Headlines and Yay! It's Trade Deadline Month Day! Today we are heading to Baltimore to analyze the possibilities of the Mariners trading for Ryan O'Hearn, so what would be standing in our way? Will he be available? Baltimore is having a massively disappointing season considering the expectations and they will wait until the last minute to decide if they're really out of it, then the flood gates may open. Is he a difference maker? Would it still be a 1st base platoon situation? Not sure if that's worth it. And how would he fare at T-Mobile Park? The move doesn't seem to qualify as a splash move and if we only get one of those then… What if we paired him with Felix Bautista? :30- MLB Allstar festivities begin this weekend with the Futures game on Saturday, the Draft on Sunday and the Home Run Derby on Monday. Then on Tuesday, there's an extra element of excitement for the All-star game- they will be using the Challenge system. :45- The 2025 Seahawks aren't getting a lot of love nationally. So, what will it take for this team to exceed expectations? It's all about the defense. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Headlines and Seahawks One Series: ROB RANG (LockedOn Seahawks Podcast) The Seahawks brought in DeMarcus Lawrence and the former Cowboy could have big impacts on this Hawks defense. How concerned should we be about his age and injury history? :30- ABCs of the Mariners - G is for guilty… Chuck was guilty of hoping Ty France would hit into a double play and he did! - H is for holes- as we discussed yesterday, our lineup doesn't feel as holey against righties; but as we approach the trading deadline, should we utilize this time to see who lasts through the deadline, Solano or Canzone? - I is for interchangeable- Brash said that he and Munoz are pretty interchangeable, but that wasn't the message with Munoz going in the 8th, was it? :45- Reckless at Breakfast- with a boatload of 1st round picks in the first round over the next few years, could the Thunder be gearing up to package those picks and trade for Giannis? Headlines and The Wrigley effect. The Mariners figured out the right approach based on the conditions at Wrigley Field, but it took a bit. Emerson Hancock couldn't conquer Wrigley on Saturday and the Cubs took advantage, but on Sunday it was Logan's turn to make some adjustments and the M's batter's took advantage of the windy conditions to come up with 14 runs and a series win. The M's scored 30 runs over the weekend, but the offense is in no way fixed. They were just able to use the conditions to their advantage and we fully expect a return to normalcy in Minnesota. :30- The Seahawks defense leaned on Leonard Williams last year, but could he be even better this year? Lofa sure think so and we talked about it with him during our Seahawks one series last Friday. :45- Kevin Durant was traded from the Suns to the Rockets over the weekend. Will he ever be happy? Headlines and an Ernest conversation. Yesterday, John Boyle joined us to give his thoughts on just how important Ernest Jones is to this 2025 Seahawks team, so we revisit part of the conversation and discuss. :30- The Red Sox surprised everyone when they traded Rafael Devers to the Giants without shopping him around, but they needed to find someone who would take him and his contract off their hands. These long-term contracts rarely work out, and we never expected the Mariners to be in on a trade like that. :45- We had no idea how powerful we are! The first numbers are in on allstar voting and Cal leads all catchers by almost 700,000 votes. Should we take all the credit now or….? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How do you feel about the Seahawks loss to the Vikings? Did the Seahawks lose that game or did the Vikings go out and win it? // The Geno Smith debate took off again after the Seahawks lost to the Vikings, are you feeling any better or worse about the Seahawks QB situation? Geno took credit for everything that the offense did wrong. // Take Two: Mike Macdonald did not have an update earlier on Ken Walker and on their estimated practice report today listed him as Did Not Practice-ankle…Charbonnet was limited with an elbow injury. Huskies have lost their defensive coordinator: Steve Belichick is joining his dad’s staff as North Carolina’s defensive coordinator and what had originally been reported as the head coach in waiting // How are we feeling about this Seahawks defense? Salk opens the show by giving the Seahawks their well deserved praise for another phenomenal defensive showing in the Seahawks win over the Jets, as they have now played that way for four straight games. Then, they go Around The NFL with stories around the NFC West, along with the Bears, Steelers and more.
