Despite being the most studied supplement of all time, creatine is making a big resurgence. That's why we decided to rebroadcast this highly informative episode, that is more relevant now, than when it was originally posted. It's been the hot topic in the health podcast space, as new scientific evidence is showing creatine is about more than looking big, but has big and important effects on brain health and overall longevity. But, like all things, creatine needs to be handled with care. It needs to be the right type, at the right dose, at the right times, with the right movement and for the right person. That's why it was fundamentally important for me to get a true creatine expert on the show, Dr Darren Candow.Dr. Darren Candow is a professor specializing in exercise physiology, nutrition, and aging. He supervises the Aging Muscle and Bone Health Laboratory, where the primary research focus is to develop effective lifestyle interventions involving nutrition—primarily creatine monohydrate—and physical activity, particularly resistance training. These interventions aim to improve muscle, bone, and brain health and function, with both practical and clinical relevance. To date, Dr. Candow has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, supervised more than 20 MSc/PhD students, and secured research funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canada Foundation for Innovation, the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Nutricia Research Foundation.Join us as we explore:Everything about creatine!  The Chicago Bulls front office reset may be the most important move of the entire offseason.Haize breaks down why Artūras Karnišovas failed as the leader of the Bulls' basketball operation — not because he was a bad person, but because his process, communication, player evaluation, and refusal to choose a real direction left Chicago stuck in the NBA's middle for years. From reported tunnel vision on players like Patrick Williams, to poor internal communication, to staff members feeling ignored, the previous front office created a Bulls team without clear organizational alignment. Now, Bryson Graham has not proven he can build a contender yet — but through one offseason, the process already feels different. Graham has publicly acknowledged a rebuild, opened up collaboration across scouting, analytics, player development, and basketball operations, hired Tiago Splitter to match the roster timeline, and built around young pieces like Caleb Wilson, Dailyn Swain, Matas Buzelis, Josh Giddey, Noa Essengue, and Nic Claxton.Haize also explains why Graham still deserves criticism for the second-round pick decisions, but why his willingness to take accountability matters.

In this episode of When She Serves, Krista Fox sits down with veteran missionary Leona Karni, whose more than four decades on the mission field have taken her from Israel to Thailand to Liberia and beyond. Leona shares her testimony from the beginning — a childhood altar call at age nine, a season of rebellion and drug use as a hitchhiking Buddhist in 1970s California, and the moment God spoke audibly into her apartment and set her on a path back to Him.Leona also opens up about the year she spent studying Hebrew Scripture with her Israeli husband to determine for herself whether Jesus was the Messiah, and the surprising verse in Exodus that God used to settle the question for good. From there, the conversation follows her calling into full-time missions: a prophetic word spoken over her at a roadside rest stop in Louisiana, a jaw-dropping story of buying a house with a single dollar and no income, and eleven and a half years serving trafficked and at-risk children in Thailand. Now in her 80s and living in Bradenton, Florida, Leona is still stepping out in faith — currently working to launch a Bible school in the Peruvian jungle and to build a network of women across South America who intercede for pastors and churches. She and Krista talk candidly about discerning God's voice, pushing through seasons of doubt, and why being "used of the Lord" is still, after all these years, the greatest joy of her life.Leona's childhood introduction to the gospel and her years walking away from faithComing to Christ after studying Hebrew Scripture to test whether Jesus was the MessiahA prophetic word delivered by a stranger at a roadside rest stopThe remarkable story of buying a house in Chestertown, Maryland with a one-dollar down paymentEleven and a half years on the mission field in Thailand working with children vulnerable to traffickingCurrent work in Bradenton, Florida, including plans for a Bible school in the Peruvian jungleAdvice for discerning God's call and pressing on through seasons of doubtLeona is the author of several books available on Amazon, including Chosen in Love, which tells the story of her inward journey from anger to the freedom of God's love as she ministered around the world.

Anthony Davis rumors are back — this time with John Wall hinting that the Chicago Bulls could be a potential landing spot if the superstar big wants out of Dallas. On today's episode of Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down why the idea of Anthony Davis is tempting… but the timing and price don't make sense for where the Bulls are right now. With Davis owed around $60 million per year and a history of missing significant time, gutting $90 million in expiring depth and draft capital to chase a fragile star could derail the long-term vision Artūras Karnišovas has finally built toward. Chicago just escaped the era of bloated, bad contracts — they can't sprint right back into one.Haize also dives into the Bulls' concerning defensive regression during their four-game skid. After starting 6–1 with strong perimeter defense, Chicago has fallen near the bottom of the league in defensive rating, opponent field-goal percentage, and points in the paint allowed. From Giannis Antetokounmpo and Donovan Mitchell to Victor Wembanyama and a shorthanded Pistons team, opposing teams have been feasting at the rim.But it's not all doom and gloom. Ayo Dosunmu, Josh Giddey, and Matas Buzelis sat down together and gave real insight into this team's chemistry, accountability, and growth. The young core's bond and willingness to accept tough coaching from Billy Donovan is a big reason there's still optimism in Chicago — even as they try to rediscover their edge and learn how to close games again.

Rim attacks are down nearly 25%, free throw rate has crashed to bottom five in the league, and the Bulls' assists, rebounds, and turnovers have all dipped to league-average levels. In this episode, Haize breaks down why the Bulls' early-season identity has faded, how injuries to Ayo Dosunmu, Zach LaVine, and Coby White have impacted spacing and playmaking, and why Billy Donovan must ride the hot hand instead of sticking with struggling lineups. We dive into the importance of Nikola Vucevic and Matas Buzelis being consistently impactful, plus why Buzelis' point-of-attack defense is the next leap he must take to approach true two-way stardom. Then we break down voicemail reactions from Bulls fans on late-game execution, Donovan's coaching decisions, the Ayo minutes restriction, and Artūras Karnišovas' trade flexibility with over $60 million in expiring contracts and a $17 million TPE.Podcast Links: https://linktr.ee/BullsCentralPodGet at us:Email: BullsCentralPod@gmail.comTwitter:@BullsCentralPodPhone: ‪(773) 270-2799‬Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/chicago-bulls-central/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

How did MAGA come to control Congress? It's the story New York Times reporters Annie Karni and Luke Broadwater chart in a new book exposing what they call the unparalleled dysfunction of the 118th congress, where Republicans ground federal legislation to a standstill and pushed moderates out, to the point that “the moments Congress worked felt like brief interruptions of a long fall down a rabbit hole.” We talk to Karni and Broadwater about how MAGA extremism became mainstream in Congress, along with the latest political news. Their book is “Mad House: How Donald Trump, MAGA Mean Girls, a Former Used Car Salesman, a Florida Nepo Baby, and a Man with Rats in His Walls Broke Congress.” Guests: Annie Karni, congressional correspondent, New York Times; co-author, "Mad House" Luke Broadwater, White House reporter, New York Times; previous congressional correspondent, The Times; co author,"Mad House" Learn more about your ad choices.
