Glenn Pendlay passed away early this morning. After moving back to his home hospital of McPherson on Monday night, he put up a good fight but wasn't able to withstand his illness. In true Glenn Pendlay fashion he kept on fighting longer than the doctors believed he could.Glenn used to describe himself as a samurai, someone who dedicates to themselves solely to the pursuit of one thing. Even in his final few weeks he continued to find ways to get to the gym on the off chance that he could help his athletes make even the tiniest bit of improvement.With his motivation and dedication to those involved in the sport of weightlifting, he made the world a better place. I for one wouldn't be close to the person I am today without him. We spoke on the phone for over an hour or two a week for the last few years of his life, and he changed the way I viewed the world.Whatever you guys plan on doing going forward, I believe we all owe it to Glenn to train/live with the ferocity and passion that he embodied. He motivated more people in his life than most can ever dream of.To the People's Coach!

Pendlay row är en övning som finns med i programmet Badass maxstyrka. Det är en roddövning där skivstången börjar från golvet i varje repetition. Pendlay row är lite som pausmark - du vill fly för att du måste hålla bålen anspänd hela tiden och vi tar bort momentum när stången startar död. Vem kan ha nytta av övningen? De som vill komma åt mittendelen på ryggen. Den som vill jobba med bålen extra mycket. Den som vill förbättra sin roddteknik. Så gör du: Börja med stången på golvet för varje repetition. Du behöver använda en lättare vikt än din vanliga stångrodd. Håll brett pronerat grepp (knogarna upp). Böj dina knän och fäll i höften, så att du är ungefär parallellt med golvet i överkroppen. Använd ditt buktryck. Knip med skulderbladen och dra stången mot bröstet, pausa gärna där en sekund innan du vänder. Stången ska ner i golvet på varje rep, ta ett nytt grepp med fokus precis som vid marklyft Jobba i ett repsomfång om kanske 8-10 reps då det är en övning som kräver mycket fokus och teknik i varje lyft. Gå därför inte för tungt utan jobba med kontroll. Testa, vad tycker du?
