Josh is on his usual BS about "musical" issues, Lindsay has flashbacks to her bat mitzvah, and Hayden finds a way to talk about strudels again.

Matt talks about R&B first dance songs to play as a married couple. Important Links View the complete list of R&B first dance songs. See all Wedding Songs Podcast episodes Podcast Transcript R&B music is soulful, it's romantic, and I think it makes for some of the best wedding songs you can play as a married couple. Today I am going to be focusing on more of the newer songs so of course, these are not the tried and true classics that you can find. Examples like Sam Cook and Nat King Cole. I just want to give you some ideas that are outside of the box that maybe you haven't thought of, that maybe describe your relationship and your love for each other. Now, if you prefer to read the list, or listen to the list (as you know we cannot play the list legally), you can do so on the website MyWeddingSongs.com and just search for First Dance songs and it will come up. While you are on the website, make sure you sign up for our monthly newsletter of all the new wedding songs released in the previous month, plus what is trending. Let us go ahead and get started with the first song on the list. It is by Veto and is called “Forever”. Released in 2022 it is a brand new song but it is quickly becoming very popular. Lyrics include…You have all the leverage, girl, I'm yours if you want it, Let's make it forever, girl. Another great new song is by Selah Sue called “You (Rework)” with the lyrics…All I need is time in your embrace, It's always so much better, Never in my life I've felt this way, Yes, you are all I need. Another one of my recent favorites is by Ric Hassani and is called “Angel (Acoustic Version)” You may not have heard of him yet, but this is a fantastic first dance song with the lyrics…I might lose sleep tonight, ‘Cause finally my dream has come true, I was created for you, You are my angel. As I said, the lyrics fit very nicely into a first dance song. Now, this next song was on top of the R&B adult chart, and it is by the popular Kem with his song “Stuck On You”. It was released in 2022 with the lyrics…And your love, Is all I needed, To be fearless, Baby, I'm stuck on you. And, the last song I have, released in 2022, is by an artist probably most well known for his song “Down”. It is Jay Sean with his song “Incomplete” with the lyrics (I should say the lover lyrics)…Never know when it could be different, If there was no you, I'd be, I'd be incomplete. Probably my favorite song on the whole list is by the artists Jose James and Taali with the song “I Found A Love”. Lyrics include…I found a love, The kind to hold, The kind that lifts you from the bottom of your soul, The kind that makes, The broken whole. Next up is Leela James in 2021 with the song “You're The One” with romantic lyrics…You're the one that treats me right, Just the way I like, You're the one. I like the connotations of this next song, “At My Worst” by Pink Sweat$ and Kehlani with the lyrics…If you stay forever, let me hold your hand, I can fill those places in your heart no one else can, Let me show you, love, oh, I don't pretend. Next up is actually a popular first dance song, “Conversations In The Dark” by John Legend, released in 2020. Lyrics include…You get hung up on your flaws, Well, in my eyes, you are perfect, As you are. Another duet is “Anything For You” by Ledisi and PJ Morton. It was released in 2020 with the lyrics…I will do anything for you, You are my life, one means us two, Anything, anything for you. Rahsaan Patterson released “Sent From Heaven” in 2019 with the lyrics…Thoughts of you rise like the sun, and, My days are much brighter Because you're sent from heaven. Another popular first dance song is by Snoh Aalegra “Find Someone Like You” released in 2019 with the lyrics…I've been waitin' my whole life, to find someone like you, Find someone like you. Here is another song that is not going to be on everybody's radar. Derran Day's song “My Word” was released in 2018 with the lyrics…Cross every star,

Matt talks about his favorite songs to play for a combined father-daughter and mother-son dance for your wedding reception playlist. Hear some song lyrics that go with the picks too! Important Links View the complete list of combined parent dance songs. See all Wedding Songs Podcast episodes Podcast Transcript Welcome to the Wedding Songs Podcast featuring newly released songs you need to know and the tried and true classics. Get song ideas from the time guests arrive until the last dance of the reception. And now your host, Matt Campbell founder of MyWeddingSongs.com. Welcome to episode number 81 of the Wedding Songs Podcast. I am Matt Campbell and today I am going to be talking about songs you can play for a combined parent-child dance. Now, this could be the father-daughter / mother-son dance combined into one song. You may not want to have a lovey-dovey song that is particular to a father-daughter or for a