The lights go out at McKinley High, but much comes to light.Jenna & Kevin are not mincing words - they think one of the cringiest, worst moments of the entire show happens in this episode. Kevin shares how he felt saying certain lines and tried to protest it, but ultimately, he had no say in changing it. On a more light-hearted note ... the return of a glowing SJP, Sue Sylvester's brilliant singing, and fun numbers, like "Longest Time," where everyone was being silly, especially Melissa Benoist, who had Kevin in stitches the entire time.Plus, fun memories of the cast going to see Jane Lynch make her Broadway debut in "Annie" and the unintentional chaos they caused with their arrival! Don't wait until 'Tomorrow' to listen to this one!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Join Sarah and DJ Panic as they humorously recount their recent experiences with PTO and the unexpected joy found in simply staying home and rejuvenating. I am fortunate enough to occasionally have labels or artists connect with me about new music they have coming out. Sometimes those discussions result in a guest mix. Which brings us to this latest mix. Daniel Field, owner/founder of Imaginary North, reached out about some new music coming out on his excellent ambient label. He has a new album out under his Kilometre Club moniker so we figured it would be a great time for a guest mix. Here's what Daniel has to say about this collection: "I am so excited to share my new triple album, An Alphabet of Distance, and wanted to create a mix that reflects the idea of closeness. As a result, I looked to music being made in and around my hometown Toronto, thinking about some of our growing ambient community, as well as reflecting on the past. While putting this together, I quickly began to notice themes and trends that have permeated local ambient, electronic, and experimental music from this vast and vibrant city. More than anything, the vast array of instruments used across this mix feels like a connect-the-dots of the diverse, complex, and cosmopolitan nature of the city. In 100 minutes, on top of the usual guitars and synthesizers, you'll hear harp, bass clarinet, saxophone, kulintang gongs, kalimbas, horns, a bridge, and so many more components that come together beautifully. The title of the mix is named after Toronto's most annoying and traffic-filled major thoroughfare, one that has recently undergone partial demolition and multiple lane closures, but is still such a pivotal artery of the city. An Alphabet of Distance is out now as a digital download or double CD from Imaginary North." Here's the link to the new Kilometre Club album: https://imaginarynorth.bandcamp.com/album/an-alphabet-of-distance Imaginary North Bandcamp page: https://imaginarynorth.bandcamp.com/ Here are links to all the music used in this mix: https://imaginarynorth.bandcamp.com/album/nostalgia https://shnshn.bandcamp.com/album/form-s https://gracescheele.bandcamp.com/album/landings https://josephshabason.bandcamp.com/album/anne https://piersoolvai.bandcamp.com/album/solace-shards https://domakesaythink.bandcamp.com/album/you-youre-a-history-in-rust https://imaginarynorth.bandcamp.com/album/other-rooms-mainstream-x-imaginary-north https://imaginarynorth.bandcamp.com/album/imaginary-north-transmission-004 https://imaginarynorth.bandcamp.com/album/outside-choices https://brokensocialscene.bandcamp.com/album/you-forgot-it-in-people https://pantayo.bandcamp.com/album/ang-pagdaloy https://avantlard.bandcamp.com/album/sleepwalking-through-lambton-woods https://fanwu.bandcamp.com/album/touch-the-ten-thousand-things-without-dependency https://aidanbaker.bandcamp.com/album/field-of-drones https://oscarson.bandcamp.com/album/anth-ne-held https://dreamstate.bandcamp.com/album/the-drone-cycle https://polmopolpo.bandcamp.com/album/like-hearts-swelling https://imaginarynorth.bandcamp.com/album/the-longest-time Thanks to Daniel & Imaginary North for this excellent mix. "The receptionist at the doctor's office gives you a sheaf of papers to fill out. As the air-conditioning repairman leaves, he hands you a contract. In a spa's waiting room, you're asked to sign an agreement before your Swedish massage. All this may be presented as routine paperwork — no big deal. But the consequences of filling out forms and signing your name could be very big indeed. You might be weakening your privacy, giving up legal rights or agreeing to prices and charges you never dreamed you'd have to pay. So what should you do before taking pen in hand? When can you decline to sign?" (AARP). Join us this week as we discuss things you might not know you needed to know about signing your name on the dotted line, including what it means and what it doesn't mean depending on the words preceding it. I wanted to cover You Don't Know Jack for THE LONGEST TIME but game shows I suppose was taking up time, and because that podcast is coming to an end soon (recording ALLLLL the episodes in advance) I decided to upload for the Patreon - the episode all about one of my favorite video game franchises. I figure I'll never really get around to this in Fun Time Calls or Game Shows I Suppose (If I do a proper "YOU DON'T KNOW JACK" episode - it'll probably be up here because there better be DEMAND for that kind of episode. I didn't go through EVERY question type (there were many I forgot about) but I went through without looking at a wiki page (even the JACKBOX PARTY PACKS) So that's that. Anyway, I don't want to say "Jordan For YDKJ Host" because that ultimately means Daniel Tosh or Seth Rogan will take it instead.