The Seahawks jumped back up to the top of the NFC West this past Sunday with a 16-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. We dive into the game and talk about the defense's outstanding performance that held James Conner to under 10 rushing yards and contained Kyler Murray. Leonard Williams made a significant impact, and the pass rush as a whole is pressuring at a rate that is difficult to believe. It wasn't the prettiest win though. With only 10 offensive points, we examines the Seahawks offensive struggles and we get into some of the theories around why it may take some time for it to pull together by the end of the season. Looking ahead, the Seahawks are set to face the New York Jets, a team filled with talent yet riddled in turmoil. With the Seahawks' defense on the upswing, can they maintain their winning momentum? In the second half of the show, we discuss the current NFC West standings, where the Seahawks lead the division, and how the playoff race is shaping up. The downfall of the 49ers continues and it doesn't get much easier with a road trip to Buffalo coming up this weekend. Is it the end for Kyle? Should it be? One coach that won't ever get another NFL job lands in the Do Better segment this week. We also take aim at the NFL, because they're fining players for things that it is also promoting. Better at life goes out to Jameis Winston for his cadence at the line of scrimmage and to our head coach Mike Macdonald as the Seahawks Salute to Service nominee for the NFL. Do you think this was the best performance of the season by the Seahawks defense? The Cardinals were held to 49 rushing yards and this is back to back games where the Seahawks hold their opponent to under 300 total yards. How big of an impact did Leo Williams and Devon Witherspoon have for this Seahawks defense? Williams had 2.5 sacks, and Witherspoon had a key block on Bryant’s pick 6 and had lockdown coverage. Take Two: Former Giants QB Daniel Jones has cleared waivers and can sign with any team and former Mariners pitcher Yusei Kikuchi has signed a 3-year $63 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels. Seahawks Linebacker Boye Mafe joins the show to talk about their great win over the Cardinals and how his season has been going with the changes that have been made with defensive personnel. Even though the Seahawks won on Sunday, what are the issues with this offense? Could it be Ryan Grubb’s play calling, players missing their assignment, poor decision making at QB?
As the Seattle Seahawks defense continues to look more and more each week like a very good unit, the similarities to how head coach Mike Macdonald built things in Baltimore are becoming more evident. And as we start to see the results on the field married up to the verbiage Macdonald has been using for the past few months, might his recent comments about the offense also give instill confidence that THAT unit is on it's way as well? A rainy typical fall day in the Pacific Northwest the Seahawks stood defense was dominant, shutting down the 1st place Arizona Cardinals attack, as the home crowd got to see the full force of Coach Macdonald's defense. Brock and Salk take a look at what's changed defensively for the Seahawks over the last few weeks and where the biggest improvements have been. The, they get into all of their Seahawks Takeaways.
Brock and Salk marvel over how great the Seahawks defense looked in the win over the Cardinals and what worked for them. Then, Salk wants Brocks thoughts on Ryan Grubb, specifically the play designs and ways in which he isn't helping the offensive line. In Blue 88, topics include what is sustainable and unsustainable from these Seahawks games, how the Seahawks kept James Conner to eight rushing yards on seven carries and what truly remarkable metric the Lions have going for them right now.
