Stored in a centuries-lost Library guarded by the big owl himself, Wan Shi Tong, there's got to be at least one map of the Fire Nation – right? Sokka lies because he believes he's justified, despite their spirit guide's distrust of human intentions. But books and scrolls get sidelined when Sokka uncovers "the darkest day in Fire Nation history" is written in the stars – and coming soon! Looks like the "Moon Problem" could give Aang the edge he needs to face the Fire Lord. Intelligence gathered, Toph holds the fort long enough for GAang to escape Wan Shi Tong's talons... but her sand-blown senses prevent her saving Appa from those pesky sandbenders! With their furry-friend/means-of-travel captured, Team Avatar's is left stranded in the desert. May Professor Zei rest in peace.

If you’re toying with the idea of getting a pet, the first question to ask yourself is: Are you ready for the time, financial, and emotional commitment? Synopsis: The Usual Place host Natasha Ann Zachariah hunts for new perspectives on issues that matter to young people. On this episode of The Usual Place, host Natasha Ann Zachariah found out what blindspots first-time pet owners may have and what they should anticipate when getting a pet.Dibashini and TheAsianPawrent manager Jamie Wong dropped by to share their views about how to assess if you’re ready for a furry companion, the differences between adopting and buying pets, and the financial and emotional commitments of a pet owner. They also brought their furkids with them – Dibashini with her shiba inu, six-year-old Zuko, and Jamie with Yoko, a Bernedoodle (a mix of Bernese mountain dog and poodle), and Bowie, a kerry blue terrier pomsky. The starting point of a pawrent’s journey should start with deciding whether an animal’s personality, type and its age, among other factors, would be a good fit for the family, said Dibashini. Before anyone becomes a pet owner, they should do a lot of research about the breed or type of animal they want to adopt, and what their specific needs are, said Jamie. His advice: Ask yourself honestly if you’re ready for a long-term commitment with a pet. Reflections on Cherishing Childhood Moments In the latest episode of the Dads with Daughters podcast, hosted by Dr. Christopher Lewis, guest Vincent Micelli and his daughters Matea and Luciana, delved into the multifaceted journey of fatherhood. This episode not only offered heartfelt reflections but also provided listeners with actionable advice on parenting and savoring the fleeting moments of childhood. The Fleeting Nature of Childhood Vincent Micelli poignantly reflected on the transient nature of childhood, emphasizing the profound importance of savoring each moment with your children. He discussed how rapidly these formative years fly by and stressed the significance of being present for your child's "firsts" – first steps, first words, and first days of school. For Vincent, these cherished moments form the core of fatherhood, creating a lifetime of memories that contribute to a deep bond between parent and child. Understanding Individuality Matea Micelli highlighted the critical role of recognizing and nurturing a child's unique personality and interests. Tailoring parenting approaches to suit each child's needs fosters a more profound connection and understanding. Matea's advocacy for individualized parenting rather than generalizing roles resonated strongly with the podcast's underlying message of active, engaged fatherhood. Building Lasting Memories Through Small Moments Luciana Micelli emphasized the importance of small, everyday moments and their role in building enduring memories. She shared how simple activities like playing games or indulging in familial bonding became the foundations of their strong relationships. These seemingly mundane experiences not only enriched. The Last Triceracorn: A Family Project Reaches the World The series, titled The Last Triceracorn Book 1 and Book 2, seamlessly integrates elements from the Micelli family's life, blending fantasy with real-life experiences and adventures. Characters like Zuko, the magical bear, and Esta Colo, inspired by Matea's childhood fascination with shadows, create a magical narrative imbued with personal significance. After more than a decade away from writing these bedtime stories, Vincent and his daughters brought their world to life in a printed form. “It was a way to capture the magic of our family's daily life,” he noted. The self-publishing experience, though originally a Plan B, turned into a remarkable family project and bonding opportunity. Dads with Daughters doesn't just offer advice; it provides a community where fathers can share their stories and learn from each other. Vincent Micelli's journey with his daughters underscores the podcast's essential message—every moment counts, and with the right support, any father can leave a lasting legacy. The tale of The Last Triceracorn is more than a series of books; it's a testament to the power of family, storytelling, and unwavering support. Vincent Micelli's story is an inspiring example for fathers everywhere, proving that with effort and love, you can turn dreams into reality and moments into lasting memories.

