It's time for the men to show out. This brings us to the 19th edition of the men series - focusing on all male artist , specifically with an LGBTQ leaning. This set is filled with classic tracks from the 80's, 90's and beyond all with updated, floor filling remixes. The set starts out in the vocal house arena before quickly planting itself in the club/circuit/big room arena. I wanted this edition to have drive and energy with a focus on uplifting vocals delivering a positive message. There are repurposed tracks from George Michael, Queen, Tears For Fears and Journey mixed in with modern tracks from Troye Sivan, Billy Porter, Lil' Nas X and Jeff Satur. There are so many outstanding remixes featured here from Wayne G. Henriq Moraes, Division 4, 7th Heaven, Guy Scheiman, Danny Verde and of course, the incomparable Dirty Disco & Matt Consola. Here we are in August - last month of summer in the northern hemisphere and thankfully the last month of winter here in Australia. This month's edition of UP! contains some funky house tracks as well as some big room bangers. The set kicks off with a great track "Movin' On" by Hot M3ss and moves into another great house track "Love Shine" by Silverland. A big thank you to Matt Consola at Swishcraft Music for all of the great promo material he has been releasing. Dannii Minogue has a great new song "We Could Be The One" and David Guetta teams up with Anne-Marie to put their spin on Haddaway's "What is Love". Swedish artist Loreen won the Eurovision Song Contest again this year (after winning in 2012) with her song "Tattoo" remixed here by DJ Mark. The always awesome Dirty Disco has two remixes featured here for Troye Sivan and Taylor Swift respectively. JetFire does a great job covering Rihanna's "Disturbia" and Toy Armada turns in a great remix of the classic Shawn Christopher song "Another Sleepless Night". Guy Scheiman delivers a stand out mix of "Lovin' You More" by Steve Mac. The set closes out with the Roland Belmares mix of Lewis Capaldi's "Wish you The Best". The updated versions of these classics with new vocals are outstanding and pay homage to the originals. Many of you may remember the excellent rework of "Fame" by DJ Bill Bennett and Suzanne Palmer back in the day and recently featured on The Ultimate Gay Anthems & Pride Classics volume 4. These updated versions with new vocals are stellar and do the original justice. Miss Cara would be honored. The legendary Suzanne Palmer has also featured in the Tony Moran and Guy Scheiman collaboration of "Praise Up" with various remixes to suit all tastes making it the ultimate circuit anthem. Debby Holiday, another favorite of Party Favorz, has a new remix by Dirty Disco and Matt Consola of her remake of the Soul and Disco classic "I Can't Stand the Rain" and a blazing remix of "Love & Peace." Party Favorz believes that Miss Holiday and Miss Palmer deserve an induction into the Diva Hall of Fame due to their contributions to the gay community, which can't be overstated. Still, these are big circuit anthems from a diva with a huge voice that shouldn't go unnoticed. Additionally, Disco Queen Carol Jiani returns with Sammy X on the super gay "I'm A Diva Baby," and Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, and P!nk's latest hits are included with Dirty Disco and Zambianco doing remix honors. While Party Favorz maintains a big tribal house sound throughout the set, plenty of progressive sounds and mainstream songs are Tea Dance tracks included to mix things up making for the ultimate circuit anthems of spring. The updated versions of these classics with new vocals are outstanding and pay homage to the originals. Many of you may remember the excellent rework of "Fame" by DJ Bill Bennett and Suzanne Palmer back in the day and recently featured on The Ultimate Gay Anthems & Pride Classics volume 4. These updated versions with new vocals are stellar and do the original justice. Miss Cara would be honored. The legendary Suzanne Palmer has also featured in the Tony Moran and Guy Scheiman collaboration of "Praise Up" with various remixes to suit all tastes making it the ultimate circuit anthem. Debby Holiday, another favorite of Party Favorz, has a new remix by Dirty Disco and Matt Consola of her remake of the Soul and Disco classic "I Can't Stand the Rain" and a blazing remix of "Love & Peace." Party Favorz believes that Miss Holiday and Miss Palmer deserve an induction into the Diva Hall of Fame due to their contributions to the gay community, which can't be overstated. Still, these are big