Here in Episode 8 of Season 5, I interview Professor Sherif Girgis. A graduate of Princeton University, the University of Oxford, and Yale Law School, Girgis is a tenured professor of law at the Notre Dame Law School and a Spring 2026 visiting professor at Harvard Law School. A former law clerk to Justice Samuel Alito and member of the American Academy of the Arts and Letters, he is co-author of two books: What is Marriage? Man, Woman, A Defense (2012), and Debating Religious Liberty and Discrimination (2017). Using some of his recent articles and speeches—such as “The Future of Originalism” (2026)—we discuss the current state of constitutional jurisprudence. As an originalist and textualist reading of the Constitution has, thanks to advocacy groups like the Federalist Society, gone from a dissenting movement to the current governing theory of the Supreme Court, new problems have arisen that go beyond what early forerunners like Robert Bork and Antonin Scalia foresaw. We also discuss other (often competing) theories like living constitutionalism and living traditionalism, whether success has undone originalism, and what the future holds for this legal movement. Hosted by Ryan Shinkel, Madison's Notes is the podcast of Princeton University's James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions. La Porta | Renungan Harian Katolik - Daily Meditation according to Catholic Church liturgy
Delivered by Monika Kimmy from the Parish of Good Shepherd in the Diocese of Surabaya, Indonesia. Ezekiel 37: 21-28; Rs psalm: Jeremiah 31: 10.11-12ab.13; John 11: 45-56.AGREEMENT Our meditation today is entitled: Agreement. There isa story about heaven and earth that always fight each other. Quarrels are theirdaily meal. Small things, trivial matters, simple problems often trigger theiremotion to dispute and fight. When the sky sends too much rain, the earthprotests. Likewise, when the earth sends too much steam up, the sky protests.Whatever small thing in their conversation can become the reason to fight. But at some particular times and if it isnecessary, they both agree to work together. When human beings behave so brutalthat cause the distruction of the environment, the earth agrees with the sky tobring punishment for mankind. The surface of the earth becomes dry and the landcannot produce plants and fruits. The sky does not pour its rain. But whenhuman beings take care and safeguard well the earth and its environment, theearth agrees with the sky providing fertility and warmth for human life and allthe living creatures. An agreement is born from the different sides orparties who come together to collaborate and work together. The function ofagreement is to preserve such cooperation and togetherness. From the point ofview of our faith, the difference between the authority of God and the power ofthe Evil one is very real and sharp. We know well that the Lord and Satancannot work together. It is impossible to find an agreement between these two. But if they can make just a single point of agreement,it is because of the Lord Jesus Christ and His mission. An agreement betweenGod's will and Satan's will be finally designed through the intention, planand act of the scribes, the Pharisees and the high priests. They were allgreats opponents of Jesus Christ. God Himself already authorized through thetestimony of the Scriptures, that Jesus Christ would die for gathering anduniting the scattered children so dear to the almighty God. The same view alsocame from the high priest Caiaphas who prophesied that Jesus of Nazareth woulddie to gather and unite the scattered children of Israel. This agreement had to happen, so that Judas Iscariot, after being possessed by the Satan, was able to carry out his duties. Anagreement must be made so that we can celebrate the Lord's events from thegarden of Gethsemane to Golgotha until the moment of the Lord's burial. Thewill of the Father in heaven must be realized, but to carry out that will, there is an opportunity for evil, violence, and sin to take their roles. Thisof course, applies also to us, therefore Jesus has established a covenant, that alldifficulties and persecutions will come upon each of his followers. When wecarry out His will, the temptations, difficulties, suffering, persecution willgo along with us. God sees, permits and approves it. An agreement indeed hasbeen made for us. Let'spray. In the name of the Father ... O Lord, may we continue to follow the modelof Jesus Christ when we face all the sufferings in life. Glory to the Fatherand to the Son and to the Holy Spirit ... In the name of the Father ...

