Bei mir ist es das Wort „leider“, im Sinne von, leider muss ich absagen, bin leider verhindert usw. Was bedeutet das leider? Für mich ist es eine in Watte gepackte, gesellschaftlich codierte Lüge. Genauso kann ich mit Floskeln oder Füllwörtern schlecht umgehen, wie "alles klar" oder „eigentlich". In diesem Gespräch geht es um den alltäglichen Einsatz von Ausreden – insbesondere um den häufig verwendeten Begriff „leider“ – und darum, wie sich unsere Kommunikation im digitalen Zeitalter verändert hat. Die Sprecher diskutieren humorvoll, wie man oft vermeidet, direkt „Nein“ zu sagen, und wie standardisierte Floskeln als Entschuldigung dienen, statt ehrliche Absagen zu formulieren. Dabei werden auch kulturelle Unterschiede (beispielsweise im direkten Ablehnen) sowie die Auswirkungen von Textnachrichten und fehlenden nonverbalen Signalen angesprochen.
