Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles! Drake and Dave dive head first into Spring Practice talk, discussing their biggest wants for the team this spring. First, they both choose the offensive side of the ball, with Dave excited to see another dimension added to the offense via a revamped tight end room featuring heralded transfers Jaheim Bell from South Carolina and Kyle Morlock from Shorter University, while Drake can't wait to see the highly-touted former All Big-12 transfer receiver Winston Wright take his first snaps in a Seminole uniform after missing the 2022 campaign due to injury. Will the 2023 offense look like the greatest show on turf with these additions? Next, they both head to the defensive side of the ball, with Dave eager to see who steps up to replace the production and leadership of star safety Jammie Robinson (all eyes are on Akeem Dent), while Drake has his attention cued to the cornerback room, where Patrick Surtain was brought it to better coach up an inconstant unit loaded to the brim with talent and potential. Finally, they discuss their biggest luxury wants from spring, with Drake hoping to see Caziah Holmes step up into the evidently up-for-grabs RB2 spot following Treshaun Ward's transfer (and as a bonus, Drake is expecting an even better interior DL), while Dave wants to see a defensive end blossom opposite Jared Verse to form a more well-rounded, multi-faceted pass rush and run defense. Then, the guys discuss the apparent success of the Seminoles' Junior Day, attended by countless blue chip targets, and the importance of replacing what should be a ton of departing talent and production from the 2023 Florida State roster. Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast! Drake and Dave relish in Florida State's utter domination of a hapless and embarrassing Miami football team, and highlight the equally impressive play of the defense and the offense, as the Seminoles tie the largest margin of victory EVER in a road game in this rivalry, winning 45-3. First, Drake and Dave take a victory lap, explaining just how bad that Miami team is (and how much worse they've gotten) under $8 million head coach Mario Cristobal, as the Hurricanes not only didn't belong on the same field as Florida State, but moreover they acted like they didn't even want or care to be there. Contrast that to a Seminoles squad that understood the importance of the rivalry and making a statement therein, as all phases of FSU (including backups) kept their foot on Miami's throat for 4 full quarters. Next, the guys gush over the play of the Florida State defense, with too many incredible individual and team efforts to list off in 30 minutes, including Jammie Robinson's disrespectful TFL (the highlight of which will live on forever in this rivalry), Fabien Lovett's uplifting presence for the defensive line and the defense as a whole, Tatum Bethune's homecoming statement, Jared Verse thanking Miami for only adding to his soon-to-be NFL paycheck, youngsters such as Patrick Payton and AZ Thomas showing out, and plenty more. Finally, they highlight the play of the offense, starting with a monstrous, Dalvin Cook-like performance in which he refused to be tackled by Miami's indifferent and undisciplined defenders, as well as an impressive performance by Jordan Travis (who wasn't asked and didn't have to do much in this one), incredible catches by Pokie Wilson and Johnny Wilson, and last but certainly not least a statement game from Florida State's offensive line giving JT13 all the time he needed and opening up running lanes for the Seminoles' stable of running backs (which didn't even need Treshaun Ward in this one). Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles! First, the guys react to the news that WR/RB Ja'Khi Douglas is on the verge of returning from injury that's kept him out for the first half of this season, and what his return (and inevitable, elite wheel routes) could mean for an offense that will miss Treshaun Ward following his injury against NC State. Next, they preview the top-5 Clemson Tigers, and how Florida State stacks up against them, beginning with the FSU offense against the Clemson defense (elite as always), and then flipping to the Clemson offense (led by a resurgent campaign from DJU) against the FSU defense. Finally, they offer keys to the game if the ‘Noles are to pull off the upset and defeat the Tigers for the first time since 2014. Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles! Drake and Dave discuss injury news (finally, positive news!) and preview the Seminoles' third-straight ranked matchup, this time against the top-5 Clemson Tigers.First, the guys react to the news that WR/RB Ja'Khi Douglas is on the verge of returning from injury that's kept him out for the first half of this season, and what his return (and inevitable, elite wheel routes) could mean for an offense that will miss Treshaun Ward following his injury against NC State.Next, they preview the top-5 Clemson Tigers, and how Florida State stacks up against them, beginning with the FSU offense against the Clemson defense (elite as always), and then flipping to the Clemson offense (led by a resurgent campaign from DJU) against the FSU defense. Finally, they offer keys to the game if the ‘Noles are to pull off the upset and defeat the Tigers for the first time since 2014.As always, thanks for making Locked on Seminoles your first listen each and every day. Should FSU Football Rush Treshaun Ward Back? Robert Cooper & Ja'Khi Douglas Return - Clemson Healthy Florida State Seminoles Fans got a mixed injury report from Head Coach Mike Norvell on Monday. Footage emerged from practice of Coach Norvell and DL Robert Cooper racing to start practice, implying that Cooper will likely play on Saturday against the Clemson Tigers.    