Jimmy Coleman started in the action sports world as a commentator in 1993. Since then, he has travelled the globe with the biggest events and best athletes on the planet, including the Winter and Summer X Games for the past 21 years, which has given him an incredible front row seat to some of the gnarliest moments in skate, BMX, FMX and snow history. If you have watched any of these sports and moments over the past 28 years, there is a good chance that Jimmy's voice stamp is on it. In 2016 he became one of the hosts for Nitro World Games, which is where the friendship between Jimmy and Browny formed. Like many in the live sports and entertainment industry, Jimmy's world was rocked by the Covid shut down of our industry. Jimmy put this time to good use though, not only starting his own baking business (this is not a joke), but dealing with some mental demons, which he had never properly dealt with. Jimmy was old school. Jimmy is now new school, and is going to be a leader in the action sports industry, when it comes to giving a voice to the mental health battles of many. His is a message of hope that there is better times out there, and that what is broken, can be fixed. Plenty of laughs, a few tears, but an all round great message from Jimmy, that Skip This is honored to share.

Raised in Long Beach, California. My parents were both small business owners and highly influenced me as I watched their unique styles and competitive drive. In 1999 I joined the family business with no intention of staying rather helping finalize a much-needed marketing overhaul. In the process, I got addicted to the idea that I could make an event better by bringing vision, design, style, simplifying the planning process and delivering a one-stop experience. In 2007 I bought a small rental company in the South Bay and changed the name to Choura Events.A new vision was casted that promoted creativity v.s order taking and a new team was developed that was fired up to take on the old guard of a boring event industry.10 years later, we have built up an incredible inventory of tenting, furniture, table top and staging by acquiring new companies such as Bixby Knolls Party Rentals, Hollywood Tent Works and Classic TentsChoura Events has gone back-to-back as a Top 30 Rental Company in the Nation by Special Events Magazine and a Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Company by the Los Angeles Business Journal. I’m so thankful for those who have taken a risk with us including the Golden Globes, Tesla, USGA, Summer X Games, ESPYS, Pebble Beach, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.Building a vision/business comes with high highs and low lows. I’ve always approached the journey openly and enjoy talking to next-gen entrepreneurs, leaders, and just those who are willing to work hard to achieve their dreams. If you have an interest in connecting email me @ rchoura@chouraevents.com
Guest: Erin Coscarelli IG: @erincoscarelli Host: Brandon Johnson IG: @rbrandonjohnson About: On the show today I welcome Erin Coscarelli. As a TV host and sports broadcaster, Erin has had the good fortune of interviewing some of the greatest athletes of our time and covering some of the most coveted sports events in history, including the last 5 Super Bowls for the NFL Network. Prior to the NFL, Erin worked as an anchor and reporter for NBC Sports in the Bay Area covering all the San Fran Pro Teams. Additionally, she’s worked as a sideline reporter for college football with Fox Sports, the Pac 12 Network, the Summer X-Games and the World Series of Poker for ESPN. But what I’m really curious about is how does she find her voice in the midst of an intense male-sporting culture? Has the treatment of women in these environments improved or has the “me-too” movement been muted? What are some of the challenges and hurdles she’s faced to overcome adversity? We’ll tackle all that and so much more as we go “Live with Erin Coscarelli”
We all sat down over the weekend to chat about taking over the crown from Cheslie Kryst, how they make full time careers modeling and even how they handle their family dynamic. Both were Jovani it girls and cover girls for the Jovani Prom and Red Carpet Line catalog. Younger Sister Courtney was in the music video “One Number Away” for Country Music Singer Luke Combs and older sis Laura was the 2017 Sideline Attraction cheerleader for All pro cheer magazine. These were also both NBA dancers. Dancing for the Charlotte Hornets Honeybees for a combined 5 years. And lastly, if you follow either of them on social media, you’ll know that both have been Monster Energy Girls for the past 2 ½ years making appearances in Victory Lane for all of the biggest Nascar Races, the Winter and Summer X-Games and Supercross. Some great laughs and advice from the Little sisters on todays episode.
Presented by 6D Helmets GEICO Honda's Hunter Lawrence returns as a co-host on today's 6d Helmets Kickstart Podcast. Sadly, Hunter has been on the injured reserve list for a few weeks now after breaking his collarbone in a practice crash when his engine let go on the face of a jump. Lawrence had just won his first couple AMA motos and was looking for his first overall win, but that will have to wait until next year. With a break in the Lucas Oil MX Nationals, our attentions were directed towards the AMA Amateur Nationals at Loretta Lynn's, as well as the Summer X Games in Minneapolis. Lawrence's younger brother Jett rides for the AMSOIL Honda squad and turned in plenty of impressive results, and was only held back from the A class championship by an engine failure in the final moto. We talked all about this and plenty more. Thanks to Hunter for coming back on the show!

This week’s conversation is with Vicki Golden, a professional freestyle motocross rider and four-time X Games gold medalist.Vicki is the first female member of the SoCal freestyle motocross team Metal Mulisha and also performs in Travis Pastrana's Nitro Circus Tour.In 2008, at age 16, she became the Loretta Lynn's AMA Women's Amateur Champion.Three years later, she earned her first gold medal at the Women's Moto X Racing in the Summer X Games and collected her second and third gold medals in 2012.In addition to becoming the first female competitor in a Moto X freestyle competition, (which resulted in a bronze medal win in the best whip category in 2012), Vicki was nominated for the ESPY's Best Female Action Sports Athlete award in 2014.In March of this year, Vicki laid it down again in Auckland, New Zealand when she landed her first ever FMX backflip off the 15-foot Next Level ramp, ranking her as the only woman who has flipped one of the largest FMX ramps in the world.I had the fortune of speaking with Vicki only a few days before she performed a record-breaking stunt on HISTORY's Evel Live 2 where she sped through a series of flaming wooden boards. She was the first female to break the record which was set back in 2006.You’ll get a chance to hear how Vicki prepared for this stunt and what was going through her mind in the days leading up to it.I’ve always had a deep appreciation for those who perform in the world of extreme sports, pushing at the edges of their capacity, where there are real consequences when things go wrong. We touch on that in this conversation as well.--------------Please support our partners! We're able to keep growing and creating content for YOU because of their support. Jamie Little joined FOX NASCAR in 2015 for its fifteenth season and brought thirteen years of broadcasting experience and a lifetime of racing knowledge to her pit reporting duties in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series and NASCAR Xfinity series. Prior to joining FOX, Little spent thirteen years at ESPN/ABC as a reporter for NASCAR, IndyCar Series, Winter X Games, and Summer X Games telecasts. She was the first female pit reporter for the TV broadcast of the prestigious Indianapolis 500 in 2004 and the first female to cover televised supercross and motorcross events; she was also one of the first female reporters in X Games history. She is the author of Essential Car Care for Women, and she has worked the red carpet for the ESPYs in addition to hosting numerous NASCAR events away from the track. The popular racing video game “MX World Tour Featuring Jamie Little” bears her name and likeness. She also held a cameo role in the 2005 feature film Fantastic Four and Supercross the Movie starring Channing Tatum. Jamie and I talk about her ascension in the male dominated field of motor sports reporting, forgiveness, her complicated relationship with her father, and the reality of #momguilt.