circuit anthems from a diva with a huge voice that shouldn't go unnoticed. Additionally, Disco Queen Carol Jiani returns with Sammy X on the super gay "I'm A Diva Baby," and Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, and P!nk's latest hits are included with Dirty Disco and Zambianco doing remix honors. While Party Favorz maintains a big tribal house sound throughout the set, plenty of progressive sounds and mainstream songs are Tea Dance tracks included to mix things up making for the ultimate circuit anthems of spring. Continuing on with the 'Best Of' series celebrating the remix artists who bring it to the dance floor, I present to you the Best Of Dirty Disco. This is my most ambitious podcast to date (or at the very least, my longest). Mark De Lang is the driving force behind Dirty Disco and he is based in Houston, Texas. I've had several conversations with Mark and he is an extremely nice man and generous to a fault with his remixes. He has given me early access to some of his exclusive mixes and is always happy to share with me and the club community in general. I cannot thank him enough for his incredible generosity towards me so I wanted to put together an amazing selection of his remixes displaying the various styles that he has produced over the years. As with my previous editions for Wayne G. and Division 4, it is impossible to encompass all of Mark's great remixes in one volume so I was strict with myself and came up with this small selection. Mark has also collaborated with other well known music producers such as Matt Consola from Swishcraft and Andy Allder. When I see an artists remix come out with the Dirty Disco stamp on it, I immediately know it is going to be a quality club floor filler. Dirty Disco has mixed tracks for Whitney Houston, Beyonce`, Pink, Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, Elton John, Tina Turner, Madonna and the list goes on. Dirty Disco will be in Sydney for World Pride 2023 and Sydney Mardi Gras and I am very much looking forward to meeting him in person. Closing out summer in the north and winter in the south is the August 2022 edition of UP! This month's edition has a funky house intro and moves into some big room house tracks towards the middle and end. Kicking off the set is the PBH & Jack collaboration with Hannah Boleyn "Summer Never Ends". I was introduced to Martin Ikin while I was at the gym and first heard "How I Feel" ft. Hayley May, so now I have several of his tracks. Elton John & Britney Spears have a massive hit on their hands with "Hold Me Closer" mixed by David Michael. The same applies to Beyonce` & Madonna with "Break My Vogue" brilliantly remixed by Ray Isaac. The always reliable Dirty Disco with Matt Consola turn out two excellent remixes for Gypsy Love and Janice Robinson respectively. Melbourne based remixer Luin, delivers a power house remix of Kylie's "Supernova" with other standout remixes coming from Roberto Ferrari and Rafael Barreto. Apparently, I had compiled more tracks than I realized, so this four-set series will turn into five. I've pretty much got volume 4 in the bag but want to make some last minute track version changes and plan on dropping that tomorrow to speed things up. The goal is to have the final volume and the anticipated two-volume set of The Ultimate Gay Anthems For A New Generation out by the end of the month so we can move on to regularly scheduled programming. It's not clear if there will be an official 2022 Gay Pride set — so I'll just leave that as an open question mark. In other news, Apple went back and has now put the entire Party Favorz Store up on Apple Podcasts. The show is available in iTunes but there they only have the standard Party Favorz show and all the other shows are listed out in the wild separately from the main show (that's not how they used to do it so I may have to reach out to them to have them put under one umbrella). I'm not sure why iTunes is different from Apple Podcasts but I'm not going to spend a lot of time on it. Following hot on the heels of Mardi Gras Anthems 17 come Mardi Gras Anthems 18. I had to squeeze this one in before I go away for my birthday which happens to be Mardi Gras party/parade night on March 5th. This edition again covers artists with big hits from the 2000's onwards however there are a few classics from the 70's and 80's thrown in to keep the mix interesting. Once again, a huge thank you to Mark from Dirty Disco as 4 of his remixes feature in this set. To kick it off is his funky remix of Paula Abdul's "The Way That You