Coach Mike Norvell also confirmed that Athlete Ja'Khi Douglas will be available for the first time this season on Saturday. Unfortunately, the prognosis of injured running back Treshaun Ward is less clear. Norvell said that Ward underwent some kind of diagnostic and got positive feedback. However, he did not say if Ward would be able to return for this weekend's game in Doak Campbell Stadium.   When further analyzing the injuries, Max raises the question of if the staff should try to rush Treshaun back into the lineup. Clemson is likely to be very stout against the run making running success unlikely and Trey Benson and Lawrence Toafili have looked capable so far this season. However, Treshaun may be the team's best chance to have any kind of running game at all. There are a lot of factors involved in the decision.  We are fortunate to have the support of Charlie Park and Madison Social. Mike Norvell's Florida State Football has a chance to be 4-0 for the first time since 2015 when they play Boston College in Doak Campbell Stadium. Regardless of the QB situation, FSU should be able to beat the Boston College Eagles due to BC's lack of offensive capabilities and the Seminoles' potent rushing attack led by running backs Treshaun Ward, Trey Benson, and Lawrence Toafili. Max dives into the match up between the Boston College Eagles and the Florida State Seminoles. He shares his findings and celebrates the vindication he has gotten from Phil Jurkovec's lack of production this season, especially when throwing to anyone but Zay Flowers. Thank you for all that you do. We love getting to bring you this short-form coverage of the Florida State Football team and its only possible with your continued support! Florida State Seminoles football earned its first season-opening win since 2016 on Saturday, taking down the Duquesne Dukes 47-7 inside Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee. It was a fantastic showing by the running back room, with the Seminoles setting a school record by having three players (Treshaun Ward, Trey Benson and Lawrance Toafili) record at least 100 rushing yards. All six of the Seminoles touchdowns came on the ground, with quarterback Jordan Travis and true freshman Rodney Hill also ending the end zone. With no turnovers forced and just one sack, there weren't any “wow” plays from the defense, but statistically FSU got the job done, only allowing a score following a 50-yard interception return off an errant Tate Rodemaker throw. So what takeaways are there from the 40-point win? Immediately after the game wrapped up, we hit a live stream to offer instant reaction and analysis from the Seminoles' season debut. Sticking with those positions, the guys offer a preview of the RB corps in a post-Jashaun Corbin world as the offense looks to Trey Benson, Treshaun Ward and Lawrance Toafili to pick up where they left off from last season.Lastly, the duo discusses the newly-stocked WR group, as Johnny Wilson as emerged as the #1 red zone option in camp, Mycah Pittman has emerged as your do it all go from the slot and mainstay Malik McClain finally making a push after a lackluster spring. as well as their goals, expectations, and projected starters at both positions. As always, thanks for making Locked on Seminoles your first listen each and every day. TALLAHASSEE, FL- The Florida State Seminoles are starting fall camp with just one month until the season begins at home and they still have a lot to figure out along the offensive roster. At quarterback, Jordan Travis is the guy for Mike Norvell and his staff, and for the first time, he is the unquestioned starter. He has taken that confidence that he has developed from last season and will look to carry that into the fall. With the running backs, the ‘Noles have a potential new lead back with Trey Benson supported by Treshaun Ward similar to how Ward supported Jashaun Corbin last year. Also, how will Toafili fit in along with the rest of the room? On the perimeter, this team has looked to the transfer portal to add guys like Mycah Pittman, Winston Wright, and Johnny Wilson along with players who have been in house like Malik McClain, Ontaria Wilson, and others that will make big contributions. This regime has struggled to produce at the wide receiver position but with Jordan Travis getting better every year he should be able to support them even better. Along the offensive line, the team brings back four of five starting players along with four potential contributors coming from the transfer portal. The team should be in a better place and be able to deal with anything that happens in season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Florida State Seminoles' running back DJ Williams has officially entered the transfer portal. Originally a transfer from Auburn, DJ Williams was seen as a