Deb Rogers' novel Florida Woman was published in July 2022 by Hanover Square Press, an imprint of HarperCollins. Called "a bewitching debut" by Publisher's Weekly, Florida Woman was featured as an Indie Next Pick by the American Booksellers Association. Deb has lived and traveled throughout Florida working as an educator, policymaker and victim advocate, and she now lives on the Atlantic side of the state in the very haunted and very beautiful town of St. Augustine. While she'd love to stumble upon hidden pirate treasure along the coast someday, her daily obsessions tend to be thriller and heist movies, word puzzles, licorice, Florida manatees, and, of course, monkeys. Follow her on Twitter and Instagram at @debontherocks, or learn more on her website debrogersauthor.com. Interviewer Kay Huggins is a creative, the owner of Aphelion Editing and Consulting, and the host of the Raindrop Corner Podcast. As a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida, they have sought to support local artistry, foster thought-provoking content, and aid in human rights advocacy. Kay is an English major with a concentration in psychology. For over a decade, their life has been dazzled with project management, technology industries, logistics, editing, writing, and production. Through the intersectionality of Kay's craft, they aim to champion the community by providing a platform to marginalized groups. Currently, Kay is writing their debut novel and enjoying leisure moments with their fur babies. READ Jamie is a Florida Woman. She grew up on the beach, thrives in humidity, has weathered more hurricanes than she can count, and now, after going viral for an outrageous crime she never meant to commit in the first place, she has the requisite headline to her name. But when the chance comes for her to escape viral infamy and imminent jail time by taking a community service placement at Atlas, a shelter for rescued monkeys, it seems like just the fresh start Jamie needs to finally get her life back on track — until it's not. Something sinister stirs in the palmetto woods surrounding her cabin, and secrets lurk among the three beguiling women who run the shelter and affectionately take Jamie under their wing for the summer. Visit the Florida Museum of Natural History and take a walk through our state's past, beginning in the Eocene epoch (when Florida was underwater).

In Episode 3.03, Dave Pezza and guest host Steph Post (Miraculum, Lightwood) discuss Diane Setterfield's Once Upon a River.
This episode stars Steph Post, author of Walk in the Fire, Lightwood, and, as of today, Miraculum. Steph has been a big supporter of the show and she’s helped us out a bunch the past few years, but this is the first episode she’s starred in since 2015! Don’t worry, we won’t let that happen again. Steph talked to Daniel Ford recently about what inspired Miraculum, her extensive research process, and building characters like Ruby, Daniel, and Hayden. To learn more about Steph Post, visit her official website and follow her on Twitter and Instagram. Also read our review of Miraculum in January's "Books That Should Be On Your Radar." Today’s episode is sponsored by Libro.fm and OneRoom.
Synopsis: Author Steph Post discusses her thrilling Judah Cannon series, including LIGHTWOOD and WALK IN THE FIRE, as well as her forthcoming supernatural novel, MIRACULUM, what it means to write “grit lit”, being the “voice” of a demographic, breaking out of marketing boxes, and the exhaustion of writing a series. Website - Tumblr - Twitter Episode 25 of The Descent Is Easy discusses Day of Atonement, Episode 16 of Season 2 of Shadowhunters. We lament the absence of Luke and Magnus, discuss this weeks' Lightwood drama, disturbing childhood memories of skinning things and ongoing confusion over werewolf law... mostly we raise a lot of questions in this episode and answer very few of them, so if you've been waiting to pitch in with your thoughts on all things Shadowhunter-y, this is definitely the time!
From lightwoodduo.com:
Website - Tumblr - Twitter This episode is unreasonably long. Sorry about that! Turns out brilliant Malec & Climon relationship development, a party put on by Mr. Bane, sangria, lots of cats, Lightwood family drama, sangria, drug addiction and, oh yes, a suicide attempt, will do that to a podcast. Have we mentioned the sangria? We had a vote and the majority wanted the episode in one go, rather than split in half. If you are looking for a natural moment to break the episode, our discussion of the party and the bottle part of the episode starts at 52 minutes.
Website - Tumblr - Twitter In episode 4, we get excited about Izzy's transformation and Magnus's potion brewing; Alec pulls a disappearing act; Clary is a little frustrating; we wax lyrical about Alberto Rosende, and discuss the implications of our first big kiss...
We begin with the pilot, episode 1, The Mortal Cup. We're off to a full throttle start with a jam packed episode. We'd love to know your thoughts! Chat with us: Website - Tumblr - Twitter
Boy, o Boy. There was quite a bit to cover in this weeks episode of the podcast. We were finally introduced to another member of the Lightwood family and we got to see a full on pack of werewolves - yay! As with any episode, I talk about the Alec and Jace drama and man, in this weeks show there was a lot -- too much if you ask me, lol.
