Recruiters can help jobseekers access confidential roles that never appear on LinkedIn or job application portals. But how do you know if a recruiter is representing you well? Nat Fetalvero and Gerald Tan speak with Gavin Teo, director at Michael Page, and Joshua Woo, founder of Recruit Fast, on how to spot red flags in inexperienced recruiters and how to build rewarding relationships with the person who could get you your next job.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Week 1 of our Culture Shift series, Michael Page walks us through Acts 2 and Colossians 3, showing us what it looks like to live out the culture of community as the Church. From the very beginning, God designed His people to live life together—sharing burdens, growing together, pursuing unity, and centering their lives around the mission of making disciples. Community is more than simply gathering in the same room; it's choosing to live on mission together and recognizing that every person has a place and a purpose within the body of Christ. As we embrace a culture of community, we become a church that is alive, active, and equipped to carry the gospel into our neighborhoods, our city, and the nations.
Week 23 of our Kingdom Code series, Michael Page walks us through Matthew 18:10–14, where Jesus reveals the heart of the Good Shepherd through the parable of the lost sheep. In this powerful passage, Jesus reminds us that every person matters deeply to God and that His desire is not for even one of His children to be lost. As followers of Christ, we're called to reflect that same heart by pursuing those who have wandered, restoring those who have fallen, and valuing every person as someone loved by the Father. Rather than celebrating condemnation, the Church is called to rejoice in restoration, carrying the ministry of reconciliation that Christ has entrusted to us. In every season, Jesus invites us to pursue others with grace, fight for unity, and reflect the relentless love of the Shepherd who never stops seeking the one.
Job market holds steady, PageGroup goes back to being Michael Page, Randstadt's global profits climb, Queensland rolls out big apprentice incentives, a Harvard study exposes a wild hiring bias toward fast repliers, Seek ad volumes keep sliding as competition hits a record for job applications.
RNA episode 171 has news for 28 July 2026, including the labour market update for June, PageGroup reverts to Michael Page, Randstad's global profits climb, Queensland rolls out big apprentice incentives, a Harvard study exposes a wild hiring bias toward fast repliers, SEEK ad volumes keep sliding as job competition hits a record. Question of the Week is "Who is HiTech and why did they buy Hudson?"
Week 22 of our Kingdom Code series, Michael Page walks us through Matthew 18:1–9, where Jesus answers His disciples' question about who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven by placing a child in their midst. Through this powerful teaching, Jesus reveals that true greatness is found not in status or recognition, but in humility, dependence on God, and a heart that reflects His own. As we follow Jesus, we're reminded to lay down pride, value those around us, and take sin seriously, recognizing its impact on ourselves and others. In every season, Christ calls us to embrace childlike faith, walk in humble obedience, and trust that life in His Kingdom is shaped by surrender rather than self-promotion.
Week 21 of our Kingdom Code series, Michael Page walks us through Matthew 17:24–27, where Jesus addresses the temple tax by reminding His disciples of His true identity as the Son of God. Although Jesus is not obligated to pay the tax, He willingly chooses humility over asserting His rights, instructing Peter to miraculously find a coin in a fish's mouth to cover the payment for them both. Through this moment, we're reminded that Jesus perfectly balances truth and grace, never compromising who He is while choosing to love and serve others. As we follow Christ, we're challenged to lay down our own rights when it helps remove unnecessary obstacles to the gospel, trusting that God will faithfully provide everything we need as we walk in humble obedience.
Week 18 of our Kingdom Code series, Michael Page walks us through Matthew 16:21, where Jesus begins to reveal His mission to His disciples—that He must suffer, be killed, and be raised to life on the third day. Though this truth was difficult for the disciples to understand, Jesus makes it clear that God's plan of redemption would come through the cross. This passage reminds us that following Jesus means trusting His purposes even when they don't align with our expectations. As we continue to grow as disciples, we're called to surrender our own plans, embrace His will, and find hope in the victory of His resurrection. We also celebrated an incredible Sunday as 25 people publicly declared their faith through baptism—a powerful reminder that lives are still being transformed as people choose to follow Jesus.
