"My college roommate had a picture on her dresser of a guy with long brown hair and a beard. I asked, 'is that your boyfriend?' She looked at me like I was crazy. She said, 'his name is Jesus, and yes, he's my boyfriend.'" ---------- Hi! Trapper Jack here. In this episode, I sit down with Debbie Herbeck to hear her incredible story of transformation. Raised in a devout Jewish home on the South Side of Chicago, Debbie grew up surrounded by family, friends, and an entire community that was almost exclusively Jewish. She had little exposure to Christianity and virtually no understanding of who Jesus was. That all changed when she went off to college at the University of Michigan. For the first time, she encountered Christians—not just in passing, but as roommates, classmates, and friends. One of them stood out—a vibrant, confident Catholic student who lived her faith boldly. That friendship, combined with an unexpected assignment on the Book of Romans, opened the door to questions Debbie had never considered. But what truly shifted everything for her was not just intellectual curiosity—it was a series of personal encounters with Jesus himself. First, in a vivid dream. Then, in a powerful, tangible experience that left no doubt in her mind that God was real, active, and calling her into something greater. Welcome to our "Mid-Week Reflection," a weekly podcast brought to you by Cove Parish. Each week, a member of our parish community will guide us through a thoughtful exploration of who God is. Through personal stories and reflections, we aim to deepen our understanding of the divine and its presence in our lives. This week's faith journey doesn't have to be alone, as we seek to answer the timeless question: Who is God? Today Phil is looking at Psalm 14:1 and will explore God is real and exists. In addition to the podcast, you can also watch the video on Facebook and YouTube. Today's reading is a summation of what we have learned so far. Man is made for God, and we are born with a capacity for knowing God. Using our senses, listening to our consciences, and employing our gift of reason, we can know with certainty that God exists. Fr. Mike explains how we live freely only in communion with our Creator, even if we are limited in our capacity of comprehension. Knowing this compels us to share our faith in God with those who do not yet believe. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 44-49. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/ciy Please note: The Catechism of the Catholic Church contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.
Ryan Reed has been an open book when it comes to discussing his recovery from addiction. His journey led him to several stints into rehabs and sober livings, but he still struggled to stay clean. Not even a thirteen-day coma from an overdose was enough to make him give up drugs and turn his life around. It would take a supernatural encounter with GOD to finally lift the veil of darkness off of him and bring him to restoration, renewal and redemption. Since that moment he has been a recovery advocate fighting for others to enjoy the same peace and serenity that he found through Jesus Christ. Through hard work, body building and helping others, he has become an instrument of hope for those seeking help from addiction. The secret to his success is one that he will shout out loud for those who are ready to embrace it. He says that the blood of Jesus Christ is real, and healing is possible for those who seek him. Find out how in an episode that we simply call - REED OUT LOUD! GOD IS REAL!
Send us a textIn our quest to understand suffering and purpose, we reflect on profound biblical accounts like Psalm 73 and the story of Job. The age-old struggle with the existence of evil under a good and just God is laid bare, as we discuss the balance of life's trials and triumphs. We emphasize the power of expressing emotions to God, advocating for an honest and genuine relationship that remains rooted in faith, even amidst life's deceptions. Through the raw prayers found in the Psalms and stories that unveil the sometimes misleading nature of worldly success, we find solace in the promise of the Holy Spirit and the ultimate plan that transcends our comprehension.Support the showSocial Media/Follow Us: Website:https://www.calledbygodpodcast.com/IG: https://www.instagram.com/cbg.podcast/Twitter: https://twitter.com/CalledbyGodPodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@calledbygodpodcast

In this 'EPISODE 383 ARE ALL PROPHECIES ALREADY FULFILLED THAT MUST BE FULFILLED BEFORE CHRIST JESUS CAN COME BACK? NO WAY! PROPHECY TEACHERS THAT SAY THEY ARE FULFILLED ARE SADLY MISTAKEN! OBADIAH AND MATTHEW', author/speaker and your host Elbert Hardy, proves there are several Prophecies in the Old and New Testaments that are still not fulfilled. Could it be IN the book of Obadiah and how is it possible, then, being written some 840 years before Jesus was even born? That puts it among the earliest of Prophetic writings, some 2,864 years ago, yet it foretells being fulfilled in our nightly News? This proves there IS a Great God, who alone among all forms of worshipful writings actually knows our future? This powerful message challenges us to examine the reality of God in our lives. It urges us to move beyond nominal faith and truly live as if God is real. Pastor Mike draws from 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 and Isaiah 55:8-9, reminding us that God's ways are higher than ours and that our current afflictions are light compared to the eternal glory awaiting us. If God is real, it should fundamentally change how we approach life, relationships, and our inner world. We're encouraged to focus on our spiritual growth rather than external appearances, and to view our challenges through the lens of eternity. This perspective can transform our approach to pain, waiting, and discomfort, helping us trust in God's greater plan even when we don't understand it.

Protect Your Retirement W/ a Gold and/or Silver IRA: https://www.sgtreportgold.com/ or CALL( 877) 646-5347 - Noble Gold is Who I Trust! The Shroud of Turin is the single most Divine and inexplicable artifact in the history of mankind. In our view, the science is conclusive to the extent that the three dimensional image of the man on the linen is a negative which could only be seen as a positive after the invention of modern photography. And it cannot be reproduced today by any means. The image depicts a man who was crucified while wearing a cap of thorns who endured a brutal beating bringing Him to the edge of death prior to His crucifixion. Dr. Jerome Corsi believes, as do I, that this is a miraculous "photograph" of the Lord Jesus Christ at the moment of Resurrection. This is the incredibly true story of the Shroud of Turin. More than 200 times a second, someone is googling questions about God—questions like, “Is God Real?” Well, Google offers 3.7 billion results in less than a second, but which answers can we trust? We want to know if God really is real, and if He is real, does He really care about us? Well today, author, investigative journalist, and former atheist Lee Strobel will help you know with confidence that God. Is. Real. Lee addresses the big stumbling blocks that make people question the reality of God, including… Is there a contradiction between God and science? If God is real, why is there suffering? If there is a God, why doesn't He make Himself obvious? You'll appreciate how Lee not only addresses the question of God's existence, but also deals with the psychology of it, the emotions of it, and the science behind it. So that means this conversation is for skeptics and believers alike! If you believe in God, this is going to affirm your faith and equip you to share with others who may not. Plus, it will address any concerns you have about doubting or questioning God's existence. And if you're a skeptic, you'll want to listen as Lee puts his award-winning journalist skills to work. He presents a really great case for the reality of God based on empirical evidence to help you process the facts logically and rationally. So, let's dive into the ultimate question: “Can we really know God is real?” SHOW NOTES: 413Podcast.com/IsGodReal