This sermon was delivered by Pastor Cory Klein at New Hope Church of Oxford on November 23, 2025. The text of Scripture is James 4:1-4.
James 4:1-2 is well-known but often not thought of when it comes to the marriage relationship. This verse can provide some special help in understanding your last conflict and moving towards a more positive discussion next time.To read the original blog post, visit https://www.thedisciplemakingparent.com/what-causes-fights-and-quarrels-in-my-marriage/
Quarrels divide what was once united, from the inside, but source and solution may be more unlikely than you think. A summer series through the book of James, a letter that serves as a how-to manual for the Christian life. When we deal with trials, contentions, and lack of faith, James teaches us that we can still have joy in the midst of our circumstances. The foundation of the book is the importance of faith; faith or the lack thereof can determine the direction of one's life.QUESTIONS FOR THE ROAD:1. With all honesty, how have you blamed others for your anger or envy in your frustrated desire?2. In your own words, what is the difference between acting in response to what God has done and acting because we think it is all up to us? 3. What does drawing near to God mean to you? What are the ways you can intentionally pursue greater relationship with God today, and this next week?

Quarrels don't continue without someone feeding the fire, and gossip is often the kindling. We may feel justified in defending ourselves, but Christ modeled a better way—humble silence, even when wronged. Choosing to walk away doesn't make you weak; it shows you trust the One who judges justly.

Why do Christians find themselves in times of quarrels and conflicts with each other and how are they supposed to deal with it? Join Kelly as he considers these questions by looking at the first four verses from James 4.www.instagram.com/thehishillpodcast/www.hishill.orgkelly@hishill.org
The Bible puts an important question to us. “What are the causes of quarrels and conflicts among you?” The Bible also gives us the wisdom to understand the causes and the cures of these conflicts. For Christians, the ultimate conflict between God and man is resolved in Christ. Now we live from a new heart in our relationships with others. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. One of the ways that we pursue this mission is by gathering each Sunday for corporate worship, prayer, and biblical teaching. The corporate nature of this gathering is both edifying to the believer and a witness of God's grace to the world. Sermon speaker is Scott Patty unless otherwise noted.
When do differences of opinion become quarrels? The Words of Grace Podcast seeks to clarify, amplify, and apply the Sunday morning sermon at Grace Community Church. From time to time we will address other topics. We hope these podcasts help impress the Word of God into your everyday life. Episodes are hosted by Josh Hussung and Scott Patty.

Listen Up, Younger Self! | Relationships, parenting, marriage, advice
Welcome to this episode of Listen Up, Younger Self, where Heather Solomon delves into the quirks that shift from adorable to irksome after marriage. Together, we explore why these changes happen, sharing laughter and insights along the way. Heather recalls her premarital counseling, reflecting on how the small annoyances of her husband's habits, like coffee slurping, magnified over time. She emphasizes the importance of accepting your partner wholeheartedly, quirks and all, and the unrealistic expectations of hoping for change post-marriage. Through her experiences, Heather shares the wisdom of embracing differences and loving your partner for who they truly are. Join us in a conversation about the art of embracing your partner's imperfections, the necessity of compromise, and the understanding that the little things that drive us crazy are also reminders of our deep connection. This episode serves as a reminder to choose happiness, navigate through the quirks with grace, and appreciate the roller coaster of relationships. What is your spiritual wishlist?Did you know that you can live life unoffended? In this message, Pastor Tim Martin shares how you can life an unoffended life. When offenses come, you can choose not to be offended. Every day we have choices.James 1:2Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. You predetermine that you will not be offended. Offense is a sister to unforgiveness. How do you deal with offense? If someone offend you, go to that person and reconcile with that person. Unforgiveness or offense is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick. Proverbs 10:12Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses. Matthew 6:14-15If you forgive those who sin against you, your Heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.Colossians 3:13Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Carrying offense is the same as holding unforgiveness toward another. Forgiveness is contagious. When you share your offense with others, people get mad because you are mad. Don't spread offense.Consider whether you are offended at God. Have you blamed God for something? You need to understand that there are some things you will never understand. If there is a loss that you have experienced, or something happened that you don't understand, know that God has got it. He is with you.
