Talking Trash is a show to discuss movies that some people deem to be garbage, mediocre or just one that people never knew existed, we talk through the plot in spoiler fashion while asking "is this a bad movie?" And if not "what is the worst movie ever made?"It's October, which means another Pod-o-Ween and we are watching movies from horror movie slasher icons filmography... unfortunately it's only the worst of them. That's 5 different franchises and the lowest rated in each. Next up is "Freddy's Dead the Final Nightmare" you know the one. The one followed by 2 more films and a remake. So, yeah, the final one. When Kellius Droman died, his age-suppression spell on Delilah evaporated. She went from thirteen years old to twenty-two years old almost instantly. While she will inherit her father's empire, she's angry and bitter at his manipulation. Only one person in the world understands the pain of being unknowingly magically modified by a person who is supposed to love you and protect you — Billy Middleton, whose powers and true physical were hidden from him by his grandmother. Delilah's nightmare-generating powers are stronger than anyone could have known. The last person to find that out the hard was Teddy Two-Fingers, who now lies catatonic in a Bastion cell. Meanwhile, Lincoln Franks, the Man in Gray, left Callista's club in Lumencia, saying that there was something he needed to destroy. Oops, Freddy wasn't really dead after the final nightmare. But as Wes Craven makes abundantly clear in this film, horror legends never really go away, they always stick around. Wes' work in this film is admirable, and it's some of the best storytelling in the series. Yet watching you can't help but think about the meta-horror classic that Wes would bring to us just two years later, a film that redefined the genre. Everyone here is doing admirable work and “sending off “ Freddy in style, but there's a lot of missed opportunities that could have made this a sure-fire horror masterpiece. Put on your 3D glasses because we are talking about A Nightmare on Elm Street 6, AKA Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare! Freddy Krueger enters the 90's and we talk pseudonyms, Peter Jackson, defenestration, video games, the devil's cabbage, disappointment, daughters killing their fathers, Rosanne, and more! Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (also known as A Nightmare on Elm Street 6: The Final Nightmare) is a 1991 American slasher film[4] and the sixth film in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. It is a sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child and was originally intended to be the final installment of the series; Wes Craven's New Nightmare was released three years later but takes place outside the series canon. A canonical crossover/sequel, Freddy vs. Jason, was released in 2003. This was New Line Cinema's first 3D film release. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare was released on September 13, 1991, and grossed $34.9 million in the US on a budget of $9–11 million, surpassing its predecessor's gross.[5] It was panned by critics upon release. The film stars Lisa Zane, Yaphet Kotto, Breckin Meyer, Shon Greenblatt, Ricky Dean Logan, Lezlie Deane, Tobe Sexton, and Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger in his sixth portrayal. Additionally, several well-known actors make cameo appearances, including: Johnny Depp (whose screen debut was in the original film), Roseanne Barr, Tom Arnold, and Alice Cooper. Iggy Pop sings the title song, which plays during the end credits over a montage of scenes from the previous films in the series. The “Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise had never been bigger following the release of the fourth installment in the series “The Dream Master,” which was then followed by a TV series titled “Freddy's Nightmares.” New Line Cinema, which was nicknamed “The House That Freddy Built,” wasted no time ordering a fifth film with an idea that was originally pitched during pre-production on Part 3 about Freddy Krueger inhabiting the mind of an unborn child. It wasn't until years later when producer Sara Risher decided to develop the idea further. Sadly, script rewrites and the search for a director, which included both Frank Miller and Stephen King being considered, ended up with Stephen Hopkins leading the project. The reception at the box office was a far cry from previous installments and that led to producers rethinking the future of the franchise. By 1991, New Line Cinema had started developing different projects and the studio felt it was time to move beyond “Nightmare on Elm Street.” So it was decided that the sixth film in the series would be the last. Future Oscar winner Peter Jackson actually worked on a version of the script with several other stories considered including a continuing plot around Alice Johnson and the child she was carrying in Part 5. Ultimately, the decision was made to go in a completely different direction with director Rachel Talalay decided to inject more humor into this installment that eventually including the final sequences being shot and shown in 3D. In the latest episode of Rewind of the Living Dead, we continue with our series on “Nightmare on Elm Street” by talking about Part 5 “The Dream Child” and “Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare”…

Directed by Rachel Talalay, the Final Nightmare looks almost unrecognizable when compared to the early entries as the dark, scary boogeyman has been replaced by something out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. Was this the right direction to go, or had audiences grown tired of Freddy's  bad dad jokes by the start of the grunge era?

This week our hosts sit down to review the climatic episode of Season 2, "The Final Nightmare". Alex and Will discuss the many plot lines that come to an end in this episode, why Peter doesn't look bad as an old man, Aunt May having the hots for her nephew, the first punch thrown in the series, Farley Stillwell's over acting, and the tragedy behind Vulture becoming a flying old Man-Spider. Our hosts also discuss what they're doing in self isolation, how the movie industry could change forever in the near future, rumoured casting choices for Wolverine and Kraven in the MCU, and the release of Disney + in the UK. It's another web-slinger of an episode, so sit back, let your spidey senses tingle and enjoy!

Episode 181: The Crew's discussing Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, and Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Freddy's Dead is the last canonical entry in the Nightmare franchise, and Freddy goes all out Looney Tunes goofy. Lots of fans disliked The Final Nightmare, so New Line Cinema brought back series creator, Wes Craven. New Nightmare's villain is a demon that takes the form of Freddy; trying to invade the real world. The actors are playing themselves in the film; with Wes Craven and Bob Shaye even making appearances.
