Marni welcomes Rachel Russo to the Life Check Yourself studio, where they discuss what it means to find your person and the importance of aligning lifestyle and vision for the success of your relationship. Rachel has been working with people to help them find love for almost 18 years. The matchmaker, and dating and relationship coach has a long history in the industry and she's got a few gems to share on what it means to have a healthy relationship with the right partner. What's the deal with age gaps? He might not be what you're looking for Do you have core compatibility? It Starts with You [12:00] It's vital for you to know yourself before venturing out on the dating scene. What that means is that you need to figure out what is important for you, what your values are and how it is you want to spend your life. What they really need is core compatibility on how they want to live and how they want to be in a relationship. There Is Someone For Everyone [21:28] No matter what your situation, there is someone out there for you. Whether you're a single mom in her 40s or a three-times divorced woman in her 50s, there are men out there who are looking for your exact lifestyle and everything that makes you you. Don't be discouraged by anything anyone says and don't weave limiting narratives about yourself. The number of kids doesn't have to stop you. And also, being really upfront and clear [is important], like I'm not looking for a provider, I'm looking for a partner. Be Flexible [29:07] No one is saying compromise everything. But it's not just about these superficial qualities you're looking for. While attraction is necessary, and there are certain things every woman looks for to feel that romantic spark, there needs to be more flexibility. You have to strike a balance because we do have to rule people out. But we can't make these premature judgments, and a lot of the sabotaging has to do with these superficial things. Can we have it all? I talked to Rachel Russo who is also a matchmaker and relationship coach, about her decision to become a mom. No partners, no waiting around for the right man, she took matters into her hands and started the process of becoming a parent. After years of dating the wrong people, unsuccessful relationships and men flat out lying about their desire for children - she had enough and took charge of her life! We talked about that decision, how she became pregnant and how Covid impacted the already difficult process. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

You'll likely go out with a whole lot of women before you meet the one you want to keep around forever. And according to matchmaker Rachel Russo, you absolutely can meet her. She wants to assure you all women aren't crazy, pathologically jealous or gold diggers. In fact, her top way to know if you're with the WRONG woman is so simple it might surprise you, but it's also probably the first one that popped into your head. Find out why men fall for entering into relationships they don't even want, and how to make sure it never happens to you. You'll also get a valid definition of 'chemistry', and why it really is important to a relationship. What does it mean to be truly compatible with someone? And how about going back to someone from your past? Should couples be alike or do opposites attract? How much do common interests matter? Also discover what your style of relating has to do with long-term success, and how respect enters into all of this. Finally, how much self-work do you really have to do in order to be ready to meet the right woman? By the way, yes...'sex with a c' should have been 'copulation'. Even 'coitus' would have been acceptable, but it's hard to be that quick on one's feet all the time. There's no doubt about it...where you live can have a massive effect on your experience dating and relating to women. My co-host Rachel Russo is a matchmaker in her native New York City, so there's nobody better to talk urban dating with. So how about it...do 'alpha' career women in a city like The Big Apple have all the power? Rachel's first-hand take might surprise you. But what about living in a rural area? If you do, listen in for a counterintuitive but brilliant secret to meeting more women. We'll even hash out how to avoid the same old boring dates if you live in the suburbs. How is it that people can live in city a population of 20 million and still feel lonely? Are beautiful women everywhere really being jetted to Papeete by billionaires, leaving us 'normal' guys with no chance whatsoever? And most importantly, was that Rachel's pet pig that oinked at 29:30, or what? By the way, I realize now it was Eva not Zsa-Zsa, so cut me a break, will you?
