and disease prevention, and how to improve the production and performance ability of their fowl. If you are interested in creating a strain, or improving your established strain, you are going to enjoy this show. We also want to encourage you to join us at “The Breeders Academy,” where we will not only help you increase your knowledge of breeding, advance your skills as a breeder, but improve the quality and performance of your fowl.
