Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, celebrated for her recent roles in films like No One Killed Jessica and Mardaani, is in advanced talks to lead Shonali Bose's upcoming family drama. According to sources, Mukerji has been reviewing scripts for two years and feels a strong connection with Bose's project, which is set to begin filming in September 2024. Junglee Pictures, known for hits like Talvar and Raazi, will produce the film, aiming for a 2025 release. Following this, Mukerji is expected to work on Mardaani 3, the next instalment in her successful franchise with Yash Raj Films.

Rani Mukerji reprises her role of Inspector Shivani Roy. In her previous outing, she uncovered a child-trafficking racket. Years later, Inspector Shivani is now posted as SP in Kota. Still as fierce and a no-nonsense cop, this time around she is being challenged by a psychotic serial killer who rapes and then tortures his female victims . The misogyny mouthed by him is nauseous and the attack carefully planned. We dive into this barbaric world where director Gopi Puthran doesn’t waste much time in telling us about a killer on the loose. Mardaani 2 is a compelling watch that makes you uncomfortable time and again but stays with you for a long time. Written and directed by Gopi Puthran with Rani Mukerji in the lead role, the edge-of-the-seat thriller packs a punch and evokes the desired angst in you, as it highlights the gruesome crimes against women and also delves deeper into issues such as women safety, gender inequality and misogyny. Superintendent of police, Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukerji) is out to capture a criminal (Vishal Jethwa) who rapes young women in a fit of rage before cruelly murdering them. The trouble is, he is always one step ahead of the cops, playing a cat-and-mouse game on his own terms. Mardaani 2 is not the first film to bring heinous crimes under the spotlight but it manages to tap into social consciousness given its timing. As the nation seethes after the horrendous rape and murder of a doctor in Hyderabad and its aftermath, the film once again takes us back to the brutality of such crimes and how we need a firm solution. Though it’s not for the weak hearted, it’s definitely a story that needs to be told repeatedly till these crimes stop.

Extra Special: WAR, The Family Man, Bard of Blood    Episode 44 of Khandaan: A Bollywood Podcast is all about WAR, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. This departure from our Khan focus is due to a number of factors, including the absence of co-host Sujoy, but we wanted y’all to have an episode to tide you over!   Director Siddharth Anand re-unites with Hrithik after the Knight and Day remake Bang Bang, which was all about the chemistry between Hrithik and Katrina Kaif. This time, Hrithik is paired with Tiger, and the screen is nearly set ablaze with their chemistry. And it truly is chemistry unlike anything we’ve seen in Bollywood before. "Bindaz Bol" with Sultan's friend "Govind" urf "Anant Vidhaat". He is a talk of the Bollywood now. People are astonished by his role Salman Khan's friend "Govind" in the Bollywood Blockbuster film Sultan. Anant has beautifully played a role of Govind. He is a great actor, extremely talented, very handsome and down to earth. He started his career as a stage artist. Prior to Sultan Anant Vidhaat has worked in #Mardaani as "Sunny Katyal" and Gunday the film as "Himanshu". Anant has also worked as an assistant director and Second unit director.
