I recently began to realize there are some parallels between podcast editing and life, in that they both require embracing messiness. Whether it's editing episodes for clarity, or juggling unexpected house guests and toddler tantrums, I challenge you (and myself) to consider how our own imperfections make us better, more human, and ultimately, more capable of love and connection. This isn't about achieving flawlessness; it's about understanding how our imperfections are essential to our growth, our relationships, and the lives we're creating. Join me for a thought-provoking conversation about self-acceptance and the unexpected beauty of imperfection. Ep #293 - Humanity's Growth Spurt! - A Solo Show with your host, Susan Burrell Welcome to the month of October 2024. Seriously, where does the time go? Hard to believe we are entering the last quarter of the year. The overall theme for 2024 is BE Potential. And the specific theme for October is: Ascension / Accessibility / Adventure. As I began to meditate and explore what I would share in this podcast random words began to drop into my psyche. Words like: Become and Discombobulated. And because I like to know the dictionary description of a word(s) I had to look up Discombobulate. Here's what I found. It's American slang. It means, confused, upset, disconnected, disorder. And I realized that has been my experience for most of 2024. I have felt out of sorts and disconnected. And at times it has been very uncomfortable. It reminds me of what we go through physically when we experience a “growth spurt.” And this can also be applied to our emotional and spiritual growth. Sometimes chaos and rapid feelings of change ensue that make us feel off balance – similar to a growth spurt. I believe the entire planet is going through a growth spurt. A consciousness growth spurt. Similar to what we go through as children when we are moving from our childhood age to our adolescent age. It includes getting confused, being disconnected and feeling exhausted. These are all ascension symptoms. This is a good thing. I chose to see it as good growth despite the appearance of “negative” symptoms. These feelings are an indication that we need to step back, observe and see what is showing up for us individually and for the whole planet. I have made a conscious choice to be Gob-smacked. Another word that dropped in. It means: Astounded, astonished. And I believe it comes from a high frequency of love. We can shift our perspective and see everything through the eyes of love by being gob-smacked. I am committed to BEING. And to become what I am meant to be. I invite you to listen to your inner guidance. Become gob-smacked in your daily living. What is it that is wanting to be expressed now? Perhaps you too are experiencing a growth spurt. This story is a bit vulnerable, but the lesson I learned felt important enough to share. If you've been a listener for a little while you're likely familiar with all of the work I've done over the years to detach my identity from my physical appearance, so that's what makes what I'm sharing that much weirder. My experience was a total eye-opener that confidence is a mindset, NOT a number. I realized that how I feel about myself has way more to do with my attitude than my weight. And let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. I hope this serves as a refreshing reminder to you, because I know I needed it, too. This is my second year of having my garden, and I've been struggling with this morning glory infestation that I thought I had under control at the end of last year. It's like no matter what I do, it just keeps coming back. It's a constant battle, and it's got me thinking about how similar it is to our struggle with self-care. Sometimes, we neglect our own needs, thinking we can push through. But just like the morning glory, those neglected needs can eventually overwhelm us. It's a reminder that self-care isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. Even small steps, like taking a few minutes for yourself each day, can make a big difference. Tubi is having a good run. As of May, the free, ad-supported streaming service was taking 1.8% of monthly television viewing across streaming platforms, tying with Disney+ and beating Max, Paramount+ and Peacock, according to Nielsen. It could be considered a win in the streaming wars. Tubi, though, doesn't consider itself to be part of said wars, according to Tubi CMO Nicole Parlapiano. “I feel like we're watching the war,” she said. “The relationship in entertainment [between streaming platforms], which took me a lot to understand was, we're not all at war because we all need each other in a way.” On the latest episode of the Digiday Podcast, Parlapiano shares her perspective on the so-called streaming wars, pitching Tubi's multicultural viewers and the streaming platform's growth track.

Dallas may soon have another feather in its cap when it comes to attracting people, businesses and growth to the region. Some of the world's largest financial institutions just announced the launch of a new stock exchange in Dallas that could be a catalyst for more business and population growth. Some are even speculating that the Texas Stock Exchange will help turn Dallas into a global banking hub that could rival Wall Street. Hi I'm Kathy Fettke and this is Real Estate News for Investors. Please sign up for a RealWealth membership at newsforinvestors.com to find out how Dallas is benefiting RealWealth investors. We have a property team there that can help you find rental properties in high-demand areas. As for this new Texas Stock Exchange, Mike Rosa of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce told Bisnow: “This might tip the scales” and attract even more corporate relocations to Texas. The Longhorn State is already known as a business-friendly state with a low cost of living and no state income tax. Bisnow points out that the business environment that is attracting so many companies to move to Texas is also great for a new stock exchange. Commercial site selection expert John Boyd lists the advantages as a great mid-continent location in the central time zone, airport and seaport connectivity, and already existing financial and cybersecurity companies. Plus, he says of the biggest backers: “Can you think of two better supporters than BlackRock and Citadel?”... ...At RealWealth, we have been watching the real estate boom in Dallas for a long time, and it's still going.