potential upgrade at the power back position when La'Damian Webb left FSU two years ago. The guys often talked about Williams' potential if he could stay healthy and had strong expectations for him. However, Max and Drake are not concerned by the early end to his FSU career. They believe that this is a positive indicator for the running back room. The duo posits that other running backs Treshaun Ward, Lawrence Toafili, and Trey Benson playing better than expected could be the catalyst for DJ's decision to enter the transfer portal. As always, thank you for the love and support. We get to do what we love because you keep coming back. We appreciate you and hope to see you next week for more Locked On Seminoles! The Florida State Seminoles played their spring game and practiced in 15 open practices, our staff gathered what they saw and put together a depth chart based on their observations, you can read that original article here on Tomahawk Nation. Initially looking at the QB position Jordan Travis is the no-doubt starter for the Garnet and Gold unlike last year and he has really taken command of the QB1 role, especially as a leader. Competing for the backup spot are true freshman AJ Duffy and redshirt sophomore Tate Rodemaker. While Duffy is the more talented player he is still learning the offense and getting acclimated to being a college athlete so they leaned on Rodemaker's experience at practice, but how much longer will that continue? In the running back room, the ‘Noles have been able to replace their lead back Jashaun Corbin with Trey Benson a transfer from Oregon. He showed out in the spring game and proved he deserves starter reps. But we also know that Mike Norvell does not just involve one back in his week-to-week game plan and Treshaun Ward will be in that similar support role that he played so well last year. In the wide receiver room, the FSU staff has been able to bring in new players like Mycah Pittman and Johnny Wilson. Pittman will be in line to get the main target share as well as second-year receiver Malik McClain. Going forward they will need more help the team has some in-house players that will get the opportunity to prove themselves as well like Ja'Khi Douglas, Ontaria Wilson and Josh Burrell. For two years in a row, the Florida State Seminoles have upset the North Carolina Tar Heels in football. North Carolina raced out to a 10-0 lead but quickly lost hold of the initiative. From that point on they never felt like they got their feet back under them. FSU played measured, ball control football, and widdled UNC down for the rest of the game. Much of FSU's offensive production came off of a career day for quarterback Jordan Travis. He stayed patient in the passing game and took the reigns of the leader of the running game. The threat of his legs opened things up for FSU's talented stable of running backs. Jashaun Corbin and Treshaun Ward received the carries that many fans had been clamoring for and took full advantage of them. Defensively FSU seems to be getting better on a game-by-game basis. Coverage was tight throughout the game and the defensive front is continuing to prove to be one of the better fronts in the conference. They let UNC quarterback Sam Howell run for over 100 yards but ultimately Howell was unable to beat the Seminoles using his feet. There was a lot of good in this game but even coaches can't see everything on a single watch. So join the guys at the Triple Option as they rewatch one of the most complete games FSU has played in years. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tomahawknation/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/tomahawknation/support

The Florida State Seminoles defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels by a score of 35-25. The ‘Noles played one of the cleanest games of the season and looked like the more cohesive group throughout the game. They found a lot of their success on the ground. Quarterback Jordan Travis led the charge with 121 rushing yards on his own but runningbacks Jashaun Corbin and Treshaun Ward combined for another 129. On defense FSU held North Carolina's talented quarterback Sam Howell in check for a majority of the game. UNC was forced to find success on the ground and ultimately couldn't sustain their drives because of it. This game was a big potential stepping stone for this Florida State team. It was the most complete game they have played in Norvell's tenure and may give some confidence to the team moving forward. There was a lot to like and a lot to keep in mind for this game. Here to give their instant thoughts on tonight's performance are Kevin Little and Adam Brown. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tomahawknation/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/tomahawknation/support

There may not be a position on the field that Florida State head coach Mike Norvell has seen more success with than running backs. There is a lot of variety to the way that he uses the running backs (or tailbacks) and many different faces that he can interchange in those roles. If you have trouble keeping up with the names or just need a refresher for FSU's upcoming season, join the guys at the Triple Option as they discuss the depth chart and show some film highlighting what you might expect from this position group.
