As you rise higher in your career, you will need to reinvent your leadership brand. This can happen when you move up to the next level, for example from manager to senior manager, or if you move to a different industry or start your own business. Basically anytime there's going to be a transition, you will need to reflect on your leadership brand and identify whether it's going to serve you in your new position.Having a leadership brand that's not up-to-date can hold you back and keep you away from your career goals. In this episode I talk about five things you need to think about when reinventing your leadership brand when you get promoted. In this episode, I discuss:How reinventing your leadership brand is a gradual process. How to identify the elements of your leadership brand that still serve you.How to identify elements that no longer serve you and are holding you back. How to re-define your leadership brand with a technique I use with my clients. How to communicate your new leadership brand. How to monitor the results.Listen to this episode here https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/006-how-to-reinvent-your-leadership-brand-when-you/id1500219829?i=1000469235883Resources mentioned:“Is Your Leadership Brand Ready for 2018?”, Kara Ronin, Executive Impressions (http://www.executive-impressions.com/blog/is-your-leadership-brand-ready-for-2018)Episode 003, The Leadership Pod: "How to start building a strong leadership brand in 2020" (https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/003-how-to-start-building-a-strong-leadership-brand-in-2020/id1500219829?i=1000466475891)Love the show? This is the first Q&A Episode for The Leadership Pod. The question for this episode is, “How Can I Get Noticed and Rewarded for the Great Work That I Do?”. This question came to me from one of my Udemy students.Being overlooked, feeling under-appreciated, working harder and longer than everybody else but getting no reward for it, is a common issue for many emerging leaders. So I knew that this would be the perfect issue to talk about in the first Q&A episode. In this episode, I first take a deeper look at this common issue for emerging leaders, then give some solutions you can try, and then talk about what you can expect to happen when you solve this issue at work. I hope this episode is going to be helpful for you. If you've ever felt overlooked for the hard work that you do in the office, you'll get a lot out of this episode! In this episode, I discuss:An important mindset shift you need to make when you transition from junior to senior level in a company. How your people skill will help you get noticed and rewarded. How to talk about what you've achieved in your team meetings to help others see your contribution. How to have a one-on-one with your boss so they know, and cannot deny, the hard work you've been putting in.How to approach this issue in your performance evaluations. How taking action makes you feel that you're more in control of your job and life! How assertive communication is the style of communication you need to have these types of conversations. Information about the Assertive Communication Skills Masterclass on Udemy.Listen to this episode here https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/004-q-episode-how-can-i-get-noticed-rewarded-for-great/id1500219829?i=1000467854648Resources mentioned:Assertive Communication Skills Masterclass video course on Udemy.