The Brothers Krynn come back on the pod to share their fan fiction idea, The Kenobi Timeline. Inspired by the Legends novel, Secrets of the Jedi, the story follows the what-if scenario of Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan's lover, Siri secretly having a child. From there events unfold unexpectedly, especially with lesser-known companions of Anakin and Obi-Wan who are the focus of the narrative. Each of these characters has a fully fleshed-out backstory with motivations that weave into but never contradict the events of the Prequels.  As you listen along, you can refer to the character glossary provided by the Brothers Krynn:  Tahlon Kenobi: son of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Siri Tachi (Kenobi), Wields a double-sided Blue lightsaber, his style is Form IV (Ataru variant) Talanis Salazzar: Mandalorian warrior woman, 5 years older than Tahlon. Number one Mandalorian bounty-hunter after Jango Fett Darael Feran: Trandoshan Jedi Master, Wields double-sided Green lightsaber, his style is Form III (Soresu variant), Melirah Stardust's master before leaving the order to join the Jedi, who chose to leave to work with Dooku in the CIS Melirah Stardust: A young Jedi, same age as Anakini with Red hair, born on Tattooine to a Moisture Farmer, she is hot-headed, yet dreams of being a healer. She was Darael Feran's padawan. She is the most gifted seer of her generation. Her style is Form VI (Jar'Kai) (Form IV Ataru Variant) Her right-handed lightsaber is yellow, her left-handed one is blue Mi'kraan Darklighter: A young Jedi, born on the same day, same hour as Melirah, though the two are not related, they share a bond with each other. She is tall and blonde haired, statuesque, the more beautiful of the two. A gentle soul who specializes in diplomacy and teaching younglings. She dislikes violence in all its forms, and has requested to resign her military position, but has been refused. A favourite of Yoda. Her style is Form VI (Jar'Kai) (Form III Soresu variant) Her right-hand lightsaber is Green, her left-hand is Yellow Fergus Feld: One year older than Anakin, a personality like Sturm Brightblade (Dragonlance), is fanatically loyal to the order, and a good friend of Tahlon. He does not trust Anakin and thinks he will turn to the darkside, and in extension dislikes Obi-Wan, a favourite of Yoda, who was abused by his master, Yaduu. His lightsaber style is Form V, and Form VII (Shien/Djem-So and Juyo) his lightsaber colour is blue Grrwyan: A wookie Jedi Tahlon grew up with. He dislikes Tahlon. His style is Form V (Shien/Djem-So) His lightsaber colour is Blue Ivec'leba: A twi'lek initiate Tahlon grew up with, she was sold into slavery, and liberated by Millennia Far'lin. She dies in Tahlon's arms when he is an initiate Jedi Master Chirus: A half-Blind Solustan jedi, who exposed his previous padawan's affair with another jedi, which led her to commit suicide, which traumatized. He later becomes Tahlon's master, and is three years older than Dooku. He dies on Geonosis. His apprentice was a young woman by the name of Yasmina Shen. Her former lover fled with her child to the outer rim, and founded a Jedi cult which her widow and son will end up fighting in the clone wars on the side of the Republic, as Chirus made peace with him three years before he died. Chirus' style is Form VI (Niiman) His colour is Green. Millennia Farland: The daughter of a deceased freedom fighter of Ryloth, Millennia picked up his torch and his movement to liberate all the Twi'leks from the Hutts and the Exchange, she has since become the Senator of Renkloth. (We set the planet in the neighbouring star system next to Ryloth.) She is a firebrand, who is friends of Tahlon, hates the Hutts and consistently pushes for Republican interference in twi'lek affairs, and has become disillusioned with the Senate. She is also given a military commission for the Grand Army of the Republic. Alpha Squad: Tahlon's personal Commando unit. They consist of RC-1515 “Quinze” (Leader), RC-9888 “Zuko” (Demolitions), RC-0109 “Nate” (Weapons) and RC-2898 “Wyatt” (Tech Specialist) RC-1515 “Quinze”: The leader of Alpha Squad, he has a sardonic sense of humour, similar to that of Qui-Gon Jinn. He is also strict, and at times inflexible, and is very shy around beautiful women. He is force sensitive. Nate loves heavy-grade weaponry. He considers his voice a gift from the force. He also loves show tunes and pretty women. RC-2898 “Wyatt”: The Tech specialist, he is sarcastic, a little vain about his appearance, he has a superiority complex in regards to his IQ, and is the quiet member of the team, even as he considers himself a connoisseur of fine arts and pop stars. ARC-Commander 1139 “Hale”: Commander of the 339th Legion, he serves as Mi'kraan's clone commander. Where she dislikes violence, he revels in it. He is cold and calculating, and a