In this episode, we answer questions on how colors affect the actions your website visitors take, how to network with professionals in the same field and how to market counseling services as a package. In this episode we answered the following questions:      1. Jodie Gale – www.jodiegale.com “I heard somewhere that using red for your sign-up button or call to action is a no-no. My current website uses a lot of red, as will my new website so I am curious!”            2. Ellie Hodges – www.elliehodges.com “How do you connect with other professionals in your area seeking collaboration without them feeling competitive toward you? Or how do you tell others about services you offer (eg a group program) that they don't when you have the same niche?            3. Helen Larkey –Facebook group - helenlarkey.com “Is it a good idea to offer blocks of counseling sessions a bit like the coaches do? eg 3 months or 6 months I seem to be doing a lot of crisis work in my practice as a relationship therapist someone has had an affair or someone is about to walk out. Clients say that they have got a lot out of the sessions and I have had some wonderful testimonials but when you know there is more work needed and they cancel an appointment and then tell you things are ok so they don't need to come back. Or is this just the nature of the work? Hope this makes sense.” Get the show notes with all the links and resources mentioned in this episode at http://askjulietandclinton.com/74

In this episode, Juliet and Clinton discuss and how one should go about changing the name of their Facebook page. They also provide tips for creating a marketing plan and define email list segmentation and describe how do it. 1. Jodie Gale - http://jodiegale.com/ "Hi Juliet and Clinton. I have 3 Facebook pages: The Psychosynthesis Centre which is aimed at psychotherapists for my psychosynthesis training. Mindful Women (https://www.facebook.com/mindfulwomen/) and now Women, Body, Food & Soul (https://www.facebook.com/WomenBodyFoodSoul/?fref=ts) which is in line with my new narrowed down niche and new website next year). Mindful Women has nearly 1500 followers. I have never really liked the name Mindful Women but my first choice was already taken. My question is, should I just change the name from Mindful Women to Women, Body, Food & Soul (even though I can't change the URL) and delete my Women, Body, Food & Soul page (where I only have 100+ followers so far but the url)? Or should I change Mindful Women to my name Jodie Gale (same issue re URL)? This is the 3rd time I have had to start again re naming/starting pages so on the one hand, Jodie Gale makes sense to me, on the other hand, I think a themed page builds followers faster to do with the interest." 2. Ruth "I feel I market my business in a very scattered way. I don't have a business plan or a marketing plan which may help, but I don't know where or how to make one. I don't even know if it is important to make one or what I would put in it. Can you help? " 3. Jesse - Psychotherapist, Raleigh, North Carolina  "I'm starting to do more email marketing and am having success with sending a newsletter to my subscribers twice a month. I've been hearing that it's important to segment your email list. I'm not sure I understand what this means or how to do it. Jess Mills  "I am a mature age social work student with 12 years experience working in suicide prevention through volunteer and paid work. I intend to focus on suicide prevention and bereavement as my niche. I listen to podcasts, and have considered starting a blog and website, but am reluctant to, as I am still a student and am concerned about marketing myself before I am ready to see actual clients. I am a member of professional organisations and am taking relevant professional development courses in my summer break. Do you have any tips for students who already know what they want to do professionally?" 2. Jodie Gale - http://www.jodiegale.com "When I open up another day when my youngest goes to preschool next year, what is the best way to let potential clients know who have joined my mailing list? It is my main list. I am just thinking as I am writing, should I have had a separate list for this? And should I send a newsletter to my main list noting that I have space opening up?" 3. Louise White - Launceston Tasmania - www.awakenhypnosis.com "I listen to a lot of podcasts and subscribe to emails out of the USA. Renee Burke "If I have $4,000 to spend on my website set up, my business set up costs, plus business consultations, would you recommend to someone just entering job market and looking to attract cash paying clients that they spend $800 on consultations and $2800 on website or $700 on website and $1600 on guidance." 2. Louise White - https://WWW.AWAKENHYPNOSIS.COM "Hi Juliet and Clinton. I really enjoy listening to your show. I'm a hypnotherapist in Launceston Tasmania. Is there a new or different way to use stock photos on websites? Do you have any examples of websites doing this well? Even high quality shots look a bit the same to me. I'm also wondering if photos should be inspirational (i.e. girl with arms spread wide in grassy meadow :)) or should they address the pain of the client (i.e. girl sobbing into a box of chocolates). What's your belief on whether images must include people or whether interesting objects are ok?" 3. Jodie Gale - http://www.jodiegale.com "Hi Juliet & Clinton. My practice has been full for nearly two years. When clients email, they often open up and share their story so I felt the most ethical thing to do was to put a sign on my homepage and booking page as follows, “Please note that my counselling and psychotherapy practice is currently full for 2015 with long-term clients. Join my mailing list to be notified of any upcoming session availability and my upcoming women's workshops. You can check out my Saturday afternoon SOUL sessions where I have space between 1.30–3.30 on Saturdays. You can also contact me for a list of therapists I am currently referring to.” I stopped taking a waitlist as such as I only work long-term and weekly with clients. I have recently had a session space open up for the first time in over a year. I currently have emails from clients from almost two years ago where they have said, 'please contact me in the future if a space becomes available'. How long is too long? Is it ethical to email a potential client from say early 2014?" Get the show notes with all the links and resources mentioned in this episode at http://askjulietandclinton.com/46
