Originally released on the 27th of May 2015!!! (The original episode contained) In episode 20 of the podcast we catch up with what each other has been watching and/or listening to since last we recorded. Liam tells of his experiences in America. Next we look at the connections between some of the lost classic Doctor Who serials and a landfill in a New Mexico desert (audio segements came from ATARI: Game Over, a documentary made in 2014). I reference some facts that The Tin-Dog Podcast's host Michael, has made in some of his past podcasts (I don't know which one, but I'm sure they exist). Once we hit the news, Liam shares his frustration with Disney and their lack of consideration towards Star Wars fans for what they'll be doing with the continuity established in the book series once episode VII comes out in December. We discuss the news and future releases from Big Finish regarding Torchwood, Doom Coalistion, The Worlds of Big Finish (extreme crossover release) and it's potiential marketing sceme. When we get to the reviews we first finish discussing The Two Doctors classic story, focusing on audio only, but my explaining of what happened visually to add clarification to the story. Next we discuss the Big Finish releases: The Defectors - by Nick Briggs; Last of the Cybermen - by Alan Barnes; Death Match - by Matt Fitton; Suburban Hell - by Alan Barnes; The Well-Mannered War - by Gareth Roberts, adapted by John Dorney; Damaged Goods - by Russell T. Davies, adapted by Jonathan Morris. During the review of Damaged Goods we get into the a second discussion/debate on Doctor Who "Cannon" or what is and what is not cannon, and then back to Star Wars cannon and not cannon. I make a reference to @DoctorSquee's Gallifrey Stands Podcast interview with Paul Cornell. We finish up the show reviewing Jago & Litefoot sereis 9, Blake's 7 Truth and Lies, and Terrahawks Vol. 1, before a quick Game of Thrones discussion to end episode 20. Stay tuned for more Doctor Who goodness, including monthly Big Finish reviews, audio commentary, retro-reviews, the DWAP "Rassilon Seal of Approval" and beyond!

Ever wondered what it's like to spend Christmas with a Dalek? Mark & Joe plunge themselves into Nick Briggs' Dalek War. Can lightning strike twice for Suz, Alby and Karlendorf?
Forget the Star Beast, the return of David Tennant and that surprise cameo by the Monoids.... probably. It's time for a brand new episode of Too Hot For TV. This time Dylan is joined by Pete Lambert, together they traverse both comics and audios. First up it's the Doctor Who Weekly comic strip 'The Tide of Time' written by Steve Parkhouse with art by Dave Gibbons, featuring the Fifth Doctor. Then it's Sixth Doctor and Charlie Big Finish Audio 'The Condemned' written by Eddie Robson and directed by Nick Briggs. And as always they answer the questions: Who is Peter Davidson?Who had a catalogue of imaginary Doctor Who Toys?Which doctor who monster is not a Twink?
As the anniversary month continues here at Too Hot For TV, Dylan is joined by Luke Molloy to look at two very different relaunches of two different Doctors. The first adventure they review is the 9th Doctor audio ‘Ravagers' written and directed by Nicholas Briggs and starring Christopher Eccleston. Then they look at the very first 8th Doctor DWM comic 'Endgame' featuring the Celestial Toymaker, written by Alan Barnes with art by Martin Geraghty, Robin Smith & Robin Riggs. And of course they answer the burning questions: Who is an uncle after 7 panda pops?Who was doing Big Finish before Big Finish was doing Big Finish? What is Geordi bollox?
We complete our round-up for the classic Doctor Who audio stories (i.e. pre-Big Finish). We hadn't take a listen to the good old Genesis of the Daleks LP, so Kenny, John and Steevie turn back the clock to 1979 and give it a listen. Plus, the bottomless address book is opened, as the voice of the Daleks and Big Finish executive producer Nick Briggs joins us, to share his memories of the release, and why it this release was so important to a generation - both then, and in the future.

Then they return to Telos in the Big Finish Fourth Doctor story 'Return to Telos' written and directed by Nicholas Briggs. Doctor Who is bloody old now, and what better way to celebrate it than get a bunch of Doctors together and get them not to play the Doctor. In this episode Dylan and Jack look at 30th anniversary "special" 'The Airzone Solution' staring Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy. Written by Nick Briggs and directed by Bill Baggs, this oddity has almost nothing to do with Doctor Who. Then they look at 40th birthday bash 'Zagreus' from Big Finish, much like 'The Airzone Solution' this stars Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy not playing the Doctor at all, but fortunately Paul McGann is there playing Zagreus and sometimes the Doctor. The 3 hour and 55 minute epic is written by Gary Russell (who also serves as director) and Alan Barnes.