Billy Joel: The Video Album Volume II is another back and forth across Billy's discography. The ten selections here vary from promo reels shot in the 1970s, unvarnished black-and-white live footage and barebones soundstage performances in the early 80s, to full-blown stylized and choreographed productions from the peak of the MTV era. Once again, we're treated to a revue of how music videos progressed as an art form as MTV changed the way people consumed music and viewed the people who made it. Billy fans in particular can enjoy up-close-and-personal live footage of songs like “Los Angelenos” and “Everybody Loves You Now,” shot in a small club. And the cuts from Glass Houses also feature the band as they'd perform on stage or in rehearsal. These vignettes sit alongside the entry for “Uptown Girl,” arguably his most well-known video, along with other highly-dramatized productions for songs like “Allentown” and “The Longest Time.” Join us as we dig deep into BIlly Joel: The Video Album Volume II. ------ Email us: glasshousespodcast@gmail.com Glass Houses - A Billy Joel Podcast on the web / social media: Website: http://www.glasshousespod.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glasshousespodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glasshousespod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/glasshousespod Discord: https://discord.gg/6G6cMRFu7T Support the podcast: Paypal: https://paypal.me/glasshousespod Venmo: @MGrosvenor Produced by Michael Grosvenor & Jack Firneno for Groove Music Marketing

Dem Vinyl Boyz are dropping the needle this week from the Franklin Social House taking their vinyl on the road for all to hear. 'Billy Joel's Greatest Hits' was released in 1987 which includes the artist's work from 1973 to 1985 and contains some of his most renowned records such as “Piano Man”, “Uptown Girl”', and “The Longest Time”. The album is certified double diamond and has sold over 23 million units tying Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' for the sixth most certified album of all time in the United States. The album kicks off with "Piano Man," the first disc runs through a good chunk of his early work before arriving at his golden age of the late '70s; some of these songs, including "Captain Jack" and "New York State of Mind," weren't strictly hits, but were popular within his stage show and became radio hits. Over the next disc and a half, there's so many hits, it's inevitable that some are left off such as "Honesty" and "Sometimes a Fantasy" but still includes "Just the Way You Are," "Only the Good Die Young," "My Life," "You May Be Right," "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me," "Don't Ask Me Why," "Allentown," "Tell Her About It" and "Uptown Girl," among many others are present and accounted for. In short, Greatest Hits, Vols. 1 & 2 encapsulates exactly why Billy Joel was one of the most popular singer/songwriters of the late '70s and early '80s and is still described as a legendary artist today. Today we discuss the hit acapella song, The Longest Time. No, you heard correctly -- the HIT acapella song. It's a true miracle that Billy Joel was able to write a modern acapella song that was not only a smash when it came out in March of 1984 but was covered hundreds of times during Covid in 2020.