General of the highest quality. He was one of the top graduates from Kamino in strategy and tactics. ARC-Commander 3615 “Boom”: Commander of the 431th Legion. Tahlon's clone commander, his solution to every problem is explosives, bombardment, and even more explosives. He is very good friends with Nate and Zuko. He is fairly cheerful by nature. ARC-Commander 1238 “Krath”: Commander of the 436th Legion. One of the most bloodthirsty clone commanders, and is absolutely ruthless. He believes in no mercy, and has a belief system akin to Canderous Ordo, except he scorns the disloyal and self-serving Mandalorians, and thinks that Clones are superior to them, as he does the Jedi, whom he holds in high regard. He is Melirah's clone commander. ARC-Commander 1138 “Crusher”: Commander of the 189th Legion. Another ruthless clone commander with a cold and impatient side, who believes people have to win his respect, as he hates incompetence, and has no patience for fools. He is the finest clone commander in the galaxy. He serves under Fergus, and has been lauded by Mace Windu. CT-1159 Sergeant “Muln”: A rambunctious, duty-obsessed starfighter pilot in the Republic Navy, he serves under Melirah, and is a quick shot, and impulsive pilot. He is named after Garen Muln, the finest pilot in the galaxy.  Darin Pol: A Kel-Dor Martial Artist and security officer who volunteers for the navy, and is put in Melirah's Legion. will continuously reference Justice. He is wise, and the sworn brother of Sergeant Muln Darth Malignus: A Sith Knight trained by a Sith cult that swears itself to Count Dooku and the CIS, he is the top warrior of the cult, and is from the planet Sorrus. His lightsaber is the sith variant of Form VI (Jar'Kai, Form V Shien/Djem-So variant,) He is very much inspired by Dinobot from Beast Wars.

National Dance Day is a yearly day to celebrate dance. It happens on the third Saturday of September. Today's guest is here to help celebrate that day. Judy Gallagher joins me to talk about dance and more! We start things off with one of my favorite shows, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Judy talks about how she first discovered the show, and of course, we have to talk about Zuko and his arc through the series. We also talk about her favorite characters, what kind of bender she'd want to be, and much more. From there, we celebrate Dance for National Dance Day! Judy talks about how she first got into dance and her background with dance. She talks about being a professional ballroom dancer and dance instructor. She also talks about how her students slowly introduced her to her next topic... Cosplay! That's right. Dancing involves costumes and music, some of her students started bringing music from various fandoms and costumes to go along with it, and well, the rest is Judy history! Judy talks about how she went to her first comic convention (MegaCon Orlando!), her shift into doing more cosplay, and some of the characters she's done (or will do!) Nick Pollard, Born in April of 1980, is a world-renowned coach and speaker specializing in People Pleasing, Codependency, and Addiction. With over 50 million views on his social media channels, Nick has become a thought leader in personal growth and change. He ranks in the top 10% of coaches worldwide. Nick had a (in his own words) less-than-ideal childhood. His father was an alcoholic, workaholic, se* abuser. The latter would later push Nick to his psychological end, which landed him in a hospital in 2009. After that, Nick struggled mightily to hold his life together but could not (or so he felt) battle the mounting demons and turned to drugs and alcohol to solve the problem. It did not solve the problem, and roughly 9 years later, a change had to be made. Nick willingly checked himself into rehab, and the PeopleDisPleaser was born. Since then, Nick has traveled the world, learning and helping others and communicating his journey. His love for seeing people grow and the "light bulb go on and then explode" is what he credits, his drive. Nick has been very successful in business, forming and selling many companies. His first entrepreneurial venture, at age ten, was door sales for his car wash company that would later net him enough money to buy fireworks for the Fourth of July. "My parents said we did not have any money. I knew that was a lie, but I went anyway. I have made my own money since." If you ask Nick what he feels the key to success is, he would say, "Do the work. It is not fashionable or even slightly pretty. Just do the work." He enjoys walking on the beach, working out, and traveling. When he is not on the road, he spends time with his two cats, Azula and Zuko, reading, and working. https://www.instagram.com/thepeopledispleaser/ To connect with Jason click the link below! https://stan.store/Jbirdfit Disclaimer: The training is intended for informational and educational purposes, it is not intended to substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, and/or treatment. This is a story about falling in love, taking chances, and of course, Brooklyn.  