We're back again, one away from the end of the season. But first, we catch up on the latest news from us. Sarah watched the latest Jurassic Park and it was...uh...a movie. Joe meanwhile has watched two good animated movies: Kpop Demon Hunters and Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society. I can tell you who had the better time.In Chihayafuru, we continue on to the individuals tournament! Chihaya is injured but that won't stop her. She'll win with the power of left handedness. Then she rematches against Shinobu. Can she pull it out this time around? Probably not with that uinjury. Oh well, there's always next year...

The Berlin Film Festival is known for its political nature and this year's edition is no exception, with elections in Germany casting a shadow over proceedings and calls for a boycott over the event's attitude towards Palestinians in Gaza. Film critic Emma Jones takes us through some of the highly topical productions that are screening, from a Ukrainian documentary about how children are experiencing life in wartime to an Israeli film about actor David Cunio, who was taken hostage on October 7, 2023. Timothée Chalamet, Jessica Chastain and Robert Pattinson have all been on the red carpet in Berlin for premieres of their new films. We also check out a couple of the French features making their debut in the German capital, as Marion Cotillard gives a glacial turn as a Garbo-esque actress in "The Ice Tower".

Welcome to the Australian Open 2025 recap you didn't know you needed. Resh and Stef are back, and this time, they're breaking down Madison Keys' glorious Australian Open win. This woman didn't just win—she leveled up, bossed up, and made the tennis world her kingdom. Someone get this legend a crown. But hold on—this isn't just about tennis. Oh no. We're talking mental health, therapy, and why even superheroes (aka athletes) need a timeout before they explode into a stress fireball. Because winning is great, but not losing your mind? Even better. Then, things get musical. Mariah in Vegas was EVERYTHING. Kendrick Lamar at the Grammys. And somewhere in the chaos, we realized that pop culture and sports are basically long-lost twins.Meanwhile, Coco Gauff is out here making moves and probably saving puppies in her free time. Absolute icon. But on a serious note—safety for female athletes is still a huge issue. Because, shocker, stalkers are still out there being creepy, and it's not okay. Also, let's talk money. Sponsors aren't just nice—they're the reason athletes can actually afford to exist. No sponsors? No paycheck. No paycheck? No sports. Simple math. The Hard-Hitting, Zero-Chill Takeaways:

Today, the Two Mikes and our producer Fadi spoke about the road we have traveled together to reach our 500th podcast. We reminisced a bit about the past, but mostly discussed how lucky we have been able to speak with so many really good and smart guests, men and women who taught both us and our listeners a lot about how the world really works when you talk to genuinely knowledgeable Americans and Foreigners who love the United States and understand the beauty and worth of the U.S. Constitution. We have gone toe-to-toe with a couple of our guests on some issues, but only one has ever refused to return. Almost needless to say we talked to that fellow about the events of January 6th, about which he knows a great deal, and we asked him to come back again, a request to which he agreed, but he never answered another of our emails. This fellow – who advertises himself as “Proud Jew” -- must have gotten a call from the ADL or AIPAC ordering him to stop speaking with the two old guys who -- unlike most recent presidents -- believe America is overwhelmingly more important than Israel. You can take it to the bank, that over our 500 podcasts we have encountered a goodly number of this guy's brethren who will damn and condemn us but will not agree to discuss their gripes on a podcast. Anyway, the three of us want to thank all of our listeners for their support and comments, all of our sponsors who have made us rich – that's not true of course – and the Lord for letting two young - older men persevere through scores of shows and be blessed with great guests and marvelous listeners. Get your bullet-proof best on, cause this episode is HARD HITTING.This week, I'm bringing you a hard truth: if you want to achieve extraordinary things, you can't keep showing up in ordinary ways. I'm calling out the mismatch between dreaming big and playing small—and how that incongruence can absolutely sabotage your goals and visions. In this episode, I dive deep into why it's not enough to simply want extraordinary results. You have to match that energy with bold action, resilience, and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone. Whether it's in your career, personal growth, or your impact on the world, the journey requires you to act in ways that align with your dreams—not just think about them. We'll cover:Why big dreams demand big actionHow fear, comfort, and “playing it safe” keep you stuck in ordinary resultsThe importance of investing in yourself and backing your vision wholeheartedlyHow to start embodying the person who already has what they desireWhat it really means to step into the extraordinary and leave ordinary behindThis episode is your loving (and direct!) reminder to stop waiting for someone or something to save you. You have the power to create the life, career, and impact you desire—if you're ready to show up boldly for it.Key TakeawaysBig dreams require big action: You can't create extraordinary results by acting in small, ordinary ways.Comfort is the enemy of progress: Staying safe and stagnant won't move you closer to your goals.Your greatest investment is in yourself: When you level up your skills, mindset, and actions, the ROI is limitless.Be bold, take risks: Extraordinary achievements come from taking leaps of faith and betting on yourself.Stop waiting for a “golden ticket”: You are the key to your success, not external circumstances or opportunities.Timestamps00:00 – Gratitude for your incredible support and updates on my journey03:30 – Why so many people dream big but act small07:45 – The trap of comfort and why it keeps you stuck13:20 – How to embody the person who already has what they want18:15 – My own experiences stepping into extraordinary action25:00 – Practical steps to align your actions with your dreamsContinue the ConversationLet's connect! #968 Summary Golf Instructor Gareth Winslow joins us from New Zealand to discuss his teaching philosophies that lead to writing the book 'Playing the Lie: A Hard-Hitting Look at the Ridiculous Theories Ruining Your Golf Game', which challenges common misconceptions in golf instruction. He emphasizes the importance of fundamentals, proper warm-up techniques, and the significance of grip and setup in achieving a consistent golf swing. Winslow also critiques the overwhelming amount of information available to golfers today, advocating for a return to basic principles that truly impact performance.TakeawaysGolfers often receive misguided advice from well-meaning friends.Fundamentals are crucial for improving golf performance. Many golfers practice ineffectively, focusing on the wrong aspects.A proper warm-up is essential to prevent injuries. The order of learning in golf should start with putting and short game.Grip position significantly affects swing mechanics.Simplicity in technique leads to better consistency.Misconceptions about shoulder turn can hinder performance.Golf instruction should be based on cause and effect.Practicing with a clear goal is vital for improvement.Follow @golfsmarter on Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube for daily highlights and helpful insights from our interviews on the podcast.
