What's up, Browns fans! With the game moved to the dome in Detroit, we figured the Bills would wrap this game up by halftime. In typical Browns fashion, the defense played well enough in the first half to keep the game close. But as soon as Buffalo told Josh Allen to take a rest and hand the ball off, the game went sideways fast. Our defense simply does not play anywhere close to its potential, and with Kevin Stefanski retaining Joe Woods (and Mike Priefer, whose special teams unit aided the loss once again), we can't expect anything different moving forward. On the bright side, Jacoby Brissett performed very well on a day where we lost our center and Nick Chubb was bottled up completely on the ground. Technically, the Browns still have a glimmer of hope for the playoffs, and it'll be important to see how this team responds in Week 12 knowing Deshaun Watson will return in Week 13. First off, congratulations to Brandon, who had his second child on Monday. We hoped he would call in from the hospital, but as it turns out, he couldn't QUITE make it. Jon, Stu, and Clarence (who dropped out and re-joined about forty times) were left to discuss: Gopher football: everything we ever wanted Thanks for listening, Mike Russo. Welcome to the party! Stu is a cuckold Matt Kalil is terrible and Mike Priefer's dad is a crusty old fart The Wolves are a train wreck... ... but not as big of a train wreck as Big Ten hockey Eaves is jail, but Hakstol is prison And so on and so forth. We're still the hardest-working podcast in show biz. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Football Nation proudly presents the eighth episode in season three of "Monday Morning Huddle" with host Dave Holcomb. This week's podcast starts with the Minnesota Vikings and the suspension the franchise handed out to its special teams coach Mike Priefer. In former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe's story and letter to Deadspin, Kluwe included several anecdotes where Priefer said homophobic statements, one of which an investigation confirmed. The former punter, however, still argues the suspension does not fit the crime. Next, Holcomb discusses the highly unlikely possibility the Bills relocate, the feature back for the Jacksonville Jaguars and offensive lineman Chris Snee's plans to announce his retirement. Finally, in the 'Fourth and Long' segment, the host debates 2014 first round busts, the Denver Broncos and the most memorable plays in NFL history. Monday Morning Huddle will return next week, on Monday, July 28th.
Chris Kluwe announced Tuesday that he intends to sue the Minnesota Vikings if they do not publicly release the findings of the 6-month independent investigation of the allegations Kluwe made about homophobic remarks by special teams coach Mike Priefer. We had Arif Hasan of Vikings Territory and Di Murphy of the Daily Norseman on to get their takes. The Minnesota Vikings coaching staff has been completed, and with the coveted Norv Turner finally officially named the OC, things are looking up and up! Mike Priefer stays on as special teams coordinator, which in football terms is a good thing! What an awful Superbowl, to put it lightly! Ok, we understand Seattle fans are excited, but Joey and Dylan as football fans have to be honest as such an uninteresting display of "football" in front of zillions of people, didn't come close to what many expected. The boys talk football as only they can, bouncing from this to that, and can't help but to notice a game that really was over as early as the first play. facebook.com/purplemafiashow Follow us on Twitter: @purplemafiashow @dylanrichardson Call into our Phone Lines at: 209-736-7877