We met on an app in 2017 and chatted non-stop for two weeks before ever meeting in person. Immediately, we bonded over our shared love of architecture and design, and have been inseparable ever since. Although Jordan is from Las Vegas and Barry is from New Orleans, we've called Brooklyn home for 15 years. Our first dates were biking around Bed Stuy, admiring the beautiful brownstones and dreaming about our future home. Six months into dating, we purchased our first home together – a 130 year old historic brownstone. We know, we move fast!  Our fixer-upper was in need of some major renovations but we needed to squeeze our dreams into our budget. People say that renovating a home is the most stressful thing a couple ever goes through but it became our foundation. We started our own blog and Instagram to document the renovation process and quickly built an incredible online community. We finally worked up the courage to ask one of our followers, Simply Cyn, if she wanted help with her renovation. Her “yes!” completely transformed our lives. Since then, we've completed over 25 projects, expanded to a team of seven, and even wrote a book, For the Love of Renovating, which is available at your local bookstore or online.  When we're not taking measurements, laying tile, or stripping a 200-year-old bannister, you'll find us sipping iced coffees on our stoop, taking our 10-year-old puppy, Zuko, on a walk, and of course, still biking together through our beautiful neighborhood – now as fiancés.  https://thebrownstoneboys.com/ https://www.instagram.com/brownstoneboys/?hl=en

Your Stupid Minds is back with more animation for you! Not anime, but anime-inspired, it's the unreleased in America film adaptation of the comic Gen¹³ from Jim Lee, Brandon Choi and J. Scott Campbell. It's basically if a OVA was slightly less leery and animated like an episode of Batman Beyond. Caitlin Fairchild (Alicia Witt) is a freakin' NERD who is recruited by a shady paramilitary organization. Because of her promiscuous roommate and nothing else, she decides to drop out of college and head to this organization's secret mountain lair, where she learns karate and is yelled at by a Nazi (Cloris Leachman). There she meets Grunge (Flea), a surfer dude, and Roxy (Elizabeth Daily), a smoker. There's also the mysterious Zuko-like rogue Threshold (Mark Hamill) who looks suspiciously like the blonde kid in the cold open. Apparently they're supposed to unlock their Gen¹³ powers, some genetic experiment that killed all their parents and gives them special powers. While snooping in the organization's Secret Files Area, they're attacked by some guards and Caitlin unlocks her powers (gets really strong, boobs get bigger). Soon they all unlock their powers. Grunge turns into whatever he touches, and Roxy can levitate. They fight the Nazi lady in a giant mech suit. Can they escape the facility? Do they even want to? What does this group do? Will Disney ever acknowledge this movie's existence? You'll have to listen to find out!

Comparing Draco to other infamous Death Eaters, we question whether his actions were driven by a desire for status rather than genuine belief in Voldemort's cause. Was he motivated by self-preservation or a latent sense of morality? In this thought-provoking episode of Superhero Ethics, hosts Matthew Fox and Riki Hayashi dive deep into the question of why heroes become villains and where the responsibility lies when they fall. Using examples from Star Wars, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Matthew and Riki examine the complex factors that can lead even the most heroic figures down a dark path.Is Anakin Skywalker solely to blame for his transformation into Darth Vader, or do the Jedi Order and Palpatine share responsibility for his fall? How much did the differing upbringings of Zuko and Azula shape their destinies? And what role did Killmonger's experiences with racial injustice play in his turn?  Through their nuanced discussion, Matthew and Riki explore the tension between personal accountability and the impact of circumstances and institutional failures. They argue for moving beyond simplistic notions of blame to instead ask what lessons can be learned to prevent future tragedies. The hosts apply this lens to their own lives as well, reflecting on how self-examination and breaking generational cycles are key to growth.Other topics covered include:The importance of good mentorship and emotional support for vulnerable youthHow authoritarian regimes can re-emerge in the wake of revolution South Africa's Truth & Reconciliation Commission as a model for societal healingBonus content for members on the upcoming Acolyte show!
