Would we keep the rotation going with Jack Campbell? Should Woodcroft go back to Skinner as he has the better stats to start the season? From there, we looked at Dylan Holloway's spot on the roster and whether or not he would be best served to be playing big minutes in Bakersfield. Next up, we welcomed Harnarayan Singh to talk a little bit about his book, On Game at a Time, and what it was like to come up as a broadcaster on Hockey Night in Canada during the fanless games of the pandemic. Another Monday is upon us which means a fresh episode of the Real Life Podcast is all set and ready to ease you back into your workweek. This week, the guys covered the first week of the NHL season, the goaltending situation here in Edmonton, and welcomed Harnarayan Singh from Hockey Night in Canada. Kicking things off, the guys got started with a look at the Edmonton Oilers' slow start and whether or not anyone is ready to hit the panic button. After getting pummelled by Montreal on Saturday, some fans are already writing the Oilers off, so the guys tried to get to the bottom of what's gone wrong and what needs to change to ensure the train gets back on the rails. Speaking of things going wrong, the goaltending issues in Edmonton are at the forefront and the guys took a few swings regarding how this will play out even with Troy Grosenick on the way after being claimed on waivers from the LA Kings. Lastly, the guys welcomed Hockey Night in Canada's Harnarayan Singh to the podcast for the second time to talk about his English play-by-play debut and how much it meant to him to get the opportunity to get the call on opening night. Singh also offered his observations from around the North Division, including some of his favourites in the division as well as what the Oilers need to do to turn things around.  Hosted on Acast. This week, the boys were thrilled to welcome Harnarayan Singh from Hockey Night in Punjabi to talk about his love of the game, his journey into broadcasting, and a whole lot more from his book, 'One Game at a Time: My Journey from Small-Town Alberta to Hockey's Biggest Stage.' To start off the Monday episode of Real Life, the boys jumped in with a look at how they did this past weekend in the world of sports betting, including Baggedmilk bragging about how Scott Hastings from OddsShark made him some money. From there, the guys discussed how bizarre it is to be stuck in the middle of the offseason despite this normally being one of the best time of the year for sports. In a normal year, October would be the time when basically every sport would be playing games and it's an incredible bummer to have everything shifted the way it has as a result of COVID-19. With the nonsense out of the way, the boys were thrilled to welcome Harnarayan Singh to the podcast to talk about his new book, 'One Game at a Time: My Journey from Small-Town Alberta to Hockey's Biggest Stage.' From his time growing up in rural Alberta to having a goal call go viral in the Stanley Cup Finals to landing atop of the best seller's list, Harnarayan was an amazing storyteller and it was wonderful to hear him speak about his passion for the game and the drive that led him to follow his dreams despite any barriers or hurdles that were thrown his way. Despite being so generous with his time, the interview absolutely flew by and we're certain that it's a conversation you need to hear. You can pick up a copy of Singh's book here.  Hosted on Acast.