mother-son. This is more generic and could be played for either dance. If you prefer to read the list, or listen to the list you can do so on our website MyWeddingSongs.com. Just search for combined dances. We will also have a link in our show notes as well. While you are on the website, make sure you sign up for our monthly newsletter, The Music Letter. We send it out on the last day of the month and it features all of the wedding songs of the prior month, also some hidden gems, and some songs you can play on date night as well. Make sure you check that out. I am not going to go thru every song on the list but I am going to go thru these in chronological order starting with the newest song first. Let's go ahead and get started with the first song titled “On Me” by Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown, and Ava Max. This was featured in the Scooby Doo soundtrack of 2020. It is really a great song that describes a relationship where you can rely on another person, particularly a parent. If you have never heard this song, the lyrics include…And if you want to, tell me what you gon' do, You could put it all, put it all on me, You can count on me, one, two, three. One of the most popular parent-child dance songs at weddings is “Forever Young”. A lot of artists have covered this and if you are a Folk fan, in 2019 Andrea von Kampen released this song. It is a great Folk song with the lyrics…Forever young, I want to be forever young. Next up, in 2018, Luke Bryan released “Most People Are Good” with the lyrics…I believe this world ain't half as bad as it looks, I believe most people are good. Another more generic song is “Humble And Kind” by Tim McGraw in 2016, with the lyrics…When the work you put in is realized, Let yourself feel the pride but, Always stay humble and kind. In 2007 the lead singer of Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas, released “Little Wonders” for the Meet the Robinson's soundtrack. Lyrics include…Our lives are made, In these small hours, These little wonders. Also released in 2007 is a collaboration with Jim Brickman featuring Lady A on the song “Never Alone”. Lyrics include…So when hard times have found you and your fears surround you, Wrap my love around you, you're never alone. Another very popular parent-child dance song at weddings is “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts with the lyrics…My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small. If you are looking for a Christian song then in 2005 Mark Harris released “Find Your Wings” with the lyrics…I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams, And that faith gives you the courage, To dare to do great things. In 2003 Josh Groban released “You Raise Me Up” as a popular selection. In 2000 Lee Ann Womack released “I Hope You Dance” with the lyrics…Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance. Of course “Sweet Child O'Mine” by Guns & Roses is a popular father-daughter dance song,

I decided to surprise everyone by dropping volume 2 of the 2022 Catch-Up series a day early. Lately, the summer weather has been hotter than hell as we had a high of 102 degrees yesterday and a short-lived massive storm complete with hail that I got stuck in. Life is coming at everyone fast so I figured why put off what you can give the people today. If you thought any songs were missing from yesterday's drop — they're likely included here. I threw in a few extras to round the final set out and the end result is an early summer party you don't want to miss. Some of you may have been disappointed that I spent so much time sending up all the Gay Anthem series in lieu of new music but to be honest — something is off about new releases. They're just not there and most of what is there is fairly generic. It appears that either the DJ services I rely on are either about to go under or there's just not enough new content that's being delivered on a regular basis. It's hard to tell but when I dive into the world of YouTube, I'm not seeing a whole bunch that's wowing me at the moment. Putting this series together was one of the hardest things I had to do. Don't get me wrong, what's here is stellar and certainly, there was enough to fill two sets with a little help from last year's late entries and a few filler tracks. Still, I couldn't justify putting out redundant sets and passing them off as new material even if there were indeed new big releases from say Lizzo. I've been working my ass off to deliver those Gay Anthem sets for you folks and in the process lost several subscribers (some of them longtime) while picking up 5x as many during the same period. I don't think those folks will stick around but if they do, welcome. In short, I'm exhausted and need to recharge my batteries for at least a week. Don't plan on anything new this next weekend but I do have plans for a duel-release just in time for July 4th celebrations. In fact, I'll be trying something different. I'll definitely be dropping the next Peak Hour set and