Love Me" followed by Boney M's classic, "Daddy Cool". I had a browse through my 7th Heaven remixes and came up with some gems from the past. Three remixes feature here for Matt Consola, Agnes and Claire Sharpe. I love the musicality of 7th Heaven's remixes, they never fail to deliver. Dirty Disco gave me an exclusive pre release of his collaboration with Debby Holiday "Find A Way" and it is truly uplifting and inspiring. Other standout mixes come from Hex Hector, Freemasons, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, and the always reliable Tony Moran & Warren Rigg. We've been throwing tracks into this folder since our last T-Dance release in August hoping to build up enough to complete a new set by year's end. Party Favorz is back with the annual HW series featuring all the latest Dance Club hits, bootlegs, mashups and classic dance tracks revisited and boy oh boy is this set a whopper! I was feeling out of sorts for several days and each time I attempted to sit down and put this together, I hit a roadblock right out of the gate. By Thursday, I sat down picked a starting point and just let the music move me. Though I've only created a one-stop set like this a couple of times before — this is the closest you'll ever get to listening to me live. With 200+ songs to go through, I threw tracks out on the fly while sitting for 4 1/2 hours going from one song to the next. The end result is pure magic! So much so, I even impressed myself at how well this set came out. Granted, there are a few songs (while not terrible) I could have left off — overall, I'm very pleased with the end result. The set kicks off with a remake of the Stevie Wonder penned classic 'Tell Me Something Good,' which was a hit for back in the seventies for Rufus & Chaka (Khan). This is one of those songs that should give anyone pause trying to remake. I will say that Ewan McVicar did an amazing job reworking it into a firecracker House track. I do question the unusually long build-up before the song picks up steam but it appears to have worked as it's sitting in everyone's Top 20 at the moment. Party Favorz is back with the annual HW series featuring all the latest Dance Club hits, bootlegs, mashups and classic dance tracks revisited and boy oh boy is this set a whopper! I was feeling out of sorts for several days and each time I attempted to sit down and put this together, I hit a roadblock right out of the gate. By Thursday, I sat down picked a starting point and just let the music move me. Though I've only created a one-stop set like this a couple of times before — this is the closest you'll ever get to listening to me live. With 200+ songs to go through, I threw tracks out on the fly while sitting for 4 1/2 hours going from one song to the next. The end result is pure magic! So much so, I even impressed myself at how well this set came out. Granted, there are a few songs (while not terrible) I could have left off — overall, I'm very pleased with the end result. The set kicks off with a remake of the Stevie Wonder penned classic 'Tell Me Something Good,' which was a hit for back in the seventies for Rufus & Chaka (Khan). This is one of those songs that should give anyone pause trying to remake. I will say that Ewan McVicar did an amazing job reworking it into a firecracker House track. I do question the unusually long build-up before the song picks up steam but it appears to have worked as it's sitting in everyone's Top 20 at the moment. Welcome to a new limited edition series called 'Best Of'. These episodes will focus on the artists who remix and produce some of the best songs to hit the dancefloors around the world. To kick the series off, I wanted to start with Division 4 (aka Robert) who is a good friend of mine here in Sydney. We have worked at several venues together in the pre COVID club era at events such as UP! and Rise & Shine. When I first met Rob, I fan girled over him a bit because I didn't know that he was the man behind so many of the remixes I admired. Not only does he have an uncanny ability to reconstruct popular songs from big name artists into floor filling house anthems, he is also an extremely humble and lovely man. If anything positive came out of 2020 — it would be musical styles in popular and dance music have started to give way to more diversity in their offerings. I realize that many of the songs in this series rely heavily on a formulaic Future House sound and the likes of Joel Corry, J Bruus, Colin Jay, Cosmic Dawn, Division 4 & Matt Consola, Ray Isaac, and Charlie Lane have