--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/corgiov/message

A lot of people often say this; "Do not die in your abusive relationship; If it's really toxic, rather than die in it, hit the exit button". I have probably said those lines too. But here comes the big question; What next! after an abusive relationship? This super amazing episode will enlighten you on what to do, be, and have after leaving an abusive partner.I had an incredible conversation with a beautiful woman Nenia Ballard. She is an amazing, dedicated, and enthusiastic police officer. She shared her experiences, having been a survivor of domestic violence, and yet not know how to navigate through life despite years and years of coaching and training as a police officer. Nenia did not come to the realization that what she experienced was abuse until she got an epiphany. “More often than not, it doesn't feel like abuse at the initial stage; until the trauma and abuse sets in.”This episode will help you view domestic violence, trauma and abuse from the lenses of a female police officer.Connect with Nenia Ballard at on Facebook at:Nenia Ballard

Self-Love Journey Are you wondering what's the next step for your life as far as having an authentic self-love journey. I've often found that we are pretending a lot in life, walking through familiar settings, not really loving ourselves as we should. How do you develop self-love? We develop self-love by making authentic choices, choosing ourselves over everyone else. Now, I know that sounds a bit selfish. However, you will never be able to be good for anyone else unless you love yourself. Why is self-love so important? Self-love is so important for so many reasons. First, you are the machine of your life. If you never stop to oil the machine, you won't be able to move powerfully through this life. Self-love is the oil to our machines. What is the key to self-love? The key to self-love is constantly letting go of the things that no longer fuel your soul. From toxic relationships to environments and all in between. Letting go is like moving the needle towards the positive area in our lives. What is the feeling of self-love? When we finally arrive at self-love, the feeling is euphoric, causing us to finally breath in all of God's goodness, and the life we deserve with clear hearts and minds. Today, I sit down and talk with author, Nenia Corcoran, a survivor of domestic violence and advocate for self-love and self-care. Nenia is the author of two books, and helps young people understand the power of loving yourself enough to let go. When you hear about someone in an abuse relationship, do you picture the victim as passive?Former police officer Nenia Corcoran shares that exact moment when she realized her own marriage mirrored that of an abuse victim in crisis. You will learn:An abuse victim will often try to forecast how her day will go based on her partner's moods, and adjust her behaviors accordingly to keep the peace. Isolation often keeps abuse victims immobilized. Benone!
We're kicking off a month of spooooooky films with our second double feature special dedicated to two titans of 1920's German silent film, F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu (1922) and Fritz Lang's Metropolis (1927). Nosferatu is widely considered to be one of the first most popular film adaptations of Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, even if Murnau and company didn't technically have the rights. The film stars Max Schreck as the horrifying Nosferatu, as well as Alexander Granach as Jonathan and Greta Schroder as Nenia. Nosferatu has been hailed by many as one of the greatest pieces of film throughout history, and even the Vatican has it listed as one of their 45 greatest films of all time. Not to be outdone, Lang's Metropolis was an early attempt at what we would now recognize as Science Fiction. It is considered to be one of the most ambitious films of all time and even was a favorite of a certain German despot. The film stars Briggite Helm as Maria/Maschinemensch, Alfred Abel as Joh Fredersen, and Gustav Frolich as Freder. Settle in with us as we talk in depth about the making of these films, the challenges of early filmaking, and their modern day relevancy!