With Jack still passed out in his delta wave augmenter, Dylan is joined by Mark from 'On The Timelash' to look at an epic run of eighth Doctor, Fey and Izzy comic strips. First up is 'The Final Chapter' by Alan Barnes, with art from Martin Geraghty and Robin Smith. Then Nick Briggs is temporarily the Doctor in 'Wormwood' by Scott Gray with art from Martin Geraghty & Sean Longcroft. If you haven't heard of 'On the Timelash' (shame on you!), you can listen to them at https://onthetimelash.wordpress.com or wherever you get your podcasts.
Bilton-in-Ainsty's off-spin bowler Nick Briggs has quite the story to tell. He now has more than 2,000 wickets in club cricket in a career that began in 1975 - and he has the record to prove it!
The pace quickens for the Doctor and Nova in the middle episode of Big Finish's Ravagers which we listened to this week. Ben found the timey-wimey plot lines a bit confusing, but is intrigued by what might be going on with Audrey. David thought author Nick Briggs was doing well weaving together RTD and Moffat styles and really hopes Nova (and Audrey) will still be alive by the story's conclusion. Join us this week as we talk about Cataclysm! Opening and closing music is from the Ravagers score composed by Howard Carter. We recorded this episode on 25 May 2021.
Two fine examples of body horror, Ben and Mark discuss Cyber origins by way of 'World Enough and Time'/'The Doctor Falls' and the Big Finish audio 'Spare Parts'. As well as discussing the inevitability of the Cybermen, they also discuss the relatable aspects of the Master's self-destructive downfall. With 'Spare Parts', they ponder how much Big Finish has changed since the show returned in 2005 and how you avoid the pitfalls of "just doing Genesis of the Daleks again". Also: Has Steven Moffat actually written the last ever episode of Doctor Who? What does the Doctor's failure say about the political climate of 2017? And what's it like to cook a lasagne in the company of four different versions of Nick Briggs?
David and Michel are joined by Sam (@sammy_crow) to talk about...well, everything but The Long Game, really. Don't miss out on some great chat about Nick Briggs' Christopher Eccleston impression, Simon Pegg, and...seriously, that impression, wow.
David and Michel talk about the return of Doctor Who's most iconic villain (as well as the replacement villain we almost got), Michel does a funny Dalek voice, and we wax lyrical about how great Nick Briggs is and why we should get free Big Finish stuff.
Ben and Mark discuss two TARDIS trips to bonnie Scotland by way of 'The Eaters of Light' and 'The Highlanders'. As they're roman in the gloaming, they chat about Peter Capaldi's old-school charm, the National Theatre of Scotland, the Falkirk Wheel and Ben's crystal waving fascination with standing stones. After that they top up their glasses and visit another blood soaked battlefield as they discuss balancing historical horror with swashbuckling adventure in 1967's 'The Highlanders'. Mark discusses another BBC production about the battle of Culloden and the lads discuss the historical importance of those dark days in 18th century Inverness. There's some laughs too! ALSO: Who pulls a reverse Marter? An appreciation of Nick Briggs' unique interview style and some gratuitous Proclaimers.

Which sees the fourth and tenth Doctors unite against the Daleks. They also take look at DWM comic 'Emperor of the Daleks!' written by Paul Cornell with art by Lee Sullivan, which sees the sixth and seventh Doctors cross paths.

