Martha O’Neill’s wry, often edgy comedy is at odds with her laid-back, likeable stage presence; a combination which has made her an audience favourite wherever she performs. This Toronto native spent the first 10 years of her comedy career performing improv and sketch, but shifted her focus to stand-up 16 years ago and hasn’t looked back since. She performs regularly at the Absolute Comedy chain of clubs, at corporate/private events and has performed all over Canada, and as far away as Dublin and London. In this episode Ben and Tyler talk about some recent controversies that Ben has been going through. One being the Freedom of Comedy Protest show which has gotten a lot of attention of the Toronto and Canadian Stand up Comedy scenes. Some love the sentiment, some hate it. Ben also got his phone slapped by an LCBO employee just a few days after having SJW, anti-comedy protesters come to the protest. It's been a wild week.. Enjoy the ride. Tyler has worked with comedians like Andrew Schulz, Doug Stanhope, Tim Dillon, Shane Gillis and many more. Tyler Morrison is a Canadian stand up comedian that some could say is "controversial". Recorded Wednesday, June 17th after second show and right before the third Comedy Protest. Ben has some motivational thoughts, some funny opinions in this short and sweet podcast episode. A great listen!
Recorded on Wednesday, June 10th. Ben had finished producing the first Comedy in a Park show and was gearing up for round two. This was recorded before receiving multiple fines for performing in a park during Covid. Hence why the next show will be a protest! Ben shares some of his views, which can be controversial. Towing the line is hard, especially during these times, but our Freedom to Express is essential. However, only unemployed people have true "Freedom of Speech"
Two days before Ben put on his first live comedy show during Covid at Christie Pits he recorded this podcast. The first half is solo and the second half Ben speaks with an old friend, Tex Eknes. Tex and Ben used to perform comedy together at places like Vape on the Lake in Etobicoke, Vapour Central and more. Definitely something in here to laugh at or get upset about!
Filmed the day after the Toronto "riots", Ben gives some honest opinions and thoughts on what is happening, although, as a white man what right does he have to do that? Ben points out the government's hypocritical stance on gatherings and Covid-19. Ben also dives into a Facebook Post he commented on in the Toronto Stand-Up Community page as well as an online run in with Jamie Amanda Lee. It was a bit like throwing a lit match into a target filled with kerosene.
Filmed on Saturday, May 23rd, or 9.11 for Karens.. That's right, the day that everyone gathered at Trinity Bellwoods to spread the fake disease I was at home social distancing and recording the show. I have some hot takes in this one. A great listen if you are feeling down and unmotivated due to the Quarantine. Stay safe and keep supporting our show! @torontocomedypodcast on Instagram! Aaron Berg is one of the funniest comics working right now. Aaron is from Toronto and lives and performs in New York City. Due to Covid he has retreated to Delaware, the home state of Joe Biden. Aaron just released his comedy book reading as an album called American Etiquette, his own documentary 25 Sets available on iTunes and Amazon and just appeared on Andrew Schultz's podcast as well as the Real Ass Podcast with Louis J. Gomez and the Legion of Skanks with Big Jay Oakerson. Aaron Berg has his own daily show called "In Hot Water" on the Gas Digital Network and his Patreon podcast "Gum Friday's", both with co-host Gino Bisconte. Lucky to have him on the show and be his friend!
Filmed April 11th, Ben was 2 days into his new side hustle for Dial A Bottle. Without really looking into the tax implications or time that will have to be sacrificed, Ben jumps head first into delivering booze and looking for his first hired driver. Lots of explanation of plans for the show and future.
Since the Quarantine began Ben was worried that he would kill himself out of boredom. So he started applying for random delivery jobs. He bought into a Dialabottle Franchise in downtown Toronto and this episode is from his first day working.
Episode 34 is here. We are deep in the Quarantine. Ben goes live with one of his fans to discuss the current state of affairs and has his friend who works in corporate from home on. Some great commentary in this one and great jokes.
In this episode Ben talks about the expectations that people are putting on themselves during the pandemic. I'm going to lose weight! I'm going to become a better person! Relax, we're all going to die.

Milestone! While at home with nothing to do, no comedy to perform at, no friends to hang out with and definitely to girls to hangout with Ben has reached a milestone. 30 Podcast episodes! The idea for the Toronto Comedy Podcast all started over a year ago. It started in late 2018 with a few interviews at my apartment downtown, before I moved home with my mom. I ended up not releasing those episodes. Then I had started the podcast back up with a girl I was seeing (bad idea). We recorded like 4 episodes and then I ended up never releasing any of them. I even paid to record them! It was whack. Then I just bought my own mics and started talking into them. Started doing my own little 30 minutes and then 45 and then an hour. Then asking guests on and interviewing them. And look at us now! Ranting about the end of the world. Looking forward to recording many more Toronto Comedy Podcast Episodes, but for now, here is Quarantined Episode 9! @torontocomedypodcast

Toronto Comedy warlord, Bryan O'Gorman hosts a half hour of hilarious Counter Culture Canadiana. This show is our country's only attempt at making comedy for anyone other than illiterate rural hockey fans or Vancouver yoga moms. Canada is a country full of differing opinions and allegiances that we can totally make fun of while death slowly closes in on us all, let's celebrate that! Canada is more than maple syrup, hockey and french chicks with bad breath. G & Free seeks to destroy the lame, played out Canadian stereo types and delves into the darker side of the true North. From interviews with activists, comedians and lawyers to sketches about 'Drive thru botox' and 'fucked up parts of our heritage,' Glorious and Free is the shiny studded vibrator aimed right at the tight, virgin assHOLE that is Canadian comedy. No moose jokes, no flannel, just raw, uncensored fuckyouery from an unapologetically (and pretty lit) Canadian perspective. We're not Bob or Doug or Terry or Randy or Dean McHoserCanoe. We are Glorious and Free and we are the Resistance to the scurge of government funded comedy/propaganda...and also poutine jokes. Deal with real. Fun or Death. -B*O'G 4*1'6

Rebecca Reeds started her comedy career in Ottawa, performing at open mics and eventually being part of an Ottawa Fringe Festival show. She's since made the move to Toronto, where there are not only far more opportunities for her to get stage time and hone her craft, but where she can perform alongside touring comics who regularly hit up the city (such as a recent opening spot for Matt Braunger at Toronto's Comedy Bar). Reeds has previously performed at the SheDot Festival and JFL 42 -- as well as made appearances on CBC Radio and SiriusXM -- but she's appearing at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival for the first time this year. Paul Little chatted with her about the early part of her career in Ottawa, the difficulties of moving to a much bigger comedy city like Toronto, her growth as a comic over the last couple years, and what she expects from her first big TV gala experience.