Today, Randy Gunn, BULLWEALTH's VP and Portfolio Manager, continues his podcast series on Artificial Intelligence with Michael Page, Senior Director of Data Science & Advanced Analytics at Unity Health Canada, one of Canada's largest Catholic healthcare networks serving patients, residents, and clients spanning St. Michael's Hospital, Providence Healthcare, and St. Joseph's Health Centre. Michael joins Randy to discuss how artificial intelligence is already being used in healthcare settings and where it may have the greatest impact in the years ahead. Together, they explore how AI can help relieve pressure on an increasingly strained healthcare system by reducing administrative burden, improving efficiency, and allowing clinicians to focus more on patient care. Their conversation also examines why healthcare organizations must be thoughtful about how AI tools are selected, trained, and governed, the importance of keeping human judgment firmly at the centre of decision-making, and how the best uses of AI can make healthcare more human, rather than less. Overall, they offer a practical and timely discussion on how Canada can use AI to strengthen healthcare delivery, support healthcare professionals, and help build a more effective and responsive system.
Week 17 of our Kingdom Code series, Michael Page walks us through Matthew 16:13–20, where Jesus asks His disciples one of the most important questions ever posed: "Who do you say that I am?" As Peter boldly declares that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God, we're reminded that true faith is built on a personal revelation of who Jesus is. This passage challenges us to move beyond secondhand opinions and confidently place our trust in Christ's identity and authority. Through Peter's confession, Jesus reveals the foundation of His Church and the power of a faith that recognizes Him as King. This message encourages us to know Jesus personally, boldly proclaim our faith, and live as people who have been entrusted with the mission of His Kingdom.
Send us Fan MailA recruiter who still loves picking up the phone after 16 years is either wired differently or has figured out something most people miss. Rav Prasad joins us to unpack how he went from selling gym memberships to thriving inside major agencies, then stepping out on his own and building Humanistics in Brisbane. Along the way we get into what the Michael Page environment demands, why standards and internal reputation can shape your career, and how those early years harden the skills that matter when markets turn. We compare agency cultures and recruitment KPIs in real terms, including what the Robert Half contracting engine feels like, why activity and connected calls change everything, and the downside of being siloed when you spot a great lead. Rav breaks down why he stayed in accounting and finance recruitment, how Brisbane has become more transactional, and why human connection is still the edge when everyone is moving fast. If you care about candidate experience, client trust, and doing business development without burning out, there are plenty of practical cues you can steal. We also go deeper on leadership and building a recruitment business. Rav shares the mistakes he regrets, why focusing on titles can pull you off track, and what “consistency” looks like day to day when you run your own desk. Then we look forward: AI in recruitment, where automation genuinely helps (admin), where it falls short (context), and why meeting people face to face still gives you information you cannot get on Teams. If you enjoyed the chat, subscribe, share it with a recruiter mate, and leave us a review so more people can find the show. Support the show· Our Website is: xrecruiter.io
Week 16 of our Kingdom Code series, Michael Page walks us through Matthew 16:1–12, where Jesus confronts the unbelief of the Pharisees and Sadducees and warns His disciples to beware of the “leaven” of false teaching. Through this passage, we're reminded that a hardened heart can miss what God is doing even when the evidence is right in front of us. Jesus challenges us to remember God's faithfulness, trust His provision, and guard our hearts against influences that pull us away from the truth. This message encourages us to live with spiritual discernment, steadfast faith, and eyes that are attentive to God's work in our lives.

Week 15 of our Kingdom Code series, Michael Page walks us through Matthew 15:29–39, where Jesus ministers to a crowd that has been following Him for days and miraculously feeds four thousand people with just a few loaves and fish. Through this powerful account, we're reminded that Jesus not only has compassion for our spiritual needs but also cares deeply about our everyday needs. This message encourages us to trust God's provision, bring Him what we have, and believe that He can do more with our surrender than we could ever accomplish on our own. Even when resources seem limited, God's abundance is more than enough.
