Kiss are one of the biggest bands of all time. Are they one of the best? PROG SUPERGROUP COSMIC CATHEDRAL RELEASING DEBUT ALBUM FEATURING NEAL MORSE…CHESTER THOMPSON…PHIL KAEGGY…BYRON HOUSE… ZOOM SPECIAL EDITION WITH EX GENESIS DRUMMER CHESTER THOMPSON ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS Hello everyone and we are back for another edition of Interviewing the Legends… I'm your host Ray Shasho. How do you make an album that is different to what is usually expected of you? One answer is to work with musicians who also have decades of experience and worldwide recognition, plant a few seeds, then stand back and see what happens. For the Cosmic Cathedral project and their debut album ‘Deep Water', this is exactly what Neal Morse did, joining up with Chester Thompson, Phil Keaggy & Byron House. As Keaggy comments: “It was an honor to be invited and included in the making of the Deep Water project with Neal, Chester and Byron.” Much of the album was created from jam sessions where Morse's long-time audio partner Jerry Guidroz put the best parts together, then Morse and the band developed them into songs and epics. “Much of the album, and certainly “Time To Fly”, came directly from the jam sessions, where we were spontaneously creating in the room. Even a lot of the lyrics just came out of our mouths! It was amazing!” What resulted from all this was a more groove-orientated feel, which Morse calls a “prog meets yacht rock meets The Beatles” kind of album, with an unmistakable jazz fusion influence: “These guys are real groovers: even if they're playing proggy stuff, it has more of a Steely Dan feel to it, but when Phil and I start singing it sounds like The Beatles! In Deep Water, the ‘New Revelation' section is based on a jam that turned into something that could have been on a Sting album! So, there's a lot of variety here.” And Chester Thompson says, “I am super excited for people to hear this album. There was great communication between all the players. One of my favorite projects I've ever been a part of!” And coming from someone who's played with Genesis and Frank Zappa, that's quite a statement! The album will be available as a Limited CD Digipak, Gatefold 2LP & as Digital Album. Overtrail.

If meditation isn't your thing yet you still feel burnt out, behind, anxious and overworked...this conversation just might change your mind! When most of us think of meditation, we think we have to do it "right" by sitting cross legged, eyes closed, with a straight back and zen music in the background. But meditation is not experienced in this one limited way and is not a 'One Size Fits All' experience! Instead of writing off meditation all together, guest Ann Swanson suggests different meditations for varying situations, even beginning with just ONE minute. Watch this episode on YouTube:https://youtu.be/iEGjDdTzLdEAnn Swanson is the author of the internationally bestselling book SCIENCE OF YOGA and Meditation for the Real World, which illuminates the fascinating science behind meditation with step-by-step practices to help you find peace in everyday life. Although she's now written books on yoga and meditation, Ann wasn't a naturally “chill person,” and meditation did not come easy to her. But her journey of overcoming chronic pain and anxiety led her to India to study yoga, to China to explore tai chi, and eventually to earn a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy. Now, Ann blends cutting-edge research with ancient wisdom to bring you realistic techniques that you will feel inspired to practice whether it's for reducing anxiety or manifesting your dreams! Ann even explains how meditation quite literally changes your neural pathways, making it more likely to manifest your desires...which is exactly how she manifested her very first book deal with absolutely NO following or connections to the publishing world! You might get broken, but you won't be beaten The modern world is obsessed with extremes. So many things are viewed as either/or, rather than the far vaster middle between them. It's all black or white, never mind the shades of grey and myriad of colors between the opposite poles. One Size Fits All never fits all. Yet you're constantly bombarded by messages to conform, to find your accepted place in society, and to be a cog in the machine. When it comes to your mental, emotional, and spiritual health, wellness, and wellbeing, lots of things might break you along the way. Nobody teaches you any better You're taught throughout your youth to care for your body in numerous ways. Diet, exercise, dental care, hair and skin care, all of these get tons of focus and you're taught to mind them. This is not true of your intangible, other elements of your being, however. Thus, stress, fear, anxiety, depression, and uncertainty are invisible illnesses that silently attack the physical via the mental, emotional, and spiritual. This can become quickly overwhelming, especially if you fall for the messages of lack, scarcity, and insufficiency, then turn outwards to solve these matters. However, the first step to any healing when you're broken starts within. It's all about mindfulness and choice You have more power than you probably realize. When you get broken physically, fixing the damage is usually direct. Mental, emotional, and spiritual damage is another matter. There is no One True Way for everyone, with one exception. Active conscious awareness, i.e., mindfulness. Mindfulness practice of this sort begins with becoming consciously