In this episode of Doctor Who: Alhambra Podcast, we look into any recent Doctor Who news, as we eagerly approach the September 19th release of series 9 of the new series of Doctor Who. Thanks to DoctorWhoNews.net for providing the news we featured on this episode. Once we begin the reviews, we discuss the Iris Wildthyme series 5: Wildthyme Reloaded release briefly. Make a connection between the Omega Factor series and the X-Files. Big Finish release #202 The Warehouse, featuring the 7th Doctor and Mel is discussed with some of our complaints regarding this average, good jumping point episode, and 1980's TV style of making a Doctor Who. Next we have a spoiler heavy review and discussion of the Fourth Doctor Adventure 4.08, Return to Telos. Liam totally comes to the defense of this story, and finds it being one of the best two-parter 4th Doctor Adventures and a great 4th Doctor story. I find myself on the other end on this release, and provide reasons why it is less than spectacular. Next, we look at The Sixth Doctor: Final Adventure release, which wraps up the Colin Baker's time as the Doctor finally complete, as we now have a proper regeneration story for the 6th Doctor that ties up some questions fans have had since Time and the Rani (except if you are into the BBC Books and perfer Spiral Scratch by Gary Russell). We finish off this months reviews with This is Colin Baker Big Finish Interview, featuring Colin Baker interviewed by Big Finish's own Nick Briggs. After the good bye's and beggin for downloads on the iTunes subscriptions, emailing the show, or tweet one of us, we have a special thing that was teased. @bigfinish #bigfinish #doctorwho #drwho #gally1 DOCTOR WHO - THE SIXTH DOCTOR: THE LAST ADVENTURE 4 February 2015 Categories: , , , , September 2015 sees the release of a very special story from Big Finish, as Doctor Who - The Sixth Doctor: The Last Adventure at last provides a heroic exit for Colin Baker's much-loved Time Lord... It's with some delight we can confirm some tweets and posts, photos and rumours, that something very extra special is coming for fans of the Sixth Doctor at Big Finish, with the September release of . Colin's last outing in the Doctor Who role on television was The Trial of a Time Lord in 1986, but there was no proper handover story to Sylvester McCoy when he joined the series in 1987. Now, 28 years later, the full details of the Sixth Doctor's death will be revealed - and it's part of an epic battle that spans many sections of his life, and involves many of his companions. ‘I spoke to Colin not long after Matt Smith's final outing, The Time of the Doctor, was broadcast on television,' says producer David Richardson. ‘I felt very strongly that regeneration stories, and each Doctor's final end, are very important to Doctor Who fans - these are stories that allow us to see the Doctor at his most courageous, making a sacrifice that only makes us love him more. And so I asked Colin if he might finally consider doing the Sixth Doctor's final story with us. To my huge delight, he said yes.' ‘I owe a lot to Big Finish,' says Colin. ‘They have given my Doctor the opportunity to live beyond those few episodes on television which were recorded during a time when the programme was under siege from various quarters. My Doctor did not benefit from that time. However at Big Finish the Sixth Doctor has lived and breathed anew and developed in a way that I am extremely happy with. ‘That would be the only reason I have agreed to bring my Doctor to an end - although it's not really an end, because Big Finish plucks stories from the whole era of every Doctor. But because I never actually filmed a regeneration, and left poor Sylvester floundering around in my empty clothing with a blond wig on, I have resolutely maintained the lie that I am still the Doctor and all the rest are imposters because I never regenerated!' (He laughs) 'So it's a tribute to the smooth talking people at Big Finish and the standard of the work completed thus far that I have cast aside my reluctance and joined all the other Doctors in actually having a regeneration. ‘And I can promise you: it's a cracker.' will be released in a lavish book-sized box set that contains special photography, bespoke illustrations and behind the scenes interviews, as well as four hour-long episodes. The stories are connected by the presence of Michael Jayston as the Valeyard, the entity that exists between the Doctor's twelfth and thirteen incarnations. The Sixth Doctor won't be alone in battle though, as he'll be joined across the adventures by Constance (Miranda Raison), Charlotte Pollard (India Fisher), Flip (Lisa Greenwood) and Mel (Bonnie Langford), as well as those dedicated detectives, Jago & Litefoot (Christopher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter, alongside Lisa Bowerman as Ellie Higson!) The saga opens with The End of the Line by Simon Barnard and Paul Morris, in which the Doctor and his latest companion Constance (Miranda Raison) investigate a commuter train that has lost its way… In The Red House by Alan Barnes, the Doctor and Charlotte Pollard (India Fisher) arrive on a world that is populated by werewolves. Stage Fright by Matt Fitton takes the Doctor and Flip (Lisa Greenwood) to Victorian London, where investigators Jago (Christopher Benjamin) and Litefoot (Trevor Baxter) explore theatrical performances that have echoes of the Doctor's past lives… Finally, time is running out in The Brink of Death by Nicholas Briggs, as the Doctor and Mel (Bonnie Langford) face the final confrontation with the Valeyard - and the Doctor must make the ultimate sacrifice. ‘It's been such a pleasure to work with Colin on these, giving him a whistle-stop tour of his era,” says Nick, who is also directing. “I felt privileged to write his final moments too.
