Sam Raimi is finally back! Send Help (20th Century Studios) finally hits UK cinemas this weekend after rolling out in most international markets last week (& with preview screenings the week before that!). If you watched my most anticipated films of 2026 ranking, you'll know that this was one of my top ten most anticipated films of the year because I love, LOVE Sam Raimi's work, whether it's a big, heartfelt, crowdpleasing comic book film or a kooky, goofy genre thriller. Send Help marks only Sam Raimi's third film in the last decade and a half, and is his first original thriller in over fifteen years. I also love both Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien, and the early reviews seemed to indicate that my hype would be satisfied. So, did Sam Raimi deliver? "Send Help" is an American survival horror film produced and directed by Sam Raimi and written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon. The film stars Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien as an employee and her boss, respectively, who become stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash and attempt to survive while tension rises between them. It is Sam Raimi's first conventional horror/thriller film since 2009's "Drag Me To Hell" and has received positive reviews from critics, and grossed $28 million so far against its $40 million production budget. Raimi was kind enough to spend some time speaking with me during the Sundance Film Festival (while I was sitting on the floor of a hotel hallway trying to avoid the noise of the many people who were around me in attendance) about his work and experience making the film, which you can listen to below. Please be sure to check out the film, which is now playing in theaters from 20th Century Studios. Thank you, and enjoy! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... Let's take stock of the catalogue of carnage to date. We've reached the halfway point of The A–Z of Psychopaths — and before plunging headlong into the rest of the alphabet, it's time to pause, reflect, and ask an uncomfortable question: Who is the worst psycho killer… so far?In this special mid-series episode, I'll rank the most disturbing figures we've covered to date using a deliberately unscientific but brutally honest scoring system — weighing body count, cruelty, manipulation, remorse (or lack of it), cultural impact, and that indefinable “ick” factor. From high-volume predators to sadists, cult leaders and killers who outsourced the violence, this is a top five nobody wants to top — with one name emerging as the most chilling presence we've encountered yet.And just before we move on… a teaser for the next letter, involving fame, firearms, paranoia, and a conviction that didn't end where it began. This is snack-sized true crime, with a warning label — and a reminder that some stories deserve a much longer, deeper reckoning.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is a 2025 American epic science fiction film directed by James Cameron, who co-wrote the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver from a story the trio wrote with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. Distributed by 20th Century Studios and produced by Lightstorm Entertainment, it is the sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and the third installment in the Avatar franchise. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet reprise their roles from the previous films.Cameron, who had stated in mid-2006 that he would like to make sequels to Avatar (2009) if it was successful, announced the first two sequels in early 2010 following the success of the first film, with the then-untitled Avatar 3 aiming for a December 2015 release. However, the addition of two more sequels (four in total), and the development of new technology required to film performance capture scenes underwater, a feat never accomplished before, led to significant delays to allow the crew more time to work on the writing, pre-production, and visual effects. Avatar: Fire and Ash started shooting simultaneously with The Way of Water in New Zealand on September 25, 2017; filming completed in late December 2020, after over three years of shooting. With an estimated budget of over $400 million, it is one of the most expensive films ever made. The film is dedicated to editor John Refoua, who died in 2023, and producer Jon Landau, who died in 2024.Avatar: Fire and Ash had its world premiere at Dolby Theatre, Hollywood, on December 1, 2025, and was released theatrically in the United States on December 19, and has grossed $347.3 million. "Avatar: Fire And Ash" is, like the previous two, an incredible technical accomplishment from the sound, visuals, and score; the amazingly talented men and women behind the scenes have once again transported audiences back to Pandora through James Cameron's epic vision. The Next Best Picture team was lucky enough to spend time with a few key people in charge of bringing that vision to life. First up, we have Brendan Hodges's interview with composer Simon Franglen, then we have my interview with production sound mixer Julian Howarth, and then we circle back to Brendan one more time for his discussion with the visual effects team, including EP/Visual Effects Supervisor Richard Baneham, Visual Effects Supervisor Eric Saindon, and Animation Supervisor Dan Barrett. Please be sure to check out the film, which is now playing in theaters from 20th Century Studios and is up for your consideration at the 98th Academy Awards in all eligible categories. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesThe potential sale of Warner Bros Discovery has been a hot topic in recent weeks, but no one could have predicted the escalation and heightened stakes the bidding war has reached as Paramount CEO David Ellison announced a hostile takeover bid to the tune of $108.4 billion in response to what he described as Netflix's inferior $82.7 billion deal; a deal that seemed like an all but assured thing just days ago. It's been an uncharacteristically long time since James Gunn has given us a headline, but we may still be a day late and dollar short, as on Sunday the DC Studios head released a 10 second first look at Supergirl via social media, with the promise of the teaser trailer later in the week; which many have speculated to mean Thursday… Thanks, James! Also concerning DC: Four years after leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind, Scarlett Johansson seems headed for Gotham City, with the actress in final negotiations to join The Batman Part II. Details about Johansson's potential role are being closely guarded, though speculation has already run rampant about which iconic Batman character she might portray, though being a new love interest for Bruce Wayne in some capacity is a popular guess in the wake of unconfirmed reports that Zoe Kravitz might not reprise her role in the sequel.More than seven years after its original theatrical run, Marvel Studios is bringing Avengers: Endgame, the second-highest-grossing film of all time, back to theaters September 25, 2026 just months before Avengers: Doomsday later that December. While it's still unknown how long the Russos Brothers' last MCU contribution will be back to the big screen, the placement between the releases of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July and Doomsday in December, has fueled industry insider speculation suggesting the new Avengers film will act as a direct sequel to Endgame rather than closely following the events of Phases 4 through 6.HBO has revealed that the third season of Euphoria will begin streaming in April of 2026. This comes more than four years after Season 2 finished in February 2022.Hulu has renewed the Glen Powell led sports comedy series Chad Powers for a second season.20th Century Studios announced The Simpsons Movie 2 has been delayed from July 23, 2027 to September 3, 2027. Paramount and Blumhouse are reviving the Paranormal Activity franchise and bringing on James Wan to produce a new feature film in the franchise according to the Hollywood Reporter. Variety and CNN have revealed the star-studded lineup for the 23rd season of Actors on Actors. Some of the participants include Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne Johnson, Julia Roberts, and Ariana Grande. Sony Pictures has tapped Bad Boys For Life writer Chris Bremner to pen a new Men In Black film. Although plot details are not public, sources tell Deadline that when the script is complete, original series star Will Smith will be the first to read it in hopes that he will return to the franchise in some capacity. Prime Video has released the first trailer for the final season of The Boys. The show has an updated release date of April 8, 2026, which will see the release of two episodes. Episodes will then drop weekly, leading to the series finale on May 20th. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 opened to $109 million dollars worldwide over the weekend, a strong opening for the franchise. Additionally, last weekend's champion Zootopia 2 is nearing the one billion dollar mark with $915 million dollars worldwide so far. Sigourney Weaver is in talks to join the upcoming Tomb Raider series for Prime Video. Sophie Turner is set to star as Lara Croft, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge on as writer and executive producer.
