Today, the Two Mikes and our producer Fadi spoke about the road we have traveled together to reach our 500th podcast. We reminisced a bit about the past, but mostly discussed how lucky we have been able to speak with so many really good and smart guests, men and women who taught both us and our listeners a lot about how the world really works when you talk to genuinely knowledgeable Americans and Foreigners who love the United States and understand the beauty and worth of the U.S. Constitution. We have gone toe-to-toe with a couple of our guests on some issues, but only one has ever refused to return. Almost needless to say we talked to that fellow about the events of January 6th, about which he knows a great deal, and we asked him to come back again, a request to which he agreed, but he never answered another of our emails. This fellow – who advertises himself as “Proud Jew” -- must have gotten a call from the ADL or AIPAC ordering him to stop speaking with the two old guys who -- unlike most recent presidents -- believe America is overwhelmingly more important than Israel. You can take it to the bank, that over our 500 podcasts we have encountered a goodly number of this guy's brethren who will damn and condemn us but will not agree to discuss their gripes on a podcast. Governor Newsom continues to stay on the offensive when it comesto abortion, trying to ensure access while also capitalizing on a potent campaignissue. The governor has launched another ad campaign, this time in thestate of Alabama, and tomorrow will unveil legislation aimed at Arizona. The governor has been unrelenting both in his criticism of red stategovernors and abortion bans, and his expansion of access to abortion inCalifornia. This latest TV commercial is aimed at Alabama, where Republicanlawmakers are trying to make it a crime to help a minor go to another state for anabortion. It's a pretty hard-hitting spot, with an Alabama highway patrol officerpulling over a car just before crossing the state line, making the teenager insidestep out to take a pregnancy test and handcuffing the woman behind the wheel. Meanwhile, tomorrow, Newsom will hold a news conference in Sacramento toannounce a bill that would let abortion providers from Arizona come to Californiato perform abortions, granting them expedited licensing, to accommodate theflood of women California anticipates if and when Arizona's 1864 ban is allowedto go into effect, as that state's Supreme Court has ruled it should. Republican lawmakers in Georgia are taking aim at the ongoing squatting problem in Atlanta, proposing a bill that would make it a criminal offense. According to the National Rental Home Council trade group, 1,200 homes have been taken over by squatters in the city. With law enforcement bound by tenant right laws, homeowners are left with limited options to reclaim their property, but the new law could make it easier. The proposed bill, named the Georgia Squatter Reform Act, expands criminal trespassing to include persons who enter property without the consent of the owner for any period of time.