I have another party set that's not like anything ever done before on this site that I think everyone will enjoy. It's something I had originally planned for November but put off due to scheduling issues but I think now is the perfect time to go for it. Still, July will bring our usual releases like our annual Beach House, Summer Sweat, and Summer Heat series that covers all our bases. I may shake up the Beach House series but to be honest, I haven't even started looking at those tracks yet so no decision has been made. Party Favorz is also anticipating the release of a new Beyonce hybrid dance and country album at the end of July and I fully expect it's going to be HUGE. I anticipate an early release that should make it onto the aforementioned series. In the interim, I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I'll be back in a couple of weeks with a double-hitter. Until then...ENJOY! Album: Catch-Up 2022 Vol. 2 Genre: Dance, Club, House, NuDisco Year: 2022 Total Time: 03:00:04 1. Mabel, Jax Jones & Galantis - Good Luck (Extended Mix) 2. The original set was created in one take and has since been tightened up with smoother transitions. It's also been shortened by 1minute. If you're fine with the original raw remix, there's no need to download the new version. As promised, Party Favorz has officially switched gears into summer mode with the release of our annual Catch-Up for 2022. This set features the biggest and I mean the BIGGEST Dance Club songs of the year right at the midpoint. As typical of past releases, songs released in the last quarter of the previous year are also included because they had so much staying power — they remained in heavy rotation on streaming and in the clubs well into 2022. To be honest, the club business still hasn't fully recovered to the point that it appears Billboard has officially done away with the chart, which started in the 1970s as the Disco Chart. Who's to say if it will ever be back but the one remaining chart they offer in dance music (Electronic Dance Music) isn't worth a grain of salt and frankly not even worth bothering with. For now, all decisions for songs included in this series are based on YouTube and Spotify streams and we're confident we got it right. The Catch-Up series also includes new releases that either will be or should be summer hits and are solely based on editorial decisions about what we think should be on your radar. While there are several of these songs included across these two volumes there are definitely some notable ones we think deserve your attention. First among these is a song released in the late fall of 2021 that apparently never came to our attention. Anabel Englund's 'Midnight Rapture' is an earworm delight that samples the Blondie #1 classic 'Rapture' from 1981. It's in keeping with many artists diving into their parent's record collections and pulling out delights from the decade and re-working the songs with fresh lyrics and a whole new vibe while keeping the original intact. Englund even creates a spoken-word interlude, which is more appropriate today than Debbie Harry's wonderbread rap on the original. Still, if you're not familiar with the song it's a pure delight. You should add it to your Spotify or Apple Music playlist. Sofi Tukker (a Party Favorz favorite) is back with a couple of earworms for your summer listening. 'Original Sin' follows their trademark sound complete with the 1960s bass riff Tucker Halpern injects to great effect into many of their biggest songs. The Crush Club remix takes into deeper house terriorty but injects a euphoric and uplifting riff into the song about halfway through and is repeated again towards the end. You can add it to your Spotify or Apple Music playlist. Our biggest pick here is 'Summer In New York' where Sofi Tukker lay down their cool kids indie vibe. Sofi even adds the familiar Suzanne Vega riff from her 1980s song 'Tom's Diner,' which was given the house treatment by DNA in the early 1990s. I'm fairly certain this is Soffi doing it herself and the song does not rely on this injection to make it the surefire summer anthem it is. Instead, it's almost kind of casually thrown in because it fits the whole vibe. If this song isn't on your Spotify or Apple Music playlist — it should be. You can thank me later. I also want to recognize 'Heat' by TT The Artist, Rony Rex & Psylla. I stumbled on this song by accident and was immediately hooked and haven't been able to get it out of my head since. This is a massive Bass House tune that will blow up any dancefloor and deserves a lot more attention than it's currently receiving. You can add it to your Spotify or Apple Music list here. Check these songs out below: Party Favorz also wants to give a HUGE shoutout to relative newcomer Ryan Leary who not only creates fantastic remixes of existing tunes as featured here in Marshmello & Khalid's 'Numb' and Swedish House Mafia's 'Heaven Takes You Home' giving the originals a much needed boost but he also appears to be p...