The Seahawks defense shines bright as they defeat the Arizona Cardinals 16-6 in a hard-fought divisional matchup. Coming off a tough loss to the Rams, Seattle's defense stepped up in a big way, holding the Cardinals to just six points. The defensive line was relentless, pressuring Kyler Murray and shutting down the run game, limiting James Conner to a mere 8 yards on 7 carries. Geno Smith and the offense had their struggles, but a key screen pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba set up the go-ahead score. Despite some offensive hiccups, the Seahawks' defense carried the day, with standout performances from Leonard Williams and a pick-six by Kobe Bryant sealing the win. Looking for more Seahawks shows? With two unprecedented moves in the bye week, as the Seahawks started center retired and their leading tackler was waived, this felt like a pivotal moment in Coach Mike Macdonald's young coaching career. The offense shows some improvement and the defense stepped up in a big way against the Niners offense. Brock Purdy was limited to one of the lowest totals of passing yards in his career and Christian McCaffrey was held relatively in check. It all set up for Geno Smith to pick up another "stat" in the closing moments of the game. Looking for more Seahawks shows? On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett welcomes his weekly guests, Danny Kelly, from The Ringer and John Canzano from JohnCanzano.com Puck starts off the show addressing the Seahawks defense and just how bad it's been this year and in fact it's worse than it was last year under Pete Carroll. The whole reason you fired Carroll and to bring Macdonald in was to fix the defense. So far, Macdonald has not done that. Russell Wilson was vintage Russell Wilson last night and Puck that he was done forever in the league, but he's happy to see what Wilson is doing and happy to be wrong…yet again! Danny Kelly, The Ringer, stops on by to chat about the NFL, Seahawks and to answer your fantasy football questions. Danny and Puck talk more about Wilson and both agree that he looked great on Monday against the Giants and agreed that no player believes in himself more than Russell Wilson. Puck and Danny try to figure out what's wrong with the Seahawks defense. How can they be worse than they were last year? Are we starting to feel nervous about the Macdonald era or do we need to be patient with the new head coach? Have you had enough of Hail Mary talk? Puck and Danny are over the Commanders Hail Mary play breakdown on all the talking shows on TV. Listen, it was a Hail Mary. It was lucky. Move on! Danny offers his fantasy football advice on a waiver wire Tuesday. Lastly, a new feature for Puck and Danny, they put a player, coach, or team on the “Barge” each week. Last week they put the 49ers on it, but they have decided to rescue the Niners from the “Barge” after their win against Dallas. This week, Danny put Seahawks center Conner Williams on the Barge and Puck went with Colts QB Anthony Richardson for taking himself out of the game last week. John Canzano, from JohnCanzano.comdrops by for his weekly visit to chat about all things college football. Puck and John start off the segment talking about the inexact science of college football polls and why they are so meaningless to begin a college football season. The problem with the polls is that they influence the way the media portrays certain teams. John is a Heisman voter, if John voted today, who would he give it too? Puck agrees with John's pick. Do the Cougars have a realistic shot at the College Football playoffs? John is more optimistic than Puck…shocker! They also talk about the situation at Penn State with head coach James Franklin. How come coaches and schools can't handle their public relations and communications better? Finally, John has new information on the Pac-12 reaching a deal with Octagon, a national company that will try and secure the Pac-12 a new media rights deal. Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck can't believe the CEO of Taco Bell is a graduate of Washington State and he wants a Taco Bell inside the stadium and he wants NIL deals for all the athletes. In fact, he wants the field and stadium to be renamed after Taco Bell!

The Seahawks are back in the lead in the NFC West with a decisive 34-14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, moving above .500 and showcasing what might be their most complete game of the season. We break down the top plays and highlight the defensive turnovers that helped seal the win. Boye Mafe's standout play and Ken Walker, playing despite an illness, were pivotal. With turnovers finally swinging in Seattle's favor, the team capitalized on opportunities, and the defense was able to close out a win for our Seahawks. Looking for more Seahawks shows? Brock and Salk discuss how the Seahawks had plenty of defensive injuries yesterday, but also how the Lions are a better team right now. They also talk through what they learned about the Seahawks after watching that game. In Blue 88, they go over why Joe Buck was right, PFF grades and early lines for the upcoming college football weekend.
The Seahawks got a 400 passing yard performance by Geno Smith and a three touchdown rushing performance by Ken Walker and they still lost by two scores to the Detroit Lions. Key injuries along the defensive line limited the pass rush and allowed Jared Goff to have a perfect performance on the day. An early fumble by DK Metcalf put the Seahawks behind early, but in previous weeks we saw the defense help limit the points given up from mistakes on offense. In addition to the three touchdowns, Kenneth Walker had an incredible broken tackle that still has us in disbelief that he never touched the ground. Looking for more Seahawks shows?
