Scott Dubois joins me this week on The Parable Podcast and it was a pleasure getting to know him more.  His presence and character came across right away after we got to talking.  He has a love for community and the family in his life.  One of the way He loves us is through the people around us, it is one of the ways He shapes us. - Scott DuboisAs a child, his father abandoned him and his mom and it caused some deep wounds as he grew up and into his adulthood.  Without dealing with those wounds, pain is always going to be under the surface.  For Scott, it lead to self-medicating those hard feelings with food. Recently Scott had a fall which through a series of events started at a Chiropractor and ended up in the CATH lab with four stints. Now that Scott has a new perspective on his life he encourages us all to continue to do the internal heart work of our souls so that we can be available and expectant of what God is wanting to do in our life.Reflection QuestionsWhat are the comparison traps that you fall into these days and that you need to be more mindful of?Take a moment to have an honest heart check where you are in your relationship with God and your level of vulnerability with yourself.Connect with ScottFacebook How to support The Parable Podcast#1 Subscribe or Follow the show so you don't miss the next episode of  The Parable Podcast through your favorite podcast app (i.e. iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher).  #2 Share this show with a friend, this is a perfect opportunity to start your own Parable Conversation together.#3 Join The Parable Podcast E-mail list so you can hear some of Danielle's own Parables and encouragement.

Today I'm joined by a man who helps clients with their challenges in advertising, software design, and business process management. He describes himself as a Technologist, Speaker, Sushi Connoisseur, and a Travel Hacker. Welcome to DMR, Scott Dubois. [You can find Scott over at Pidalia.] On this episode of Digital Marketing Radio we discuss how to use customer data in digital campaign planning, with topics including: How do you use customer data in digital campaign planning? What data do you use? Are you talking about on ads, or on landing pages, or on both? Do you use customer data in all your campaigns? What type of data do you use? Do you use data from third parties as well as a customer’s own data? Do you use customer data to decide on when to run a campaign? Do you amend campaigns after they’re launched or do you tend to stick with things once they’re published? Are you a fan of being reactive or proactive with your advertising? [Tweet ""Don't try to be all things to all people." says @ScottDubois from @pidalia"] Software I couldn't live without What software do you currently use in your business that if someone took away from you, it would significantly impact your marketing success? Slack [Team communication] Bear [Note-taking app] My number 1 takeaway What's the single most important step from our discussion that our listeners need to take away and implement in their businesses? Something I learned very early-on is... don't try to be all things to all people. You're going to be a much better subject matter expert if you get very good at the space that you play in. It's not to say that you shy away from things, but just understanding your business, not trying to be all things to all people is a good takeaway that has served me well.

Tune in for some cool insights about the latest trends in advertising! Listen and react is a common pitfall business owners fall into.” -Scott Dubois Working with Giants Pidalia is not your typical digital agency. They only work with the largest companies, and act as startup with their clients. Pidalia is super agile and delivers superior technical ability. Typical Day at Work Scott’s work requires him to travel from time to time. He manages their business operations with clients, while his partner manages the engineering and creative teams. According to him, no two days are alike. He typically would start by heading to the airport, and sometimes he would start by getting organized. Having faith in what I knew and what I sensed would ultimately reward us by making the right call in the long-term.” -Scott Dubois Emails would go next in his priorities. He would then check on all relevant parties—clients or employees. It’s what life looks like in the agency. Lessons from the Past Scott co-founded Pidalia in 2011. Working with clients and understanding them are among the biggest lessons he learned. He observed that people often engage with pre-conceived notions. Instead of being lip service for that goal, actually living that goal and being conscious of the goal is going to get you pretty far.” -Scott Dubois Together, they find new ways to approach things. Trip hop goes jazz.
