We are THREE sleeps away from NFC Championship! These two teams are so evenly matched that only 1 yard separates them in their two matchups this season. The number 1 offense going against the #1 defense, who has the advantage and how confident are we that Mike MacDonald's defense can stymie the Rams? The Seahawks offense has been nothing but consistent against the Rams, putting up 414 and 415 yards in each of the two matchups, with turnovers being the issue in that first game and they still had a chance to win it. :30- ICYMI: Matt Haselbeck joins us on Wednesday mornings and we talked to him about Sam Darnold's injury, something he dealt with as well. Did Darnold favor the injury? Would there be any issues this week? Does Darnold just need to keep letting it rip? Stafford is having his best year yet… :45- The AFC Championship is Sunday and Denver will go up against the Patriots without Bo Nix. Can backup QB Jarrett Stidham do enough for the Broncos to get the win? Maybe, with that defense. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Mike MacDonald spoke to the media yesterday and gave his thoughts on turnover differential, Puka Nacua and the health of his quarterback. Sam isn't taking all the reps in practice and we are ok with that. Puka is a force, can the Seahawks defense stop him from getting 200+ yards again? Seattle has a positive turnover differential in every game except against the Rams, is MacDonald concerned about that? :30- MIKE SANDO (The Athletic) What's going to determine this outcome on Sunday? Ken Walker is the guy now that Charbonnet is out- can he handle the workload? Does Mike give Jarrett Stidham a chance to pull off the win over the Patriots? Does Sando have any belief in the Patriots? What's going on in Buffalo? :45- We close out the show with one last thing! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Headlines and 12th Man News with GREGG BELL (Tacoma News Tribune) - The Zach Charbonnet injury seemed like it wasn't going to be bad… but it is. A torn ACL will require surgery and have him out for the next 8+ months. - What's going on with Sam Darnold's oblique? - The Rams are next and last game Puka Nacua and the Rams offense went off, so how will MacDonald game plan for their 3rd matchup? :30- The Char-Coacherie board has gotten very full! - Robert Saleh is expected to finalize a deal with the Titans and the Dolphins hired their new Head Coach. - The Bills fired Sean McDermott, but do they have a plan for their next head coach and where will McDermott end up? :45- Has PI gotten too complicated? Last night's refs were consistent in not calling PI's and it was good, but far too often there are inconsistencies with PI calls. How can we expect players to know how to play if they don't know what isn't and isn't going to be called PI? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
MMQB with HUGH MILLEN - Saturday's win was delightful - The defense harassed Brock Purdy all night, are they Championship worthy? - Mike MacDonald got the better of Kyle Shanahan again. - How much credit needs to be given to this offensive line? :30- We are back with more MMQB and Hugh's thoughts on Sam Darnold and the offense's performance. :45- Hugh can't wait for next Sunday when we get to see Mike MacDonald's ability to adjust at work again. He's not saying Seattle is going to win, because the Rams are good, but if they lose, it won't be because they gave up 500 yards. How concerned should we be about Puka Nacua? And now all of the pieces of the Divisional round are in place. The Houston defense is really something special and New England will have a tough test next weekend. Meanwhile, the Steelers are headed home and TJ Watt has never won a playoff game. What's next for Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rdogers? :30- The Steelers season is done and that means DK's season is done, so how did his season compare to JSN's and how obvious is it that John Schneider knows what he's doing and isn't afraid to take risks? :45- It's list season and Mariners pitching prospect Ryan Sloan is #6 on the list of the top pitchers and that's pretty damn good! First he's here, then he's gone and now… he's back? Demond Williams signed a revenue sharing deal with UW on January 2nd, before deciding he could do better at LSU and announcing he was entering the transfer portal, blindsiding coaches, teammates and his agent. Unfortunately for Demond, the contract he signed was legally binding and now, he's “decided” to come back to UW. Can he earn the trust of his teammates, coaches and the fans back or is the damage done? :30- Are the Seahawks peaking at the right time? We talked to Matt Hasselbeck about it on Wednesday and his thoughts on how hot the Hawks are right now sparked a conversation. :45- We do it every Friday, it's our No Cliché Keys to Victory! Our Gameday show continues as we countdown to tonight's Thursday night Football matchup! A lot was put on Sam Darnold after the loss the first time these teams met up and rightfully so. Sam took the blame himself, but he can't come out and play scared and we don't think he will. He remained confident in game 1 despite 4 interceptions, so if we can just avoid the mistakes under pressure, we have confidence that Sam can get the job done, weather permitting. Yes, the weather can't be ignored, so it may dictate what both teams can actually do offensively and we sure do hope the Seahawks don't force the run-game if it isn't working. :30- MIKE SANDO (The Athletic) What is Mike's favorite part of this big matchup tonight? Thoughts on Sam Darnold and the rematch between these two teams and how does Mike see the NFC West shaping up? :45- We close out the gameday show with one last thing! Will the wind be another reason the Seahawks will try and establish the run and will it work this time? What did the Hawks do to shut down Stafford in the last meeting and how will they adjust tonight? :30- We are back with more of the roundtable… Some are calling tonight's game “the biggest game of the year. It's GAMEDAY!! Is this the biggest regular-season game in the last 5 years? 