aware of what you're thinking, what and how you're feeling, what your intentions are, the positivity or negativity of your life approach, and what you are or aren't doing. So, you might (and let's face it, most probably will) get broken in one or more of the elements of your health, wellness, and wellbeing along the way. However, you won't be beaten unless you allow yourself to be. Broken but not beaten is a choice Some challenges will feel insurmountable in this life. So long as you are here, drawing breath, and capable of independent thought, feeling, action, and intention, you won't be beaten. Unless you allow yourself to be. Everyone gets broken along the way. That's the nature of the human condition. So long as you live, you can recover. There are always resources to help you heal. No matter how you're broken – physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually – something is available to you to aid your recovery. When you get broken you are not beaten unless you allow yourself to be. Unconditionally, you are worthy and deserving of making choices and decisions to heal on any and all levels necessary. This week's Applied Guidance for Mindfulness Tool: Think back on a previous experience that broke you. Were you broken physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or in multiple ways? How did you recover? What did you do to help that? Did you take steps to aid your recovery? Write it all down and keep it handy so that, the next time you're broken, you'll see that you've been broken – but not beaten - before, and can do it again. This Habits 2 Goals episode is FREE for ALL subscribers.“You are perfect and you could use some work.” Self-Help Sucks! One Size Fits All? “The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases.” ~ Carl JungChallenges and Words of Caution:* The “One Size Fits All” Fallacy: As Jung rightfully pointed out, individual differences are inescapable. What works for one person may not apply at all for another. It's crucial to critically evaluate any self-help advice and adapt it to your unique personality, circumstances, and needs.* Having said that, The Habit Factor's P.A.R.R. methodology (habit-tracking process) provides a broad, application framework designed to ‘fit' any person regardless of the goals or habits they are looking to develop.* » https://thehabitfactor.com/templates* The Cult of Positivity: While optimism is valuable, ignoring negative emotions or experiences can be counterproductive. It's important to acknowledge and process the full spectrum of human emotions for healthy growth.* The Risk of Comparison and Inadequacy: Comparing ourselves to idealized versions of success portrayed in self-help materials can lead to feelings of inadequacy and discouragement. Remember, progress is rarely linear, and celebrating your own unique journey is key.Advantages of Self-Help and Personal Development:* Empowerment and Self-Awareness: Self-help resources can equip individuals with valuable tools for self-reflection and growth. By exploring different methodologies and perspectives, we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, our strengths, and areas for improvement. This newfound self-awareness empowers us to take charge of our lives and make conscious choices aligned with our values.* Skill Development and Knowledge Acquisition: The self-help industry offers a vast array of resources focused on acquiring new skills and knowledge. Whether it's mastering communication techniques, improving time management, or fostering emotional intelligence, these resources can provide practical strategies for enhancing various aspects of our lives.* Community and Support: Self-help communities, both online and offline, offer invaluable support and connection. Sharing experiences, challenges, and successes with others on a similar journey can foster a sense of belonging and encourage sustained motivation.Final thoughts:Self-help and personal development are potent tools for growth and transformation. However, approaching them with a critical and discerning eye is crucial. The most effective path to self-fulfillment lies in embracing your individuality and tailoring these resources to fit your unique journey.Additional:* Download the free habits-to-goals tracking template to cultivate the habits that support your goals here: https://thehabitfactor.com/templates.* Books that may help "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale and "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.* EVERYTHING is a F*cking Story, The Pressure Paradox™ & The Habit Factor®Enjoy the show!~mgP.S.: From the world of statistics: All models are flawed, but some are useful. With this in mind, we asked Google's AI experiment Bard to “break” the “Three Circles of Behavior System” model (perhaps a future post). I like using probiotics that reseed the gut rather than putting in strains that go away as soon as the supplement is stopped.” ”I had no idea that there was a supplement that could be as effective as a prescription medication!! This is HUGE!” ”Research shows that children with ADHD and anxiety often have low magnesium levels, and using supplements can have that great calming effect.” ”My absolute favorite for children with ADHD is Magnesium L-Threonate because it can cross the blood-brain barrier and deliver magnesium directly to the brain, which, as you can imagine, is really helpful for kids with ADHD.” ”One of the best natural ways to get more Vitamin D is to get outside in the sunlight!
