Welcome back to another episode of Hot Seat Coaching, where I help business owners and give them advice for how to make sales! Today I am joined by Raquel who is a licensed therapist with a private practice and is expanding her business to include online sales. Questions and topics we cover: What is one of the biggest challenges you are currently having in your business today? Why might we not follow through with our established plans, and how do we know what the right thing is for us to do? If you're having a hard time selling, think about what makes you buy from someone and apply that to your business. How to find your ideal client, and why we need to be reaching out to the right people for sales. Your first launch is going to be messy, so we need to give ourselves permission to learn from it. “We want to make sure that we're bringing in the right people to the sales funnel, and at the top of the sales funnel is leads. No matter where you are in your business, if you've never sold a client or you are an eight figure business, leads are still the most important thing you need in your business at all times. Then in the center, there is this place that is nurturing and right now what is happening is you are nurturing people. If you're nurturing people in this circle, but they aren't the right people, we're actually wasting time, energy, money, resources, and all these other things, because after nurture comes the buy. If the people in the nurture funnel are not the right people, they are never going to come down to buy.” Connect with Raquel: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.raquel.deluccia/ Website: https://www.raqueldeluccialmft.com/ Podcast: Feel and Find Out- https://www.buzzsprout.com/2277655 CONNECT WITH JILLIAN Join Infinity HERE Follow me: @thejillianmurphy Visit my website: thejillianmurphy.com Join my Free Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup Grab My Happy Juice: http://ltl.is/rxdcgpj

Is your business ready, prices set, retail on the shelves, insurance, website, social media done? Sounds perfect- what could be missing? Clients. The biggest mistake that new business owners make is assuming that clients will come flocking in once you open your doors. Not that long ago you were able to place an ad in your local newspaper saying you are starting a new business and clients would show up. Why? because advertising was limited to a few places and most people got their information from those places. Those times are long gone. Today's client is sophisticated, inundated with ads coming from all directions and overwhelmed with options. There are influencers, product placement in movies and tv shows, and celebrities pushing their own beauty lines. How do we compete with that?In this episode we look at two ways to gain new clients:1) We look at the client's pain points and break them down. 2) We ask the clients for their opinions and feedbackSeem simple? It can be but doing this properly can gain you followers and new clients. Best thing is the clients you attract are your ideal clients! Melia felt tired and frustrated from working 50-hour weeks, something needed to change fast. She would do anything to start her own business but didn't know how to attract clients. Melia knew that if she didn't figure this out in the next 6 weeks, she would need to quit her job of 14 years. Yes, there's a lot of information available on YouTube and blogs across the Internet. However, what would be nice is if she could find a resource that would lead her through the client attraction process successfully, step by step. Let me know if you struggle with any of these. You know that client acquisition is very important for your small business No clients means no cashflow, revenue or income It would be best if you generated a lot of income to become profitable Getting your business to 5-figure months consistently is the ultimate dream If only there was a way to get this process automated or at least have multiple streams of consistent high-quality leads. In this resource, you'll discover how implementing a few simple systems can generate leads that'll help you generate the income and profits needed to go laughing all the way to the bank. 5 Things You're Probably Doing Wrong Before looking at those 5 incredible ways to attract clients let's spend some time looking at the things that don't work. At least when you know what not to do you'll understand the reason why you're not generating leads for your business. You'll also have a better idea of how easy it is to settle for these default or vanilla options in your business. 1. Talking to Everyone Several years ago when I was brand new to business I didn't understand the concept of target marketing. When asked by my business advisor who is my target market, I responded with, "Anyone who needs my services". There's a common phrase in marketing which says, when you talk to everyone, you're talking to no one and this is so true. 2. Not Digging Deep Enough Another common mistake is when you are addressing a specific target audience you are not digging deep enough. What I mean by this is that you are solving a core problem for your potential customers and this core problem has symptoms. For example, when someone is constantly late for all their appointments, what is the real problem? Please don't say that they need a watch. Lol!! 3. Wrong Platform You might not be someone who has difficulty with talking to everyone or digging deep but what about the platform you are using to promote your business? Are you using the right platform where your ideal client is hanging out? Business is so weird, sometimes I find certain types of audiences hanging out in the strangest places. 4. Suffering From Analysis Paralysis This may not be you but there are some people who spend a lot of time analysing everything before taking action. They'll choose 2-3 platforms and go on each one to spend time observing conversations and results others get. However, spending 6-24 months lurking and observing will definitely not bring you leads. 5. Stuck in the Content Creation Phase This is probably the most popular challenge that many new business owners, entrepreneurs and freelancers face. If you are stuck trying to make your content perfect before publishing it then I have some news for you. Nobody is perfect and your client cares more about solving their problem compared to any errors you made. Who Are Your Potential Customers? I know I mentioned this briefly previously but let's take a look at this in a little bit more detail. Understanding who your potential new customers are will not only help you to better customise your research process. It will also help you to coin a message that speaks to them at a deeper level. You'll have much better results if you spend time listing out the things that irritate them or even keep them awake at night. In the previous example,

