If you’re entirely new to the idea of private label sales, this is the perfect episode for you to hear. Today’s guest is a regular guy from Australia who began his private label journey from square one. David had no prior business experience, no understanding of how private label sales on Amazon work, and very little in terms of resources. When he found this podcast he was turned on to the idea right away and began making plans. In this conversation you were going to hear that David took it from square one all the way to 6 figures per month in less than a year. It's a testimony of how doable this business model is and how realistically a person with zero experience can create a very good living for themselves. Can you do private label sales if you have no online business experience? This episode answers the question with a resounding, “YES!” David story is one inexperienced moving toward experience through the process of learning. David read and listen to everything he could about private label sales on Amazon and started taking action. It was those actions that brought clarity and understanding which is now translated into a very healthy monthly income. Take the time to listen to this episode, you will discover so many nuggets of gold for your private label business, whether you are a newbie or have been doing Amazon private label sales for a very long time. Keyword research tips you may never have considered. As today's guests began his own journey into Amazon private label sales he began to learn a lot on his own about keyword research. Yes, he had read and listen to many tutorials and instructionals on the subject but I learned a lot simply by doing. On this episode David shares some of the insights and tips he has learned about doing effective keyword research and not all of them are things you commonly here. You'll get a lot of value from this episode so be sure you take the time to listen. Do you know the “cash in/ cash out” equation? If you're considering private label sales on the Amazon platform you need to be aware of the many things that will bite into your profit margin over time. David learn the hard way that there is much more that comes out of the gross income figures than he expected. Now he operates according to what he calls the “cash in / cash out” equation. it is a simple way that he calculates the amount of profit he is going to receive from any potential product as he sells it on Amazon. Sticking to the results of the equation helps David to stay in a place of maximum profit while avoiding the pitfall of overestimating his success. If that sounds a bit confusing, it won't have to listen to this episode so be sure you take the time. Everyone wants to take the easy road, but it seldom leads to success. You don't have to spend much time online in the various business communities before you realize there are many, many people who are trying to take the easy way to significant income.  today's guest, David, has made the observation that the easy road may look best at first, but it seldom leads to genuine success. Hard work is involved, even in private label sales on Amazon. David's philosophy is that if you can be the expert, you should be. Yes, it takes a lot of time and hard work, but it is entirely worth it. Find out how David has a apply this attitude to his own private label business on this episode. In this episode I share with you my story of how my life literally changed overnight with one webinar.  It was from a live Periscope I did a few weeks ago that got more positive feedback than anything I've ever done.  It is the most vulnerable and open I've ever been in a training message.  At the very end I get overcome with emotions and gratitude for everything that has happened.  Last month I hosted my first ever paid training.  It was a live webinar, which was the first webinar I've ever done in my life.  I went into the process really not having any idea what kind of demand I would have for the product.  I had spent close to 7 months putting out as much free valuable content as I could and was finally ready to start to monetize my personal brand.  The results that I saw when I opened the registration were nothing short of extraordinary.  I announced the registration on a live Persicope and by the time I was done 15 minutes later over 70 people had already registered!  Within 2 hours I had almost 200 people that had registered from that Periscope.  That was over $5,000 I brought in from a single Periscope.  All total, I had over 1,100 people pay for the live training which brought in $35,000.  On the webinar I offered my group coaching program and a special discount for all the attendees.  Within 24 hours I had brought in a total of over $112,000 in income from that single webinar.  Overnight my life literally changed from that happening.  I share with you some of the struggles I went through last year and how I was able to overcome them.  I give you the biggest lessons I've learned going through this process and hopefully inspire you to continue your journey to greatness.

