Francesco Garofalo, detto "Frank Carroll" fu il potente "vicecapo" della Famiglia Bonanno di New York, nel periodo compreso che va dal 1931, al 1957. Proprio nel 1957 si ritirò definitivamente in Sicilia. Garofalo fu uno dei più eminenti mafiosi di Cosa nostra statunitense, dagli anni venti, agli anni sessanta. Così è descritto nei documenti ufficiali dell'FBI, e del Narcotics Bureau nel 1958: "Presente alla riunione mafiosa di Binghampton nel 1956, il soggetto è uno dei più importanti boss degli Stati Uniti, e della Sicilia. Nel contesto malavitoso calabrese la ricordano ancora come la "marescialla" ma si chiama Aurora Spanò. Lei, donna minuta ma donna di mala, è stata capace di tenere per anni le fila di una delle più note e potenti cosche di 'ndrangheta.Nata a Rosarno il 25 gennaio 1947 diventa infermiera e presta servizio nel piccolo ospedale di Polistena, cittadina di neanche 10 mila anime nell'entroterra calabrese. Poi però scala la vetta della famiglia Bellocco, che a suon di estorsioni, narcotraffico, usura ha imposto il suo controllo non solo nella piana di Gioia Tauro. Ramificazioni se ne sono contate in giro per l'Italia ed anche all'estero – dal Libano alla Grecia - e solo il 13 dicembre 2022 un'altra grande operazione coordinata dalla Dda di Reggio Calabria ha portato il gip a emettere contro la cosca 63 ordinanze: 47 persone sono finite in carcere, 16 ai domiciliari mentre per altre due è stato disposto l'obbligo di dimora. Altre 13 misure cautelari sono state emesse su richiesta della Procura di Brescia che ha coordinato un'indagine collegata a quella calabrese.Ormai settantenne, Aurora Spanò è stata comunque un personaggio di primo piano della cosca. Nel piccolo paese di San Ferdinando nulla si muoveva senza che lei fosse d'accordo. Che si trattasse di aprire un locale o prendere in affitto un appartamento: era Aurora che dava o meno il via libera. Di mano dura anche nella riscossione dei crediti da parte dei debitori, si fece "recapitare" a casa la sorella di alcuni imprenditori taglieggiati e le fece capire, a suo modo, che i fratelli dovevano rientrare altrimenti ci sarebbero stati dei problemi. La Spanò entra nella cosca dei Bellocco unendosi, dopo un primo matrimonio a Giulio Bellocco, al vertice della consorteria. Non lo sposerà mai però e si vendicherà anche di chi proverà a deridere la sua condizione in un contesto sociale dove la "compagna" di un uomo non merita il "rispetto" che si deve solo alle mogli. E comanderà anche dentro il carcere, con la stessa forza e arroganza proprie dei boss costringendo compagne di cella a servirle il pranzo o a pulire i sanitari. Cette semaine, 500 reçoit Soprano. Né à Marseille en 1979, Saïd est l'aîné d'une fratrie de 5 enfants. Originaire des Comores, son père arrive au début des années 70 en aspirant à une vie meilleure. Enfant, Saïd est casanier. Ses journées sont rythmées par l'école et la mosquée. Nous sommes au milieu des années 90 quand il découvre la musique et le rap en particulier. En compagnie de ses cousins Vincenzo, Alonzo et de son ami de longue date Sya styles, ils décident de créer le groupe Psy 4 de la Rime. Programmés dans de nombreuses fêtes de quartiers, le groupe se fait une renommée au point d'être repérés par Akhenaton. Ils rejoindront plus tard la Cosca. Fort d'une brillante carrière en groupe, Sopra se lance en solo. Encore une fois, le succès est au rendez-vous. Albums couronnés de certifications, tournées à guichet fermé, on peut dire qu'une superstar est née ! Au fil d'une longue discussion, Sopra nous parle de son amour pour son pays d'origine les Comores, sa vision de la société, rend hommage aux disparus et n'hésite pas à prodiguer de précieux conseils. 

Cette semaine, 500 reçoit Alonzo. Né à Marseille en 1982, Kassim est le cadet d'une fratrie de 7 enfants. Issu d'une famille de musiciens, Capo comme on le surnomme, a très vite pris goût à l'écriture. Ce passionné de foot a rejoint le groupe des Psy 4 de la rime à l'âge de 16 ans, en 1999. C'est une année charnière pour lui, il fit la rencontre d'Akenaton, membre du légendaire groupe IAM, qui l'intégrera dans la COSCA. Cette même année, il apprend qu'il deviendra papa. Il prit alors conscience que la musique pourrait lui assurer une stabilité. Artiste reconnu et plébiscité, Capo nous parle de sa carrière, de l'amour pour son pays d'origine les Comores, de sa ville de naissance Marseille et des Quartiers Nords dont il est une figure importante.

S'il y a bien une ville qui symbolise le lien entre la musique et le jeu, c'est bien Marseille. Akhenaton et Kheops, du groupe mythique IAM, prennent le temps de discuter avec une autre figure marseillaise, Steve Mandanda, sur cette proximité qui a fait vibrer tant de générations. Avant, pendant, après l'enregistrement, l'ambiance est décontractée. Steve Mandanda débarque en terrain connu à la Cosca, le studio d'IAM situé en plein milieu de la garrigue, au Nord de Marseille. Proche de Saïd, un des membres du groupe qui a participé à sa remise en forme à son retour de Crystal Palace, le capitaine de l'OM s'assoit pour échanger, avec Akhenaton et Kheops, sur ses souvenirs et son lien avec cette ville. Tous, autour de la table, ont une attache spéciale à Marseille. « Il y a énormément de passion, énormément d'amour, expose notamment le champion du monde. C'est ce qui permet au club et à la ville d'exister. » Au fil de la conversation, on découvre les grandes et petites histoires qui lient IAM à l'OM. Akhenaton et Kheops évoquent Lorik Cana, Basile Boli, Eric Di Meco ou plus récemment César Azpilicueta. Évidemment que le vestiaire marseillais connaît les rythmiques de « l'école du micro d'argent ». « Après, moi, je ne suis pas chargé de la musique… », ironise Steve Mandanda sur la transmission de cet héritage des années 1990, âge d'or de l'Olympique de Marseille. En 1993, le club est sur le toit de l'Europe et IAM au début de l'aventure. Kheops : « Je peux te dire que cette année-là, on régnait sur le monde ! » Ils règnent toujours sur Marseille.
