Are you feeling lost in the maze of social media buzzwords—dysautonomia, FND, or POTS—without clear guidance on what's actually going on with your body? Maybe you've been told to try one-size-fits-all solutions, like endless supplements or generic online programs, only to find yourself more confused and out of pocket. It's infuriating to see vulnerable populations being taken advantage of by flashy marketing or oversimplified solutions. The truth is, there's no magic pill for concussion recovery—it's a multi-layered, highly individualized process that demands expertise, collaboration, and real human connection. Let's talk truth bombs, spicy takes, and breaking free from the misinformation overload surrounding concussion care. In this episode, Natasha chats with the brilliant and fiery Dr. Michelle Eisenmann, a chiropractic neurologist who's unafraid to call out the BS in the field. From unmasking the buzzword traps to advocating for genuine, patient-centered care, Michelle shares her bold perspective on what it takes to truly heal from concussions—and why collaboration and personalized care are non-negotiable. Dr. Michelle Eisenmann attended Parker University where she earned her Doctorate degree in Chiropractic, her masters degree in clinical neurology and fellowship. She has a bachelors in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas and is a diplomate for the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. She has also completed additional courses in neurological studies with an emphasis on neuroplasticity, traumatic brain injury, post stroke rehabilitation, vestibular dysfunction, dysautonomia and more. Due to her own health and family history Dr. Eisenmann has a passion for healthy lifestyles. After battling with her own health concerns and family concerns involving cancers, polyneuropathies, neurodegenerative diseases to name a few. She dedicated herself to helping others as well. When she is not working at the clinic she assists people with brain injuries by teaching them how to live a lifestyle that is supportive to recovery. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, researching non toxic beauty products and learning how to play the ukulele. Being born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Eisenmann offers services in both English and Spanish. Dr. Eisenmann and Natasha are here to clear the fog. With their combined expertise in functional neurology and concussion recovery, they dive into actionable strategies, discuss why personalized care matters, and tackle the misinformation that's taking the internet by storm. Dr. Brandon Brock and I had a fascinating discussion about how inflammation is a key factor in neurodegenerative diseases. We explored how factors like diet, the environment, and post-COVID effects can worsen these conditions. Together, we emphasize the importance of a holistic treatment approach—combining diet, lifestyle adjustments, and innovative therapies like low-level laser therapy to improve outcomes. We also dive into exciting topics like the gut-brain axis, immune resilience, and the transformative potential of functional neurology. You don't want to miss this one! Key Takeaways: Impact of Inflammation on Neurodegeneration: Chronic inflammation significantly contributes to neurodegenerative diseases, making immune modulation essential. Role of the Gut-Brain Axis: The health of the gut directly affects brain function, illustrating the importance of holistic treatments. Post-COVID Inflammatory Burden: Long COVID acts as a catalyst for inflammation, affecting multiple organ systems, especially the brain and heart. Innovative Therapies: Non-thermal, low-level laser therapy can improve cellular function and reduce inflammation. Food as Medicine: Diet plays a critical role in preventing neurodegenerative diseases and overall health maintenance. More of Dr. Brandon Brock: Dr. Brandon Brock is a highly accomplished clinician and educator. He serves as a Staff Clinician at Carpathia Wellness and a Clinical Educator at Erchonia Medical. The tug-of-war battle between Associate and Practice Owner is well documented, but it doesn't have to be that way. There are many strategies and best practices to have a mutually beneficial experience for both the associate and the practice owner, and that is what we discuss in this week's podcast episode. In this episode, I interview Dr. Lisa Goodman, who recently published her book The Manual for the Chiropractic Entrepreneur. “Are you a Chiropractor, or are you an entrepreneur who happens to be a Chiropractor?” Strategic Coach found that Dan Sullivan likes to ask doctors this question, and it always makes me think. Part of being an entrepreneur is leading and leveling up your team, and associates are no different. Dr. Lisa Goodman believes that chiropractic is the best profession in the world. Certified in sports, prenatal, and pediatric chiropractic, as well as Titleist Performance Institute certified, Dr. Goodman founded Washington Park Chiropractic in 2006. She has a degree in marketing and communications and spent four years in brand advertising before graduating as valedictorian of her chiropractic college, Palmer West. She is known as an international speaker, author, teacher, mentor, and clinician in and out of the office at worldwide events.“THE MANUAL for the Chiropractic Entrepreneur,” published by Parker University, is Dr. Goodman's first published book. It serves as a comprehensive guide for both established and aspiring chiropractic entrepreneurs and offers strategies for launching and growing a successful practice.Grab your copy of Dr. Goodman's latest book here https://www.drlisagoodman.com/

How should educators prepare youth for democratic participation at a moment when democracy itself seems so fragile? For ESD's third anniversary episode, Walter Parker, professor emeritus at the University of Washington - Seattle, explores the answer to this question by sharing ideas from his new book, Education for Liberal Democracy: Using Classroom Discussion to Build Knowledge and Voice. In his new book and on this episode, he argues that education can and must address a twofold crisis in our democracy – a legitimacy crisis and an epistemic crisis. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University. Her serious personal health issues, such as being diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of 16, drove her to pursue a career in health care. Her passions include supporting her patients in avoiding health problems and becoming as healthy and pain-free as possible without the use of medications or surgery. She is more interested with identifying and treating the underlying issue than with masking the symptoms. She now lives in Dallas, Texas, with her beloved husband and daughter.
