"Strengths is so granular because it is that you're one in 33 million that you are truly unique when you combine that with your story." Brittany Anderson, a certified transformational coach, shares her personal journey of healing her own family dynamics and the importance of leadership and cohesiveness in the home. She emphasizes the need for individuals to do the transformational work on themselves before trying to heal their relationships. Brittany also highlights the power of defining a family's identity, vision, values, and strengths to navigate through challenging times and create a strong foundation. She believes that world-changing leadership begins at home and that understanding and leveraging family strengths can lead to more resilient and joyful relationships. The conversation explores the power of strengths and play in family dynamics. The Enneagram and strengths assessments are discussed as tools for understanding oneself and others. The four domains of strengths (strategic, executing, relationship building, and influencing) are explained, and how they can impact family dynamics. The importance of play in discovering and reconnecting with one's true self is emphasized, along with the benefits of play in learning and transformation. The Yes Retreat, a two-and-a-half-day intensive for families, is introduced as a way to explore identity, strengths, needs, and values through play. The retreat culminates in the creation of a family crest as a symbol of the family's vision and commitment. Ongoing coaching and group programs are also offered to support families in aligning their lives with their vision. It's amazing to think that Liam McCormick and John Seeterlin originally sought to bring musicians together for one recording. Now, almost 15 years, 7 releases and over 500 "family members" later, The Family Crest is one of the most compelling songwriters and performers out there. Join us as we spend some time with Liam and John to hear all about their beginnings, the stories behind some of their songs and concepts, and listen to some of their beautiful music. Liam even plays live on the show!BioThe brainchild of composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Liam McCormick, orchestral indie band The Family Crest was started as a recording project with co-founder John Seeterlin (bass) as a final release before bowing out of the industry. Instead of leaving music, they were inspired by their peers to set out to reinvent how a band could be created, starting The Family Crest with an audacious and bold vision of cultivating a musical community. “We always liked making music with people - getting a bunch of people together and singing. So we put ads everywhere,” says McCormick. “We posted on Craigslist, distributed flyers, and emailed old friends from school.” The outcome was greater than the original duo imagined, with over 80 people credited on the first recording the band produced and over 500 musicians credited throughout their catalog. The Family Crest has released three full-length albums and three EPs, including their critically-acclaimed breakout LP, Beneath the Brine. Most recently, the band has been releasing pieces of their current musical concept album series, The War, with the latest addition to the series, The War: Act II being released in May of 2022.Website: https://www.thefamilycrest.com/homeYouTube ChannelSpotifyBandcamp"Go Home - Growing Up Bi-Racial in America" by Liam McCormick#nextfavband #livemusic #music #musicinterview #musician #singer #guitar #song #newmusic #explorepage #instamusic Thank you to Carver Commodore, argonaut&wasp, and Blair Crimmins for allowing us to use their music in the show open and close. The Semple Family Crest. Royal Scotland. A rather more realistic look into actual royalty and the true gift from God. The Semple Family Crest. Royal Scotland. The crest is a very serious matter. The antiquity of the one pictured and described is hundreds of years old but only lately in my walk with Christ has it been elevated - due only to Christ alone. Glory to God! Find out more about the crest and crests in general! Go beyond what is seen and find out more about what God says about you. Do you know how important you are to God? Do you know that if you have accepted the Holy Spirit you are in the royal priesthood already? What do you do with this responsibility? The first thing you can and should do, is take time to focus on God and be led in the way. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/vikki-semple/message
Public Media continues to be one of the principle vehicles for "classical" music, and the coalition, Public Media For All, is here to push its institutions toward radical and equitable change. Ernesto Aguilar and Consuela "Sway" Steward join Garrett to talk about the coalition, holding institutions accountable, and the mutual benefit of DEI. Scott inspires a "trill" explanation of equality vs. equity, and the guys connect contemporary greats with Black History Month. Huge shout out and THANK YOU to James Bennett II for all of his work. Ep 13 Tanjiro thinks of a creative way to defeat the demon - he tries to talk with it! We get to learn the demon's backstory which actually makes you feel bad for him. Tanjiro shows a vast amount of respect by actually complimenting Kyogai before killing him, and he says "rest in peace". Everyone makes it outside but when they get out, there is quite the scene going on. Inosuke is beating up Zenitsu who is protecting Tanjiro's box. Tanjiro charges in to stop the commotion. Ep 14 Tanjiro and Inosuke get into an intense fight! Tanjiro notices Inosuke's unusually low fighting style and crazy flexibility. During the course of the fight, the boar mask falls off to reveal Inosuke has an extremely feminine face. The trio makes her way to a safe place to rest, recuperate and heal. It is revealed that Inosuke is not actually a Demon Slayer Corps member. Then Zenitsu freaks out when he learns about Nezuko. Also with a special segments dedicated to fathers for Father's Day.