perfected that sound but to their credit — they're serving up dance floor earworms for tracks that otherwise would never get remixed. Probably one of the most exciting remixes this year was for WAP by DJ Ranny. Yes, there were several unofficial remixes out there but none added to the excitement and party nature of the song. When Ranny sent his take over — I was bowled over as I immediately knew he hit a home run! It's a shame it couldn't have been enjoyed more on dance floors across the globe because it was a surefire winner. I think Dua Lipa tapped into something with the direction of music by digging into the 70s Disco, 80s Dance, and 90s House Music to create a feel-good escape on her sophomore effort "Future Nostalgia." Doja Cat equally did a great job of keeping our heads nodding to a slinky disco beat. Don't be surprised if Madonna finally — after all these years of begging her — goes back to her roots and delivers a carefree album that taps into the energy of her debut album. I'll lay down good money on it. In the interim, I hope everyone is enjoying this mega time capsule of the year 2020 with all the good, bad and ugly this year will be known for decades to come. We have reached the end of the Top Dance Songs of 2020 with volume 3 and it is glorious! This final volume has a more laidback feel overall and that's because many of the tracks included in these sets are pop hits that were never intended for the dance floor. Nevertheless, the songs are culturally important and resonate with so many people that its inevitable the label either commissions official remixes or aspiring DJ/producers remix the tracks for their own sets. You'd think that with everything on lockdown, their wouldn't be that much great dance club music but far from it. That's not to say that there was as much during the second half of the year but we still had more than enough to fill our typical three volume year-end series. If anything positive came out of 2020 — it would be musical styles in popular and dance music have started to give way to more diversity in their offerings. I realize that many of the songs in this series rely heavily on a formulaic Future House sound and the likes of Joel Corry, J Bruus, Colin Jay, Cosmic Dawn, Division 4 & Matt Consola, Ray Isaac, and Charlie Lane have perfected that sound but to their credit — they're serving up dance floor ear worms for tracks that otherwise would never get remixed. Probably one of the most exciting remixes this year was for WAP by DJ Ranny. Yes there were several unofficial remixes out there but none added to the excitement and party nature of the song. When Ranny sent his take over — I was bowled over as I immediately knew he hit a homerun! It's a shame it couldn't have been enjoyed more on dance floors across the globe because it was a surefire winner. [youtube v="9AWsTQh6DDQ"] I think Dua Lipa really tapped into something with the direction of music by digging into 70's, 80's and 90's Disco, Dance and House music to create a feelgood escape on her sophomore effort "Future Nostalgia." Doja Cat equally did a great job of keeping our heads nodding to a slinky disco beat. Don't be surprised if Madonna finally — after all these years of begging her — goes back to her roots and delivers a carefree album that taps into the energy of her debut album. In fact, I'll lay down good money on it. After several fits and stops, Party Favorz is finally dropping the annual Fall Edition featuring the season's biggest circuit, tribal anthems and is this one HUGE! It took awhile to wrap my head around some of these tracks to get them to flow the way I envisioned but after trial and error then walking away and coming back to it — everything finally fell together. Everything you come to expect is here with all the latest circuit offerings featuring the biggest hit songs, the biggest divas, fisting pumping anthems, uplifting tracks, and just plain ole party hard fun-filled tribal fun. It's more than enough to make you forget about the pandemic and look forward to coming out the other end of this shitshow. With this release, I'm finally back on schedule and will likely start rolling out some of the promised Ultimate 90's House Classics later this week before jumping into the latest Disco House and Peak Hour sets. I'm not certain about the release timeline of the annual Madonna compilation(s) just yet. It'll happen when it happens. For now, I know you guys have been eagerly waiting for the next circuit set since July and I didn't want to make you wait until next week.