It's another Aaron's Audio Audibles, and this time we welcome our friend Nick back to review one of our co-host's favorite disks, "One Size Fits All" by the evil genius of Laurel Canyon, Frank Zappa. Homeschooling has really come up in the world thanks, in no small part, to the pandemic we all just lived through. In this episode we get to learn from 3 parents who share heartfelt insights that have led to, literally, expanding and deepening their definitions of parenthood, family life, and even how they perceive the role of education for kids, and for ourselves. Of course we got into one of the main issues people raise around homeschooling: socialization / social-emotional learning… We explored some realities about different kids' developing sense of self, experiences and influences that crush a healthy sense of self, and what it looks like when a healthy sense of self has not been crushed. This was definitely not a Black + White, Either/Or, One-Size-Fits-All kind of conversation… in other words, some kids sense of self develops much better away from the big school environment, while for other kids it's the exact opposite. One of the many things I so much appreciated about this conversation was the openness and flexibility, dedication and love with which each of today's parents addressed the wide variety of their homeschooling challenges, including curriculum selection, finding meaningful and supportive community, homeschooling multiple children, homeschooling neuro-diverse kids. We even got into the fascinating topics of de-schooling and un-schooling… and identifying personally relevant resources - some of which are included in this show's notes. After this conversation, Emma wrote that she enjoyed our conversation, because it gave her an opportunity to step back and reflect on her family's life through the homeschooling, de-schooling and unschooling lenses, which helped her to know, even more solidly, what she thinks and what she knows to be best for her family's wellbeing! The resources Emma shared (which you can find in this show's notes) are created by current or veteran homeschool mamas who know the territory because they've lived it. "One Size Fits All." Is there any greater lie in the English language? We live in a world of diverse shapes and sizes and types. There is no way to create something that fits everyone the same! Except for the Gospel. The Gospel is a one size fits all Gospel. In this message, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at how Paul informs the Roman church that Jesus is the Savior of the world, not just the Jews or the Gentiles. He is creating a new nation that is founded in Him alone.

GRACE 2 CONQUER - Helping Women Find Freedom through Faith, Fitness, and Truth
When it comes to a One-Size-Fits-All app or program where you just plug in your info and go, without it taking into account YOU…why would you expect anything but failure? We call this a “Unicorn” approach because it could randomly work for some. But the same is true for someone browsing Instagram and seeing someone lose weight doing “xyz” so they try it to see if they also can and they don't. Or your friend has lost noticeable weight and you comment on it and she tells you that she has been making a green smoothie every day and that is causing her to lose weight. What you DIDN'T see in those two examples are the fact that the girl on IG has been beating herself up trying for the results-restricting herself, annnd she's 26 so her metabolism is different than yours. And your friend…she eats nothing usually so her metabolism had slowed down…by her doing a green smoothie, she is actually getting more fiber and nutrients and MACROS which is actually helping her body not starve itself anymore. But do you see how easily we do that? How we go about making these quick decisions and assumptions because of the lie that it must be OUR fault that “this” or “that” didn't work for us? What if you could customize a fitness program all on your own FOR YOU?! Or you could have a coach who works with you to help you discover a healthy, balanced, and sustainable lifestyle including foods that you enjoy while helping you reach your goals? Wow! That sounds amazing to me!! And that's what I do when I work with 1:1 clients, group clients, and I also teach you how to do it on your own if you don't think a coach is right for you at this time. So stop trying to do something ELSE and let's get started doing our own unique plan!!! E-mail me at cara@grace2conquer.com today so we can help you get started or visit my website www.grace2conquer.com
On today's episode, I provide my take on a topic from a listener. S/O to Jose on Instagram. He asked me to talk about if one take on FI/RE is the ONLY way to achieve Financial Independence/Retire Early. I'm here to tell you that I don't subscribe to a "One Size Fits All" mentality. Everyone has a take on what is "definition of the FI/RE" movement; yet we are all on different versions. I share our four lessons as we are on this journey: Run your own lane Comparison is the Thief of Joy It's not "One Size Fits All" Life progresses on Don't allow others methods and philosophies discourage you as you create your own. Stick with your plan and adjust along the way. I would love to hear how you are approaching FI/RE. Feel free to find me on social and let me know.