The Amazing Seller Podcast

One of the most powerful ways for you to learn about anything is to have the opportunity to ask a “nothing off limits” question from somebody who’s already doing what you are trying to do for the first time. That’s what this episode of The Amazing Seller is for - it’s an “Ask Scott” episode where you get to Ask Scott Voelker your own question about selling on Amazon, either through Retail Arbitrage, Wholesaling, or Private Label sales. In this episode you’ll hear questions about tax issues, private websites, and sending email to customers. Pull up a chair and get ready to learn as you hear from an experienced Amazon seller about the practical parts of building and running a successful FBA business. What percentage of sales profits should an Amazon seller set aside each month?   That’s a very important question, and it’s one asked by a listener on today’s episode of “Ask Scott.” Naturally, there are variables to consider for each situation including your state of residence and personal tax bracket. But most importantly, you want to base your decision off professional advice from a qualified accountant or tax attorney. Having said that, Scott tells what he does, including how he reinvests profits into his Amazon business so he can get additional tax write offs. It’s practical stuff you won’t want to miss… and you’ll only hear it on this episode of The Amazing Seller. Should you set up a website for your Amazon products?   Many Amazon sellers do set up a website for the products they sell on Amazon to give a greater sense of legitimacy to their business. But Scott’s not sure that the investment in a website is really all that important, especially as you first get your business rolling. He’d rather invest that time and money in things that will get his product more reviews and greater exposure in the Amazon system. Find out why he recommends that and how he goes about doing it on this episode of The Amazing Seller. Getting reviews on your products is vital. How can you do it most effectively?   There are many 3rd party software programs that enable you to track your Amazon sales and solicit feedback from your customers. But is there a way to use those programs to solicit feedback on particular products rather than on your seller account in general? Yes, there is, and in this episode of “Ask Scott,” Scott Voelker walks you through how to do so in a couple of different software programs so that you can make the most out of those Amazon sales reviews and get your product ranking higher in the Amazon search algorithm. Every State in the U.S. has its own sales tax rate? How can Amazon sellers make sure they’re paying the tax that is due? Even experienced Amazon sellers will tell you that sales tax is one of the most confusing, frustrating parts of running a successful Amazon Business. A listener asks Scott a question about collecting and paying State sales tax in this episode, and as always, Scott gives practical, common sense advice about how to play by the rules when it comes to sales tax, and how to make sure you’re not taking those payments from your profits. Listen in to find out how you can ensure that your business is dealing with this important issue wisely. OUTLINE OF THIS EPISODE OF THE AMAZING SELLER [0:05] Welcome to this “Ask Scott” episode! [16:30] QUESTION #3: Is there any way to filter out who gets emails through Feedback Genius so I can focus on particular products within my brand? If you didn't get to listen to part one, Andrew "Andrij" Harasewych talks all about his success on Google Plus and how to build and maintain a successful group. It's a really cool episode and you will definitely want to listen to that as it's a great pre-curser to part two. Andrij Harasewych and Live Streaming Andrij.co has some great information on live streaming and some great how-to guides. Live streaming is a bit of a fad that has been around since 2013. It’s live streaming video and is the epitome of social media and proving your authenticity. It’s being real with your people. You can’t fake it, if you are hit with a question and you’re stumped, people will see that. But they can also see how you work your way through it and that’s a positive. People will see your thought process and not just a one sentence answer that is pre-prepared for Twitter or Google+. For those that need overly plan, live streaming may not work very well because you have to be able to think on your feet. Everything can go completely sideways and you really can’t go in with any plan. Andrij - Live Streaming to Connect with Your Followers Andrij sees some advantages to using live stream during a podcast interview. Since it’s your listeners that are wanting the information, they would be asking questions that they want answered. But it could also be a distraction during an interview seeing all of the questions and wanting to answer them immediately. It gives you an interesting angle and if you’re doing a hangout keep a Meerkat open because it’s simply another way to get questions and comments. Be sure to mention them in the show and be descriptive because they cannot see your Meerkat comments. For instance you could say, “Got a question from @soandso and he wants to know……” Andrij - Choosing a Live Streaming App Choosing a live streaming app is a choice like Facebook, Twitter or Google+. Each one has its strengths and drawbacks but each should survive. It’s tough to compare each app. Hangwith is the only live streaming on Android, Meerkat and Periscope work on iOS and you must have a Twitter account. Periscope and Meerkat are very equal platforms. Persicope is visually prettier. It’s the Apple of live streaming. It’s very streamlined and uncluttered. Whereas someone might look at Meerkat and say wow that’s really cluttered. Hangwith has a few major issues because it will keep others from liking it so much but it’s also a benefit in a way. New members are only allowed to stream for 15 minutes at a time. It eliminates the silly streams of my bathroom at night, etc. If you are verified by Hangwith, you can stream up to an hour. It can be live on your webcast. It’s the best platform to see both sides of the conversation. Andrij Harasewych Breaks Down Periscope Compared to social media, Periscope is the Facebook of live streaming. It’s designed for mass consumption that the random public might like and not necessarily just your following. It’s literally people just clicking on streams to watch. If you have a strong Twitter following, Periscope works great. The negative is the comments disappear rather quickly. If you aren’t staring at the screen, a question will be gone before you have had a chance to respond. The only way to get that question back is to re-watch your entire feed from your and see the comment. Live streaming is a great way to get organized on a subject. If you want to write a blog post about live streaming, get in there and open up a live stream for #livestreaming. Let people come and let them ask their questions and that will guide you with regard to what people want to know about. It’s a way to build your following and proving your authenticity. Andrij Harasewych - Meerkat's Features Through live streams you can grow your market. If you’re watching someone in your industry, leave them on and leave a comment. That person is then motivated to follow-up with and connect or follow you.
