Most people that we talk to come in with a story about wanting to improve their lives for the sake of their kids. They want to be around for as long as they can for their kids, and enjoy their life as much as possible with them. Not very often do we get to speak to someone who is preparing to bring a grandchild on board, and is faced with some necessary lifestyle changes in front of them. This was Karen Marshall's story when she first started at CrossFit FUNCTION. What Karen didn't know is that all the small changes she would make in her life would lead to much more than just being able to carry her grandchild around. Today, Karen is going to tell you her story about how she began, how "elementary" her approach might have seemed, and how it became so much more than that. Her consistent time in the gym and efforts with her food translated into LIFE CHANGING health benefits that would add years to her life. And considering that she started this whole journey to be there for her grandchild in her best form possible? That would become mighty important. Turn your volume up, grab your doggo, and let's head out on a walk together as Karen tells her story! ---- Book your FREE No Sweat Intro here: crossfitfunction.com/free-intro Join our FREE Facebook group where we post a ton of content, free guides, e-books, and tips: getfityorkton.com Follow our socials: FB: Facebook.com/CrossFitFunction Twitter: @GotFunction Instagram: @cffunction

Karen Marshall is a documentary photographer and Chair of the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at ICP. We talk about her recent book, Between Girls published by Kehrer Verlag. The project started in 1985 when Karen began photographing a group of teenagers in New York City. A decade older than them, her intent was to look at the emotional bonding that happens between girls at age 16 and document the emblematic relationships that often develop at this time in their lives. 10 months into the project Molly Brover, Karen' first and closest connection in this project, was killed while on vacation and the project became more than its original idea. Between Girls is a 30 year long visual story of the lives of the core group of friends that started with Molly Brover. http://www.karenmarshallphoto.com This episode is sponsored by the Charcoal Book Club, a monthly subscription service for photobook enthusiasts. Karen Marshall offers pre-dating event guidance
2pm ET / 1pm CT / 12pm MT / 11am PT (Outside US: Dial 00 + 1 + 714-464-4891) Viki Winterton interviews Karen Marshall! Karen Marshall saw the spiritual path more as a maze than a roadmap until she connected with the Law of Attraction presented by Abraham Hicks, which opened up a whole new world for her. Through these teachings, she came to know herself on a deeper, more profound level. The breakthrough came as she applied the quantum Pulse clearing techniques to issues of the loop-cycle of re-living old patterns. The changes brought about by the energy clearings were so dramatic that she became certified in the Pulse trainings, offered by Jo Dunning, so she could facilitate these powerful, life-transforming, energy processes to clients so that they, too, might have a life of expansion, unencumbered by the limitations and blocks of the past.
