This week on VOMAus Radio, Dr Yousaf Sadiq returns to continue his conversation with Todd Nettleton. After dozens of churches and Christians' homes in Jaranwala, Pakistan, were attacked, looted and burned by a mob, Christians gathered in and around the ruins of their former church buildings to sing and worship the Lord. The words they sang were directly from Scripture: Psalms of lament; reminders that even in times of suffering, we can come to the Lord and trust in His sovereignty. “I want the world to know this fascinating story and what it means for the church in Pakistan.” Yousaf says, “It's such a precious heritage.” Dr Yousaf will also share about his work to support and include the ministry of persecuted Christians in the work of the Lausanne Movement.

I Met Elijah Today on the Dusty Roads of HaifaA prophetic encounter on Israel's coast, a call to rebuild the altar, restore true worship, and prepare the way for the Lord. Are we ready for Sukkot? I hope this message blesses and prepares your heart.“Through the gate no calamity will come.Through the dwelling, no calamity will come.Through this door no division will come; through this place no strife will come.In this place, there will be peace and prosperity.”These words mirror the heart of Scripture:Psalm 91:10 — “No harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.”Psalm 24:7 — “Lift up your heads, you gates… that the King of glory may come in.”Isaiah 32:18 — “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places.”Psalm 133:1 — “How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity.”This message is more than poetry, it is a prophetic call to restore true worship and stand firm in covenant faithfulness, just as Elijah did on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18). Elijah's mission was to call a compromised nation back to Yehovah, rebuild the torn-down altar, and reveal that “The LORD, He is God!”What We Receive from Elijah's ExampleRestoration of True Worship – Return to covenant faithfulness and holiness (1 Kings 18:21, 36–39).Power and Prayer in the Spirit – Bold faith that changes nations (James 5:16–18).Spirit of Reconciliation and Preparation – Turning hearts and preparing the way for Yeshua's return (Malachi 4:5–6; Luke 1:16–17).Elijah's spirit is still at work — calling the end-time Body of Messiah to repentance, restoration, and readiness.Like the Atlit detention camp near Haifa, once a place of exile and captivity, many today feel trapped and longing for release. But Yehovah is breaking the chains, opening the gates, and calling His people home. This is a call to rise up — to restore the altar of Yehovah in our hearts and to prepare the way for the coming King. “You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” — Deuteronomy 28:6

When headlines shake us, Psalm 121 anchors us. Pastor Eric walks through this Song of Ascents to show where real help comes from—not from the hills, but from the Lord who made them. He keeps His people without sleeping, guards them day and night, and finishes the good work He starts.Scripture: Psalm 121; Ephesians 5:16; Acts 7–8; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; 1 Kings 18; Psalm 23; Isaiah 43:1–2; Romans 8:31–39; Philippians 1:6; Revelation 5Series: Songs of AscentsBottom Line: The Lord is your help and your keeper—today and forever.
Scripture: Psalm 1 Key Takeaways: Matthew 7:13-14 Psalm 1 + 2 Paths, 2 Products, 2 Prospects + Blessings FROM God are secondary to the blessing OF God himself John 5:39-40 Ecclesiastes 8:14 Psalm 92:5-9
Psalm 120 opens the Songs of Ascents—a playlist for God's people on their journey to Jerusalem. This first song doesn't begin with joy but with honesty: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me.”In this message, Pastor Eric Kuykendall reminds us:Calling out to God in distress is biblical.Expecting God to hear and answer is biblical.Lies and hostility surround us, but God's truth and peace remain. As we walk through the Songs of Ascents together, Psalm 120 sets the tone: worship isn't about pretending everything is fine—it's about bringing our real selves before God and trusting Him.
Today, we journey through two of the most hope-filled passages in Scripture—Psalm 23 and Isaiah 35. Psalm 23 reminds us that the Lord is our Shepherd, guiding us through green pastures, still waters, and even the darkest valleys. Isaiah 35 paints a breathtaking picture of restoration—a desert bursting into bloom, the weak made strong, and a highway of holiness leading God's people home. Together, these chapters declare a God who not only walks with us in the valleys but also promises to lead us into everlasting joy. Let's dive into the Shepherd's care and the highway of hopeAs always be blessed and enjoy. Please follow, like, and share our podcast with a friend or family member!
The context of Psalm 2 is that the king has been installed in Jerusalem, but all the foreign kings are hostile and conspiring against this king. If you read it carefully, you'll see that no earthly king can completely justify the fury of the threats, and no earthly king can completely justify the glory of the promises given. The language of the psalm, you might say, spills out over its banks. Psalm 2 is one of the messianic psalms. In verse 2, it says, “The kings of the earth take their stand […] against the Lord and against his Anointed One.” Do you know what the word Anointed One is in Hebrew? It means Messiah. This psalm is talking about the greater King. And it actually tells us three things: 1) we have a true King, 2) human beings hate the King, and 3) we need the King. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on December 12, 1993. Series: Understanding Jesus. Scripture: Psalm 2. In Psalm 69, we have the prayer diary of Jesus and an expression of his anguish and his sufferings for us. This psalm, of course, is written by David, and it's about King David and his immediate problems. But it actually doesn't refer only to David—it also refers to a greater king than David and a far greater suffering. In John 15, Jesus tells his disciples that this psalm is talking about him. From this psalm, we can learn three things about what Jesus came to do: 1) he came to be a servant, 2) he came to be hated, and 3) he came to be exchanged. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on December 5, 1993. Series: Understanding Jesus. Scripture: Psalm 69. The Waiting Well - Infertility, Faith-based Encouragement, Trying to Conceive, Fertility
In this 20-minute episode, Courtney walks listeners through four common TTC tensions—creating embryos (IVF), genetic screening/selection, donor eggs/sperm & surrogacy, and data-driven tracking—without handing out black-and-white verdicts. Instead, she anchors each topic in Scripture (Psalm 139; Job 31:15; Jeremiah 1:5; Proverbs 16:9; Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:31–32; Proverbs 3:5–6; Philippians 4:6–7) and offers heart-level reflection prompts to help couples discern before God. You'll pause to journal, check your motives around control vs. stewardship, and hear a testimony of finding peace when science becomes a gift—not a god. To become a mature society in which we're able to talk about faith, we also have to be able to talk about doubt. We don't get much help here from either religious people or secular people. Religious people tend to see doubt as a bad thing. And secular people tend to think perennial doubt is the only sophisticated position. However, what the Bible says about doubt is unique, nuanced, and multidimensional. The Bible sees doubt as something that's not all good and not all bad. Only when you begin to see it in a nuanced way can it be something through which we make progress. Let's look at doubt in this famous psalm of Asaph: 1) what is it? 2) what causes it? and 3) what transforms it? This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on October 13, 2013. Series: A Public Faith. Scripture: Psalm 73:1-3, 12-26.