Does your branding need a little refresher? When last did you make sure that your branding is consistent across all the branches of your business? Branding is more than just the colors you pick or the layout of your website. It's the feeling that you want your clients to have when they interact with you or your business materials. To create cohesion and maintain professionalism while attracting your ideal clients, it is important to be intentional with your branding decisions, In this podcast episode, I share my top recommendations for simple, affordable and high-quality tools that you can use to brush up the branding for your business! In this Episode: A quick recap of what branding is Why consistency is important The basics of branding A quick recap of what branding is Branding is essential to your Canadian private practice because it helps to set your business apart from the rest, makes it look professional, and can put your clients at ease and make them feel excited to work with you. At its core, branding is the experience that you want your clients to associate with working with you. Branding includes your colour scheme and logo, as well as your office aesthetics and business cards, but it ties all these things together into the ‘atmosphere' that you want your business to have. Why consistency is important Consistency creates trust and also allows your clients to recognize you and your work. Something small but effective that I also like to do is to wear black when I see clients – like a uniform, and it helps me to feel prepared for work and allows the clients to also see me in a consistent way. The basics of branding Colour scheme: do some research into color theory and pick some colours that would create the desired effect within your client's mood, as well as some of your favorite colours too. Make sure to get the colour code! Create a logo: this logo will go on your website, marketing materials, and social media postings. ‘My favorite thing is Fiverr – it's an online platform where freelance artists, designers, and copywriters … [are] on that platform, and you can scroll and find so many cool designers and a lot of them are really affordable!' – Julia Smith Check out my tools and deals page where you can find a link to Fiverr to create your logo! Create business cards: business cards are rarely used nowadays, but it is still important and helpful to have a few on hand. There are loads of free and great options to help you design beautiful business cards. ‘Depending on how many [business cards] you need, you might want to go with a business like MOO which I love! Their cards are professional, high-quality, and beautiful, and again you can find them on my tools and deals page … they are just the best types of cards and I highly recommend this company!' – Julia Smith Design a website: make sure that the color scheme and the logo that you have chosen are incorporated into your website design. I love my Canadian online private practice because it is much more affordable to market and brand. However, if you do have a physical office space, be sure that your office and its interior design principles match those of your branding too. Use the same or similar colours to help with consistency and cohesion. How can you attract new clients and make sure you're the right fit for each other? There's so much to talk about when it comes to client onboarding, and part of that is learning how to attract new clients and set the right expectations from the start. A partnership is a two-way street, which means your clients also need to know how they can help you serve them better. The magic happens when there's transparency and you've set those expectations upfront. When you get dialed in because people are looking for an accountant or a tax person, those are not relationships that people just walk out of all of a sudden. Otherwise, they're leaving for two reasons. Either they didn't feel served, or they just couldn't afford you anymore. Ultimately, a partnership is similar to marriage – you have to be in it for the long haul. In this episode, you will hear: The discovery process: things clients should expect Customer service is your number one marketing tool. How selling can be a service The four things we want clients to know upfront Diving into the client to understand them better Putting everything in writing Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Episode 160, Six Ideas to attract new clients! Prospecting! I think I heard some of you say, Ugh. What if there was a better way to gain new clients? Everyone listening to the podcast agrees they want to use the most effective and effortless process to gain new clients. Yes, sign me up; your saying. The reality is that our business success depends on this one word – Prospecting! Find clients that we can help. This step takes a winning mindset, focus, and a system to get in front of our best prospects. We want to identify the clients that match our company profile of success and stop targeting those that don't so we are not wasting valuable time. If your job is to generate leads, below are six ideas to help you get in front of the client faster than your competitor. Yes, there are many ways to prospect new clients. Pick up the phone and call someone. Target your competitor's key accounts and find a way to engage them with your company. Referrals are a tremendous prospecting opportunity if you ask your best clients and the fastest business conversions. In the end, people buy from those they are more familiar with, like, and trust. Here are six ideas that you can implement to attract new clients. 1. Establish yourself as a thought leader By establishing yourself as a thought leader or subject matter expert in your industry, you can show your credibility and trust before reaching out to new prospects. For example, suppose you're in Marketing. You can write an article or post a blog on Linkedin with tips on how to better market your company, post a video that you believe can help companies save time when marketing, write guest articles for industry publications and speak at trade shows and conferences. Be a guest on a business podcast that gives you more exposure to new companies. Make comments, and share or like the content on your prospect's Linkedin or social channels. They will become more familiar with your name and company. Use five or more words to help your Linkedin Selling Index score when commenting. 2. Be a resource. To be successful in sales, you have to do more than sell your product or service. You want to provide research and ideas to help solve their most significant business needs. Become a solution provider versus a salesperson. You will likely gain referrals when you solve your client's most significant business need. 3. Use video. Capture the prospect's attention by adding "video" in the subject line and including a thumbnail image that links to the video. Use it to introduce yourself, provide additional content, or use to humanize your brand. Video is also great to recap your discovery calls as well. 4. Host a webinar. Webinars can create leads for you because you know the attendees have a demonstrated interest in the topic. Not sure you can do a webinar on your own? Think about Partnering with another organization in your industry to host a webinar on a mutually beneficial topic. After the webinar, poll your audience to see who's ready to learn more about your product/service. Consider a polling form that asks them to answer "Yes" or "No" to statements like "I'm ready to learn more," or "I'd like to learn more about [Three Word Meetings.]." You now have a lead list! Follow up with those who responded positively to your poll or post-webinar survey within 24 hours, and schedule time for them to learn more. And don't give up on those who said they weren't yet ready to buy. Remember, no, means Not Yet! Stay in touch over the next few months to see if their buying position changes. 5. Network with a purpose Attend networking events that allow you to connect with the right people. Identify why people are attending a particular event or conference. If the agenda has topics relevant to your ideal customer, or if someone attending is from a company you are targeting, then attend that event. Once you identify the events that will give you the most significant ROI, map out which sessions you'll attend and which happy hours or networking events make sense. 6. Answer questions on Q&A forums. Seek ways to engage your prospects on trends and best practices in your industry — and eventually educate them on your product. Online forums, like LinkedIn Groups, allow like-minded people to post questions to the group members or audience and source answers from experts in the field. Join these platforms, and build trust and expertise. Successful people do things that other sellers are not willing to do. The question is, What are you willing to do? If you think someone could benefit from this episode, share it, rate it, or subscribe for Free on Itunes or Spotify, so you don't miss out on the next three-word podcast.
