The CHGO Bulls crew review potential trading partners as the Chicago Bulls will again shop Zach LaVine this offseason. NBC Sports Chicago's KC Johnson affirmed that trading LaVine will be a “focal point” for Arturas Karnisovas this summer. Given the cold market for Zach at the deadline, his existing contract and injury issues, and the Bulls' cap situation, which NBA teams could feasibly make a deal for LaVine? Matt, Big Dave and Will discuss possible destinations for the restless two-time All Star. If the Magic flame out in the first round, will they want Zach's scoring prowess? What about the Kings, who got bounced from the Play-In Tournament after a promising 2022-23 campaign? What kind of return - if any - should AK be seeking for LaVine? Or will he be willing to attach an asset to Zach just to move off his contract? This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit smokeempodcast.substack.comTitle IX started as a modest part of the Education Amendments of 1972; it was the part that prohibited sex-based discrimination in education programs. In the 50+ years since, it's become shorthand for many things: Women in sports, a sexual reckoning, a cultural over-correction, a legal shitshow. What no one ever seems to ask is: Why are colleges adjudicating sexual matters between students anyway? Our guest KC Johnson, a tenured professor at Brooklyn College, began his Title IX education back in 2006, when the Duke lacrosse team was accused of rape. The case became a national scandal, pulling in faculty, administration, lawyers, and the government, with the accused students at the center, though they were eventually exonerated. It's a case Nancy and Sarah discussed way back in episode 10 (“Fabulists!”), and one Johnson spent years investigating and eventually co-authored a book about.Since then, Johnson has become the go-to guy on this topic. Who better to explain the new Title IX guidelines from Biden? Don't forget: Biden is the original crusader behind Title IX's more recent iteration as a way to address campus sexual assault.
Haize reacts to KC Johnson reporting that moving Zach LaVine will be a focal point for the Bulls this offseason and goes over why it makes the most sense. Megyn Kelly opens the show by revealing for the first time she voted for Donald Trump in 2020, the reasons why that relate to her concerns about her daughters and son, Biden's outrageous changes to Title IX that help "trans" women but hurt biological women and men, the way it endangers girls and harms the due process rights of boys and men, and more. Then May Mailman and Inez Stepman of the Independent Women's Forum join to discuss director of Independent Women's Law Center, and Inez Stepman join to discuss why Biden's new Title IX rules will hurt biological men and women, the infringement on parents' rights with these changes, why misgendering can now be punished as sex discrimination, how his changes to stop discrimination actually leads to discrimination, and more. Then KC Johnson, author of "The Campus Rape Frenzy," joins to discuss how Biden's new Title IX rules will ruin men and boy's due process on campuses, examples of when male students were wrongfully accused of sexual assault in cases on campuses, and more. And Alex Clark, host of "The Spillover," and Mary Morgan, host of "Pop Culture Crisis," join to discuss how young girls and women must fight back over radical gender ideology, campus degeneracy that has become a norm, the outrageous viral post from Andrew Tate and his influence with boys and men, whether the birth rate is a problem in America, "red pill" conservatives in our culture, a man setting himself on fire in front of the Trump trial, and more.