Lipoprotein (a) (Lp(a)) was discovered in 1963 by a Norwegian geneticist by the name of Kåre Berg who studied particles that carried cholesterol in the blood. He found some patients had an additional protein on the low-density lipoprotein. Studies found that patients with elevated Lp(a) had increased risks of cardiovascular disease. However, the levels were not affected by diet, environmental factors, or medications. The result is that this test was largely ignored for the last few decades. Recent dyslipidaemia guidelines released by the United States and Europe have returned a focus back on to Lp(a). They recommend that patients should have Lp(a) tested once throughout their life to assess their cardiovascular disease risk. The result can help identify which patients are at a higher risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality and who will benefit from lifestyle modification and early intervention. This resource is referenced during the discussion: https://www.lpaclinicalguidance.com/ This is the story of lipoprotein (a). What if some job applicants aren't actually trying to get jobs — but are instead trying to infiltrate companies? Dani Tepedjiyska, who works with the recruitment firm Michael Page, describes a strange and growing world of fake resumes, organized applicant networks, AI-assisted interviews, and suspicious staffing firms that may be helping fraudulent actors gain access to banks and other financial institutions. We talk about the real-world signs she's seen while interviewing deceptive candidates — from people secretly receiving answers during interviews to applicants who suddenly crack under simple follow-up questions. We also explore how AI tools are making this kind of fraud much easier, why remote work creates new vulnerabilities, and how some infiltrators may be playing a very long game. Along the way, Dani shares practical insights for job seekers about how recruiters analyze applicant resumes and behavior, and tips on optimal LinkedIn strategies. Learn more about your ad choices. Movsar Evloev picked up the biggest win of his career in the main event of UFC London as he defeated Lerone Murphy, handing the latter his first MMA loss in the process. While the fight was ultra-competitive, and included a rare point deduction for Evloev, a lot of people feel the judges got it wrong — and that it should've been a draw, or a win for Murphy. Following UFC London, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Jed Meshew react to the Fight Night card, Evloev's win and the scorecards, how the commentary was during the fight, and if Evloev will get a title shot against Alexander Volkanovski after the win. In this episode of The Great Plains Archaeology Podcast, Carlton sits down with Michael Page of the Wyoming State Archaeologist's Office to explore a lesser-known side of Wyoming archaeology, its rich and varied ceramic traditions. While Wyoming is often defined by its iconic Paleoindian kill sites, Michael's work reminds us that the region's history is far more diverse than the stone tools and bison jumps that dominate public imagination. This episode highlights the vital role of ceramic research in understanding the Northwest Plains and offers a fresh perspective on Wyoming's deep human history.TranscriptsFor rough transcripts of this episode go to https://www.archaeologypodcastnetwork.com/great-plains-archaeology/33LinksThe Wyoming Pottery ProjectThe Archaeology of the North American Great Plains by Douglas B. He done did it. Khamzat Chimaev basically pitched a perfect game against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319, making it look EASY en route to one of the more lopsided decision wins you will ever witness in a championship fight. DDP showed up looking uniquely ill-equipped to stop Chimaev's all-out takedown assault. And Ya Boi Borz? He looked so dominant people got mad at him for not doing more. So, now that the long-heralded Chimaev Era is finally underway at 185 pounds ... shouldn't we be more excited? Plus, how does Michael Page keep doing this? And where are we at with Aaron Pico now? Also, what do you get when you cross one of light heavyweight's most dangerous knockout artists with the guy who routinely gets knocked out in the funniest possible way? You get UFC Fight Night: Johnny Walker vs. Zhang Mingyang. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
UFC 319 is a wrap and Khamzat Chimaev is the brand new UFC middleweight champion after delivering a one-sided, grappling-heavy performance to beat Dricus du Plessis in the main event. With Chimaev finally realizing his goal of becoming a world champion, where does the undefeated phenomenon go in his first championship defense? Is it the streaking Anthony Hernandez? Or perhaps the enigmatic Reinier de Ridder? Should the UFC Paris main event winner between Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho be anointed as the rightful No. 1 contender? On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss what's next for both Chimaev and du Plessis following their championship fight in Chicago. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Lerone Murphy after knocking Aaron Pico out cold in the co-main event, Carlos Prates following his brutal knockout of Geoff Neal, along with fellow main card winners Michael Page and Tim Elliott, and more.