10 years? The Seahawks will be without Charles Cross tonight and we still don't know if the Rams will be without Adams or not, but their other wide receiver, Puka Nacua is the one making headlines this week. :30- Should Kyle Shanahan win Coach of the Year? The 49ers have dealt with more injuries than anyone and they're still in contention to win the NFC West. What's going on at UW? Several big name players are heading to the transfer portal- do they know something we don't? The last time the Seahawks and Rams met, the Rams won the game, even though it seemed the Hawks outplayed them. Did The Seahawks actually outperform their NFC West rivals? We break it down. The Seahawks have a chance at revenge and weather could play a factor, but if Seattle can win the turnover battle (or lose it by less), they should be in good shape. Headlines and 12th Man News with GREGG BELL (Tacoma News Tribune)- As far as regular-season games, this one is about as big as it gets! What the buzz at the VMAC about weather implications on Thursday? What's the biggest challenge the Seahawks face? Will we see philosophical changes from the Seahawks because of the magnitude of the game and the opponent? What is Gregg's key to the game this week? Latest injury report? Will Charles Cross be ready to go? Will Adams be out for the Rams? :30- The Mariners hot stove is simmering… Over the weekend, Jorge Polanco signed a 2-year, $40 million deal with the NY Mets. It sounds like the M's made a competitive offer, but he followed the money to NY and we can't fault him for that. So, now the team has to find someone to fill that hole left by Polanco. Who will it be? Is Brendan Donovan a good fit? :45- There's a lot at stake on Thursday apparently… Do the rules need to change for field goals? It's getting too easy for teams and kickers to take advantage of the current kicking rules. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's not for lack of effort, so what's going on with this team? Things don't get easier tonight with the Colorado Avalanche in town. :45- Injuries could play a role in Thursday night's game. The Seahawks could be without Charles Cross and the Rams could be without Davante Adams, but they still have plenty of offensive weapons. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We have a BIG game on Thursday and with the short week, it's time to focus on the Seahawks and Rams on Thursday Night Football. There is so much riding on this game as the 11-3 Seahawks host the 11-3 Rams for the division lead and a playoff spot. Now, as these two teams prepare to face off, the Rams could be without Davante Adams and the Seahawks have some injury questions as well. It's not just the injuries though, this Seahawks team must avoid another slow start and figure out a way to get their redzone productivity. :30- What's going on with the Michigan head coaching job? Jedd Fisch, Kalen DeBoer and Kenny Dillingham have all been mentioned a lot. DeBoer has made it very clear he has no interest in the job, while Dillingham has also pledged his allegiance to ASU (kind of) in a tear-filled speech. Fisch has stood by the comment that he will be at Washington next year, but do we believe all of these guys? Not until Michigan makes the hire and it's not one of them. Is Michigan waiting for something? :45- The Seahawks run game plan isn't working and the offense seems to be struggling as a whole because of it. When should the Seahawks change things up in-game? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
MMQB with HUGH MILLEN Hugh isn't concerned by the close game or by how they defended Phillip Rivers, but he does have some concerns, where does he start? Why didn't the Seahawks defense attack more? Hugh sets the record straight on whether or not Phillip Rivers had a good game. It's plain and simple; there was one problem coming out of yesterday's win. Why are the Seahawks unable to score a touchdown and having to settle for field goals? :30- We return with Hugh and MMQB and get Hugh's thoughts on Klint Kubiak's huddle with the offense and the sloppiness we saw from them at times. :45- We wrap up the first hour with Hugh with some positive thoughts and glimpses of what we saw yesterday. Can the Seahawks defense contain Jonathan Taylor? Will Rivers just hand the ball off and play it safe and can the Colts afford that? The Colts defense is still a concern for Sam Darnold and the Seahawks offense. :30- Oh look at that! Somehow Notre Dame has made themselves even MORE unlikeable! :45- We've been talking so much about Phillip Rivers return, so what's the 2nd most interesting thing about the Seahawks/Colts matchup? No Buck today as he deals with flood waters at his house, but he is safe! We are thinking of everyone having to deal with this extreme flooding and hope you are safe as well. Now, onto sports... Michigan fires Sherrone Moore for cause and now, the head coaching possibilities are hitting very close to home as Jedd Fisch, Kalen DeBoer and Chris Petersen's names have been rumored at the top of the list. What the Michigan mess could mean for the Washington Huskies… :30- Phillip Rivers really might START on Sunday against the Seahawks, it's unbelievable. He's been out of the league for 5 years, can he really pull off a successful comeback? :45- The Kraken got a BIG win last night against the Kings in overtime and boy, did they need that! Max Brosmer never stood a chance. The Seattle Seahawks dominated in a 26-0 shutout victory over the Minnesota Vikings. We dive into the incredible defensive performance, highlighting standout plays from DeMarcus Lawrence, Ernest Jones, and a defensive line that overwhelmed Minnesota's offense. Offensively, the Seahawks did enough to complement the defense, with Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet grinding out yards against an aggressive Vikings front. While not impressive, Sam Darnold put together the kind of performance we wished we could have seen against the Rams a couple weeks ago. The Seahawks close out November tied at the top of the division with Los Angeles as their re-match looms on the horizon.
Brock and Salk give some major props to Demarcus Lawrence and his success this year, which sparks a conversation of who the second best player on the Seahawks defense could be behind Leonard Williams. **The Mike Macdonald Show can be found exclusively on the Seattle Sports YouTube page and the Seattle Sports app until 10 am Tuesday morning.
