Avatar: Fire and Ash is a 2025 American epic science fiction film directed by James Cameron, who co-wrote the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver from a story the trio wrote with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. Distributed by 20th Century Studios and produced by Lightstorm Entertainment, it is the sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and the third installment in the Avatar franchise. "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" is an American biographical musical drama film starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen. Details about Johansson's potential role are being closely guarded, though speculation has already run rampant about which iconic Batman character she might portray, though being a new love interest for Bruce Wayne in some capacity is a popular guess in the wake of unconfirmed reports that Zoe Kravitz might not reprise her role in the sequel.More than seven years after its original theatrical run, Marvel Studios is bringing Avengers: Endgame, the second-highest-grossing film of all time, back to theaters September 25, 2026 just months before Avengers: Doomsday later that December. Variety and CNN have revealed the star-studded lineup for the 23rd season of Actors on Actors. Some of the participants include Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne Johnson, Julia Roberts, and Ariana Grande. Sony Pictures has tapped Bad Boys For Life writer Chris Bremner to pen a new Men In Black film. Although plot details are not public, sources tell Deadline that when the script is complete, original series star Will Smith will be the first to read it in hopes that he will return to the franchise in some capacity. Prime Video has released the first trailer for the final season of The Boys. The show has an updated release date of April 8, 2026, which will see the release of two episodes. Episodes will then drop weekly, leading to the series finale on May 20th. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 opened to $109 million dollars worldwide over the weekend, a strong opening for the franchise. Additionally, last weekend's champion Zootopia 2 is nearing the one billion dollar mark with $915 million dollars worldwide so far. With the last feature film being Star Trek Beyond in 2016, there's been little movement on both the Chris Pine-led series and new takes on the universe, but this new film will move forward unconnected to anything done previously.Glen Powell in The Running Man was a favored first place winner at the box office this weekend, but was ousted by the sleight of hand of Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the third movie in that franchise. Now You See Me racked up a global $75 million opening, while The Running Man limped across the finish line at $28 million. This marks Powell's first big box office miss, when compared to openings for Twisters, Top Gun: Maverick, and Anybody But You, but the action film did have to compete against Predator: Badlands, which is holding strong at the box office still.Nintendo and Illumination have released the first trailer for Super Mario Galaxy, the follow up to 2023's hit The Super Mario Brothers Movie. The film will hit theaters on April 3rd, 2026. The trailer reveals some new characters and cast members including Bowser Jr. who will be voiced by Benny Safdie and Rosalina who will be voiced by Brie Larson.Amazon Prime has released a new, extended trailer for “Fallout” Season 2. The season begins streaming on December 17.20th Century Studios has released a very short teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, the follow up to the 2006 fashion comedy that starred Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, who are reprising their roles for the sequel. INTRO:I'm Hank, longtime podcaster, filmmaker, and YouTuber, and this is my review of Disney's Predator: Badlands.This is a spoiler-filled review of the movie so you've been warned.BUDGET:Predator Badlands cost $105 million dollars to make. It would appear the 20th Century Studios (a Walt Disney Company) is going to make money. That hasn't been a very common occurrence lately in film.SETTINGS:I didn't like the scaled down look of Yautja Prime. From the lack of scale to the hazy look, I wasn't a fan at all. When I say scale I don't simply mean the size of the area. I like to see expansive worlds that are populated. There were parts of the planet Genna that felt expansive but it mostly felt like we were in front of a green screen for two hours. If your budget wasn't $105 million dollars I'd let it slide.CHARACTERS:Dek portrayed by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. The concept is universal so it works for the most part. I simply couldn't wrap my mind around all the emotional dynamics of a human family coming from Predators.Thia & Tessa portrayed by Elle Fanning. The first several minutes of Thia's appearance were like nails on a chalkboard! She was so annoying that I regretted going to the film. Over time, thankfully, that leveled off. That dynamic works in many different types of movies, just not a Predator movie. She was the comic relief that had a strange motivation that I didn't quite understand because they didn't give us any insight on how or why she was so connected to Tessa. The Tessa version was a one-note villain that doesn't hesitate to lie to Mu/TH/UR.Father is portrayed by Reuben de Jong.Kwei is portrayed by Michael Homik.Bud is the baby Grogu style ripoff. She's even referred to as a baby Kalisk. She's funny and extremely important to the story but the comedy distracts from what a typical Predator movie should be. HITS:The concept of going on an adventure to prove your worth is tried and true. The action sequences work well and are exhilarating in most instances.If they were going for a couples or family movie they hit the mark. I was about 20 minutes in when I said to myself, “oh, this is a couples/family movie.”The marketing appears to have worked as the first weekend was pretty solid.I like that they attempted to go in a different direction with the franchise even though it doesn't work for me.MISSES:This is a predator movie in name only.This is a human storyline portrayed by brand name that sells tickets.The overall look and lack of scale detract from the movie.I didn't sign up for this style of Predator movie. Subverting expectations can work when you stay in the confines of the source material (which they didn't).The father son conflict dynamic is pushed beyond belief.The brother references being saved by Dek but they don't show it.The hunt seems irrelevant to the story which is simply a revenge story. Especially once Dek knows he won't kill the kalisk. So why are we going on this adventure again?They borrowed from too many franchises and genres to list.MOVIE SCORE: 5/10DIRECTION: CWRITING: DCINEMATOGRAPHY: CPOST PRODUCTION (INCLUDES: SCORE, SFX, COLOR GRADE) : DREWATCHABILITY: D1 Awful content = Fails on every single level.2-4 Poor = Terrible on almost every front.5 Mediocre = Some of the content is...