Your girls are BACK and the episode starts off strong with Rachel dropping a bomb on Jess. Which leads us to the question - what is the weirdest thing you've ever done for money? The girls share a lot of laughs after Rachel comes clean about how she spent her morning. Rach fills everyone in on her dress buying trip to Chicago and gives her advice and new found knowledge after saying "yes to the dress" (too chueg??). Jess finally receives her Christmas gift from Rach and it has us reflecting on #2021yearofgrowth. Jess and Rach bond over their new Survivor obsession, and Rach tries to be relevant by watching the newest reality TV craze, but Jess already beat her to it. The meat this week is a lot of music talk, and a lot of jokes. We want you all to know how much we love you and we love your love, but maybe if your first dance was to 'At Last' you had a high neckline dress and got married in a barn?? Maybe if your first dance song was "Honeybee" you had your Bach party in Nashville?? Maybe you are basic as hell and we are here to say we see you and we honor you! Most of the shade thrown was also shade we could through at ourselves, so we hope you know this episode was all in good fun! Per #Wikipedia Crystal Waters is an American house and dance music singer and songwriter, best known for her 1990s dance hits "Gypsy Woman", "100% Pure Love", and 2007's "Destination Calabria" with Alex Gaudino. All three of her studio albums produced a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. In December 2016, Billboard magazine ranked her as one of the most successful dance artists of all time. Her accolades include six ASCAP Songwriter awards, three American Music Award nominations, an MTV Video Music Award nod, four Billboard Music Awards and twelve #1 Billboard Dance Chart hits. Her hit song "Gypsy Woman" was sampled in musician Trey Songz's 2017 song "1x1" from his album Tremaine the Album, which she co-wrote. _________ Waters' first job in the music world was as a backup singer at a local recording studio. She realized she wanted the creative control of writing her own music. Meeting the Basement Boys at a D.C. conference, they agreed to collaborate. Waters' self-described style was jazz and the Basement Boys was house. The first two songs she wrote for the 'Boys were "Makin' Happy" and "Gypsy Woman". Waters signed a writing contract with Mercury Records in 1989.[citation needed] Her single "Makin' Happy", with contributions by remixer Steve "Silk" Hurley, shot quickly to #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs.[citation needed] With her 1994 follow-up album Storyteller, Waters made a mainstream comeback with her hit single "100% Pure Love", which hit number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100,[5] #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs and became one of the longest-charting singles on the Hot 100 at 45 weeks ("Gypsy Woman" had remained on the chart for 16 weeks). Along with the single, her second album Storyteller, sold over 1 million copies in the United States. Feminist scholar and social activist bell hooks described Waters as "fierce and politically on the job" because of the singer's socially conscious lyrics. Waters performing in 2013. In 1996, Waters participated in the AIDS benefit album Red Hot + Rio, which was produced by the Red Hot Organization, performing the song "The Boy from Ipanema". In 2007, the mega European hit "Destination Calabria" by Alex Gaudino, featuring vocals by Crystal Waters, went to #1 on the European Pop Chart in over 30 countries. The track is a mashup, taking the instrumental from Rune's "Calabria" and the vocals from Alex Gaudino's and Crystal Waters' "Destination Unknown", both originally released in 2003. It was produced with the help of Maurizio Nari and Ronnie Milani (Nari & Milani), matching the saxophone hook/riff from "Calabria" to Crystal Waters' voice. "Destination Calabria" was released as a 12-inch single by the Italian label Rise Records, and as a CD single on March 19, 2007 by British label Data Records. It originally charted in Australia in February 2004, peaking at #98 under the title "Destination Unknown" before being re-released as "Destination Calabria" and reaching #2 in 2007. In 2012, "Le Bump" with Yolanda Be Cool gave Waters another #1 on the Beatport House Chart. With DJ Chris Cox in 2013, the #1 Billboard Dance Club Songs hit "Mama Hey" was listed as one of Billboard's "Top 50 Dance Songs of 2013". In November 2015, Waters released "Synergy", and in October 2016 she released "Believe". Both songs quickly rose to the #1 spot on the Billboard Dance Club Songs.[citation needed] Her 2017 single "Testify" with Hifi Sean was released on Defected Records and went straight to the A-List on BBC Radio and garnered another #1 spot on the Billboard Dance Club Songs. Her third collaboration with Sted-E & Hybrid Heights, titled "I Am House", reached #1 in the club charts in Spring 2018, giving Waters a total of twelve #1 singles in the US Billboard Dance Club Songs. In February 2020, she began a monthly radio/podcast show called "I Am House."
