Affectionately called the Lady with Three Names, Oakland Bay Area's darling, Lena Byrd-Miles has been singing since she was 4 years old. Coming from a musical family, she launched her singing career at her grandfather's church where she lent her gift until relocating to her current home church where she serves as Worship Leader alongside her husband Tobias Miles, the Minister of Music. One of the most sought-after vocalists in contemporary gospel, her sultry, soulful, and extraordinary vocal prowess has mesmerized musicians and artists alike. Her gift has opened many doors and was recently used to soothe the souls of many onlookers and family members attending DMX's funeral service where she sang the Clark Sister's “You Brought the Sunshine” with Kanye West's Sunday Service. Her vocal style sparked the interest of Grammy® Award-winning producer and My Block Inc. President, Warryn Campbell. Soon after, she inked a deal, and now joins the ranks of the “My Block” family with artists such as multiple-award-winning duo Mary Mary, Erica Campbell, JoiStaRR, rising star Jason McGee and the Choir, and vocalist Jason Champion. She has also shared the stage with such luminaries as Tye Tribbett, Lalah Hathaway, Deitrick Haddon, Dorinda, John P. Kee, Doobie Powell, the late Thomas TC Clay, and more. And she was privileged to sing with the legendary Edwin Hawkins as part of the New Edwin Hawkins Singers—where it all began. More than an artist, Lena is a wife, daughter, sister, friend, and licensed hairstylist with a unique ability to connect with people. Her innate comedic prowess and infectious laugh draw you in, but her compassion for mankind will cause you to appreciate her heart. As an innovative game-changer, the future is bright for Lena. By taking the torch of the legendary Hawkins family, Lena is continuing the journey of the rich heritage of Gospel music by representing the new sound of the Bay. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/tyrideius-brownlow/support
Jason won the league. It's podcast official. We talk about Jason, lunch, and NFL player comps for each KMFFL member (another draft in which Jason took Daniel #1 over all). To be honest though, we recorded this almost a week ago so I'm not sure what else we discussed. The pod is an hour so there is other stuff to look forward to. Following last podcast's lead, I guess the alternate title for this episode would be Champion Boys. Jason, Joey and I aren't the only champions, much like Joey and Ezra are not the only movie boys, but we are, in fact, all champions. Anyway, take a listen. We're very close to 2k downloads overall. I think we should try to hit that before season 3 is over in honor of Derrick Henry. Hosts: Haircut and D-Fish Guest: The commish KMFFL Sidequest (Is sidequests dead? Asking for a friend)
On this weeks episode, the team continues the conversation, From Toxic to Mindful Masculinity with special guest Grammy Nominated, singer/songwriter Jason Champion! ☎️Your friends and tell them to tune in and don't forget your coffee!
Born in the city of Rock n Roll (Cleveland) David (Dave) Tolliver a.k.a. "Blaq Pavarotti" was destined for music success. Son of a Gospel singer, nephew of a nationally celebrated radio announcer and gold selling BMI award-winning writer, and Grandson of a man who once sang for President Roosevelt what else was he to do. His future was preset like a wedding between two royal families. Starting at age 4 he began singing in the church and eventually directed the children's choir. By the age of 15, Dave was summoned to become a part-time radio announcer under his Uncle Lynn Tolliver. This brought instant success to a teenager in his junior year of high school. For 16 years he would successfully lock down the #1 spots of any time slot he held. During his radio tenure, Dave also spent a stint in the Virgin Islands as co-host of the Big Fat Morning Show. During those radio days, he would go on to interview some of the music's biggest stars from Martin Lawrence to L.L. Cool J, break major records, and work every shift in 5 different formats. The world of the music for Dave started with a bang as the late great Gerald Levert handpicked Dave and Jason Champion for Men At Large who later would contribute to music history and topping charts and selling millions of albums. As well as singing Dave has appeared in over 26 stage plays, 9 movies as well as a host of judging, and hosting appearances across the country. He often takes time to mentor young artists who are trying to find their way in the biz with helpful advice or intuitive vocal and staging techniques. Being a trendsetter for the plus-sized and his love for looking and smelling nice Dave is starting a unisex vest line called "Invested". Vests in his eyes can be worn for all levels of events and can also be used as bulge hiders, which is the main reason for his passion for wearing vests. Through it, all Dave is a survivor and refuses to change his style for the watered-down stylings of today's newer artists. He believes there is a void in the lane of true "Soul Music" and he plans to continue in the same path as his late great brother and mentor Gerald Levert. Tolliver attributes his longevity to staying true and loyal to what got him to the top of the charts before and believes the true music lovers will always recognize and eventually bring him back! Get ready the time a cometh soon! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/letslearnlove/support

How can we diversify services to create market resilience, reduce churn, and increase revenue? What innovative methods can we use to add to the value we provide to customers? To explore these and other questions, NeoNova conducted an industry survey and hosted a small-group discussion workshop at the 2019 NTCA Technology & Business conference. We review the lessons learned from the survey and the discussions at the event, along with recommendations based on the results.

R&B duo Men at Large arrived during the tail-end of the new jack swing era with strong support and creative input from fellow Clevelander Gerald Levert. Expressive vocalists Dave Tolliver and Jason Champion began with Atlantic subsidiary EastWest and released two albums for the label: Men at Large (1992) and the relatively mellow One Size Fits All(1994). They reached Billboard's R&B chart with seven singles from those titles, including the Top Ten hits "Use Me" and "So Alone," the latter of which was a ballad addressed to Tolliver's mother, who had recently passed. Third and fourth Men at Large albums were issued through independent labels during the late '90s and 2000s. After the duo split, Champion recorded contemporary gospel material and was featured on high-profile albums by A-listers Kirk Franklin and Deitrick Haddon. Tolliver popped up on tracks by Rome and 8Ball & MJG and released solo albums in 2009 and 2015. In 2016 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
