It stars Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. The series follows employees at the biotechnology corporation Lumon Industries that have undergone "severance" — a medical procedure that ensures they retain no memories of the outside world while at work, and have no recollection of their job once they leave. This results in two distinct personalities for each employee: the "innie," who exists solely within Lumon, and the "outie," who lives their personal life outside of work. Join in as hosts Michael Shields and Ryan O'Connell take you into the depths of the MDR department on the Lumon Industries' severed floor to answer all of your pressing questions about the Apple TV+'s smash hit.Timestamps: Minimal White Lotus & "Guilded" Age of Television talk until 15:08, and the rest all Severance! Praise Kier, it's a Severance Script Apart special! In the spoiler conversation you're about to hear, Dan Erickson – the dystopian workplace drama's creator and showrunner – spills all the secrets that Lumon Industries will allow, about the season two finale that aired last week, and our real-world relationships with work, corporations and personal pain that the show offers a meditation on.The series, starring Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Tuturro and Zach Cherry, debuted on Apple TV+ in 2022 at the exact right time: post-pandemic, a new Zoom-aided groundswell of people found themselves now “working from home” in a way that might be better described as “living at work.” Studies showed Brits and Americans were working longer than hours than ever and tethered to their desks in this round the clock way that made Severance's story – of characters trapped in an endless hellscape of never-ending work – hit in this deeply relatable way. All work and no play… you know the rest.It was a three year wait for season two, but the payoff was worth it. This latest batch of episodes delved deeper into the lives and psyches of Mark S, Helly R and their “Outies” – the versions of themselves who have no recollection of their job once they leave; it's like they're never there. And in doing so, new questions and philosophical dilemmas were thrown at us in the audience about personhood under capitalism, who deserves what rights and what constitutes a soul. Listen out for Dan's revelations about his drastically different original pilot for the show, and his breakdown of every twist and turn in this final episode including that ambiguous line of Helly's – “I'm her.” We also get into the hardship from Dan's life that he's glad he didn't sever from: a period of depression in which he learned there's “power in clawing your way out of a dark place.” It made him the writer he is today – the writer responsible for Severance.Script Apart is hosted by Al Horner and produced by Kamil Dymek. You might know Britt Lower as Helly R. on the hit series “Severance,” but she makes no less of an impression playing a librarian in the new Canadian indie film “Darkest Miriam.” The actor joins Tom Power to tell us how her love of libraries helped her bring her character Miriam to life and what it took to prepare for her “Severance” role — like studying trapped animals and people under interrogation. She also discusses her 2020 short film, “Circus Person,” and how it kind of comes full circle with her current projects. In case you missed it, last week Tom spoke with “Severance” stars Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry. You can also check out guest host Talia Schlanger's conversation with “Darkest Miriam” director Naomi Jaye.
As we say goodbye to the Apple TV+ phenomenon that is 'Severance' — hopefully not for too long — we decided to examine the settling dust to figure out whether the show's second season managed to stick the landing.Ebube brings Chinedu in once again to address the finale's biggest questions, and this time they're joined by Bankole who has a lot to say about the show's seasonal arc and the online discourse that's stemmed from it.They start by trying to decide whether the season worked as a whole, and then go on to dissect the emotional heart of the show, and how it reveals that the finale's outcome was inevitable. They also address the show's potential missteps, as well as the internet's hot takes, to figure out which gripes are justifiable before discussing the show's impact on the modern TV landscape. So tap in. The hit series “Severance,” which just finished Season 2, managed to knock “Ted Lasso” out of its place as the most-watched show on Apple TV+. That's partly due to its premise, which explores a nightmarish experiment to enforce work-life balance by splitting your consciousness into two. There's the you that goes into work (your “innie”) and the you that lives outside of work (your “outie”). Actors Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry — also known as their characters Mr. Milchick and Dylan G. — sit down with Tom Power to discuss all things “Severance,” including what it's been like on the inside (eh?) as this show takes over the world, and their famous dance scene from Season 1. If you're looking for more about “Severance,” keep an eye out for Tom's upcoming interview with actor Britt Lower.

Zach gives a spoiler review of season 2 episode 6 of the Apple TV Plus original show Severance starring Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricial Arquette, Marc Geller, Sarah Bock, Bob Balaban, Alia Shawkat, Stefano Carannante, and Gwendoline Christie.
It's a typically great show this week as host Neal Pollack welcomes the heavily compromised but still insightful Stephen Garrett, who worked on the trailer for the Brazilian Oscar nominee I'm Still Here. But Stephen would have to have a heart of stone to not like this beautiful and thoughtful movie, and he doesn't. Neal is full of praise for the film's passionate defense of human rights, and its beautiful elegy for a time and place that's no more. And they are both enthralled, as is everyone else, by the lead performance of Fernanda Torres, who, like her character in the movie, has called attention to herself through sheer force of will. A great film. Also great, though much less serious, is Companion, a new Black Mirror-style robot sex thriller-comedy (yes, that's a genre now) from writer-director Drew Hancock. Neal welcomes Pablo Gallaga to the podcast for a chat about Companion, and neither of them can find much to criticize, though Neal, still a relative horror noob, seems to like it a bit more than Pablo. But neither of them have anything negative at all to say about Sophie Thatcher, the film's star, who gives a smashing, star-making performance as Iris, a thinking, murderous sex android with a heart of gold, or at least a heart. No one knows what to think about Severance, now streaming in its second season on Apple+, other than that it's the most interesting show on TV right now. Scott Gold joins Neal on the podcast to talk about Ben Stiller's puzzlebox, to praise the cast, particularly Britt Lower and John Turturro, and to hope against hope that Severance doesn't go the way of Lost and that Stiller knows where he's going with this incredibly surreal, and funny, workplace comedy that is about way more than being a workplace comedy. Your innie will love it, and so will your outie. We will allow you both to listen to this episode.

The hit series "Severance" is set in the near future where the distinction between work and life is extreme. After a three year hiatus, the show returned last week to glowing reviews. We're joined by actors Tramell Tillman, who plays the charming yet sinister Mr. Milchik, and Britt Lower, who plays Helly, to discuss the new season.*This episode is guest-hosted by David Furst.
Baby With a Mustache is adopted by a giant chihuahua (Britt Lower). Featuring two new stories: “The White Color Box,” a song about animals working together to solve a problem, featuring special guest Ana Egge and written by Bihann, a 7 year old from Ontario, and “The Villain Who Couldn't Villain,” a story about a villain who decides to seek out a healthier work environment, written by an 8 year old from Oregon named Henry.
