Lola Weippert – wie hat dir denn das Padel-Tennis-Match abgesehen vom besten Part –Pauls Buzz Cut – gefallen? In der zweiten AWFNR-Folge mit Lola lernen wir schnell ihre Dialekte und Slangs kennen. Und auch dumme Aussagen, die Paul und Lola gerne korrigieren würden, aber ungern in die Rolle des Klugscheißers schlüpfen und deshalb darauf verzichten. Aber mal ehrlich, wer sagt schon zwei Zwillinge und dass etwas Sinn macht? Vor vier Tagen haben Paul und Lola sich nach ihrer längeren Brieffreundschaft erstmals physisch kennengelernt. Lola hat mit 26 Stunden Schlaflosigkeit die Reise angetreten, aber es hat sich gelohnt und sie liebt das California Life. Anders ist es. Zum Glück ist sie nicht bei den republikanischen Nachbarn mit der Pumpgun im Haus gelandet. Sie fühlt sich wie in einem Film, in dem sie eine Nebenrolle spielt. So war auch die Weihnachtsfeier der absolute Wahnsinn. Paul hat jetzt auch mal live und in Farbe gesehen, wie es ist, mit der Diagnose ADHS zu leben. Lola zieht Energie aus Kontakten und ist interessiert an dem Leben anderer. Sie freut sich über alles und fühlt sich gelegentlich wie ein Golden Retriever, was auch heißt: Kein Tag ohne Unfall. Nach dem Klavierspielen im PARI Club House wird jedes Kleidungstück angezogen, auf dem Boden ausgerutscht und Kaffee verschüttet. Lola stellt in den Raum, dass Paul ADS haben könnte. Aber was haben die beiden denn jetzt zusammen geplant? Eine Twitch Show? Lola ist ja Grund für Pauls Praktikum bei BigFM. Jetzt hat sie selbst Sehnsucht und möchte nochmal zurück. Paul will an dieser Stelle über Grenzen sprechen, denn zu Lolas BigFM-Zeiten wurde eine Hochzeit mit Lola in Las Vegas verlost. Für Paul wäre das ein No-Go, doch Lola hat es gemacht. Heute erzählt sie, wie es war und aus einer lustigen Radioaktion eine Beziehung wurde. Auch vom ersten Kuss in der Hochzeitsnacht erzählt sie. Ihr habt sicher von der PAULOLA Challenge mitbekommen. 30 Minuten Eisbad und 10 Kilo Möhren waren die Folge. Und dann gingen die Instagram-Kommentare los. Ein kurzes Statement hört ihr heute. Lola weiß, was sie tut – ein Seiltanz auf dem Risiko. Bewusst. Doch Paul hat das alles sehr beschäftigt. „Kannst du dir ein Video anschauen, das über eine Stunde lang ist und dich nur auf diese eine Sache konzentrieren?“ Paul meint die Frage nicht böse, sondern ist wirklich interessiert. Denn als er Lola das Auflegen beibringen wollte, kamen ihr schnell Affensticker, blinkende Lichter und ein Geschenk in die Quere. Die beiden sprechen über Lolas Aufmerksamkeitsspanne und Konzentration. Und auch, warum FOMO eine große Rolle in ihrem Leben spielt. Paul und Lola können viel voneinander lernen. Bible Reading: 1 John 4:7-11, 20-21"Can you think of anyone who needs a friend?" Abby's Sunday school teacher asked the class. "During His time on earth, Jesus sought out those who were rejected or ignored by others so they would know they were loved by God. When we reach out to those who are lonely, we're showing them the love of Jesus, who sacrificed His life so we could have a place in His family. Who can you show God's love to this week who might be feeling lonely?" Abby tried to think of someone, but there wasn't anyone at her school who seemed lonely. Her class was small, and the kids all knew each other well. When Abby got home, her dog, Moppet, met her at the door. "Hi, Moppet," Abby crooned. As she sat down to pet the little dog, Abby's brother Topher walked through the kitchen. Moppet promptly jumped up and followed him.Frowning, Abby glared after them. "Why does Moppet always prefer to be with my brother?" she muttered under her breath. Sighing, Abby got up and went to her room.Later that day, Abby noticed that her brother didn't seem very interested in the TV show he was watching. I wonder if Topher is lonely, she thought with a start. We've only lived here a little while, and he doesn't seem to have many friends yet. Abby remembered how she felt when Moppet often chose to follow Topher instead of her. Is that how Topher feels? she wondered. Sad and lonely because everyone else in our family feels at home and has made friends except for him? Abby thought again of her teacher's words. I couldn't think of any lonely people this morning, but I didn't even consider my own brother. She sighed. Maybe that's why Moppet chooses to follow Topher around--because he knows Topher needs a friend.Abby went to the kitchen and got two glasses of milk and some cookies. She put them on a tray and took them to the living room. Topher looked up in surprise when Abby offered him cookies and milk. "What's that for?" he asked. Abby shrugged. "I just thought we could have a snack and hang out."Topher smiled. We've come to the final chapter of The Christmas Hirelings by Mary Elizabeth Braddon! It's a tear jerker for sure... or is just me? In this chapter, when Moppet is struck dangerously ill (as so frequently happens to children in Victorian literature), Sir John must come to terms with his love for the little girl. They are not sure whether Moppet will live or die, and then the children's mother shows up... and Sir John's life may never be the same again. Beatrix Potter spent a lot of time alone as a child way out in the countryside on holidays and vacations. She loved observing animals and sketching images of them. She later wrote stories about the images that she had drawn. In 1902, Beatrix Potter published her Tale of Peter Rabbit. That was the begining of her career as the author of children's stories. She wrote more than 20 books for children including the precious story.
