Anita Comisky - Having embarked on multiple entrepreneurial journeys throughout my life, I discovered a newfound passion in my 50s. This led me to establish a nationally recognized candy brand from scratch. My unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction propelled the brand to remarkable heights, establishing me as a success in the confectionery industry. But my journey didn't end there. In my 60s, I embraced a fresh challenge as the controller for a rapidly growing startup. Drawing upon my extensive experience, strategic insight, and innate ability to navigate complex business landscapes, I played a pivotal role in guiding the company toward rapid growth and success.Throughout my journey, I've exemplified resilience, adaptability, and an insatiable thirst for exploration. I continue to inspire others with my tenacity, proving that age is merely a number when it comes to pursuing one's passions and achieving remarkable feats in the world of business.Michelle Belloit—Raised in a family of business owners, entrepreneurship felt like second nature to me. I've held various roles as an owner, partner, consultant, and investor in businesses, embracing the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship. While raising my children, I delved into emotional intelligence and self-improvement. These explorations ignited a vision of the life I wanted to craft. Consequently, I transitioned into professional life coaching, focusing on empowering aspiring women business owners to realize their potential and achieve their goals.

Imagine embarking on a voyage where the destination is the truest version of yourself, unencumbered by the weight of who you think you need to be. According to a Swedish study, 1 in 5 teenagers who have impaired hearing are bullied. Whereas in comparison, those who have normal hearing are reported being bullied 1 in 10. I see deafness as a disability that is under represented. If deaf kids and adults can learn about the hearing world then I think it is only fair that the hearing world learns more about the deaf world and community. We speak to Mickey Carolan, who was a hearing child of two deaf parents growing up. He is an author of the Deaf Kids Can series and has programs to help raise awareness so children and adults have access to communities, schools and employment that embrace their strengths, and supports their ability to be successful. According to the NIH research has shown that one in every five people have dyslexia. That's 20% of people. They break down that data as 1-2 students in every class can have Dyslexia annually. Russell Van Brocklen shares with us that the primary challenge is with the brain being able to organize. He has created a program for parents to teach their children who have dyslexia to organize their thoughts through writing as a measurable outcome. We're kicking off a new series where we will explore how we can go beyond expectations in our lives. Throughout this episode, we discuss what generosity looks like around the world and how we can exceed our own culture's expectations as we become people who are generous with our time, money, energy, and knowledge.
Our discussion today is with Dr. Nicolette James, who is a thought leader in the field of education and social emotional learning. We discuss some of the unexpected challenges that we faced as educators last year and offer insights and questions for you to consider for this upcoming school year. Do you want to be prepared to set a solid foundation for your students to learn and practice growth mindset on a daily basis? I bet you do! If that's the case, you need to check out Dr. James his daily agendas. I've seen them and use them with my own clients. They will help to organize your students so they take a proactive approach to learning as they engage in the learning process. Trust me, it's something you really want to check out for yourself! Remember to comment to our questions, especially those that we ask at the end of this podcast. Remember to like and share this podcast so your colleagues and the parents that you work with can benefit from the information also! Would you like to be a guest on our podcast?
