In this episode of The Happier Life Project, we explore the powerful connection between climate and mental health, examining how the climate crisis impacts our emotional well-being and the vital role a healthy planet plays in maintaining our mental health. Terms like ‘eco-anxiety,' ‘environmental doom,' ‘ecological grief,' and ‘eco-guilt' capture the psychological toll that environmental degradation and climate change are having on individuals and communities worldwide. This is why caring for the climate is so deeply intertwined with caring for our own mental health and the well-being of our communities. Dr Emma Lawrance leads the Climate Cares Centre, where she collaborates with diverse experts to explore the connections between climate change and mental health, including through the Connecting Climate Minds global initiative. As the Mental Health Innovations Fellow at the Institute of Global Health Innovation, Emma directs the mental health strategy, focusing on digital mental health support and the Climate Cares program. With degrees in physics, chemistry, science communications, and neuroscience, Emma is passionate about the outdoors, especially in her native Adelaide Hills. This conversation emphasizes the urgent need to protect our planet - not just for its sake, but for the essential role it plays in protecting our well-being. Dr Emma joins host Gabby to explore the emotional challenges of navigating a changing world. Together, they discuss how we can better educate ourselves and offer compassion to those affected. Tune in to discover the deep connection between a healthy planet and a healthy mind, and the small, meaningful actions we can take to help slow the climate crisis, and foster healing for the Earth... and therefore ourselves. Today I'm speaking with Sarah Lawrance, Founder & CEO of Hot Toast. In this episode, we talk about . . . - Sarah Lawrance shares her journey from childhood fascination with business to becoming a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and founding her firm Hot Toast - Lawrance discusses her formative career experiences in Australia, London and fast-growth startups, and the inspiration for starting her own business - Sarah describes her role as a CFO for rapidly growing businesses, helping clients scale through advisory services, reporting, and finance team development - Sarah integrates technologies like G-Accon and SYFT to deliver data insights, and sees opportunities in AI and machine learning "I'm a big fan of G-Accon. I really love that tool. It's such a beautiful little connector that we pull lots of data out. We use it with Google Sheets. The creatives love Google Sheets, and they love zeros. So to be able to just link those two up and then kind of manipulate those into our own kind of models is a massive win for us." - When she could not find an age appropriate soccer club, she started her own women's soccer team. The team has since expanded to over 100 members in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.- Frustrated by a lack of female board opportunities she co-founded the Global Women's Accounting Influencers community - The conversation covers mentoring the next generation, leveraging networks, and the power of community in the accounting industry Contact details: Sarah Lawrance https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarah-lawrance-fcpa-83894516/ Hot Toast : https://hottoast.com.au/ Accounting Apps newsletter: http://HeatherSmithAU.COM Accounting Apps Mastermind: https://www.facebook.com/groups/XeroMasterMind LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/HeatherSmithAU/ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/ANISEConsulting X: https://twitter.com/HeatherSmithAU

Who'd have thought it? Back in 2019 when two fresh(ish) faced, young(ish) podcasters headed off to South London for their first recording, armed with all the gear and little to no idea, that they'd be hitting the 100th episode mark and still be going!! No one? Thanks a bunch….So here it is, episode 100 and for this special edition Seb and Verity are joined by multi-instrumentalist legend and dear friend Hannah Lawrance. Hannah stipulated from early days that she would only come onto the pod if she was asking the questions…..with that in mind, we've collected various former TIAB guests to put questions to Seb and Verity via Hannah, whilst they have sneakily turned the tables back on her too, mwah ha ha!Warning; this episode features some serious belting along with reminiscences of early meetings, past episodes and cringe worthy experiences. There are contributions from loads of TIAB favourites and a message from some guy who's profile was significantly raised by appearing on this podcast….You are welcome Mr Brydon.Thank you dear listeners for your continued support and bring on the next 100 eps, woo hoo!You can follow Three In a Bar on Instagram @threeinabarpodhttps://www.instagram.com/threeinabarpod/We are on Twitter @threeinabarpod https://www.twitter.com/threeinabarpodAnything you'd like to share with us? John Fucking Wick! Get this man a gun! And the title of best action franchise in maybe the last 10 years. John Fucking Wick I don't even know if this episode will give justice to how fucking fantastic this film is. And absolutely this is me riding the fuck out of this film Starring Kenu Revees, Lawrance fishburn, Ian Mcshane, Donnie Yen and so many many more. Directed by Chad Stahelski in what may be one of the best action direct movies in a long time that used little to no CGI, killing it with this film. Alvin Jess and Jariel are here so we can all talk about John Wick 4.
Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles! Drake and Dave continue the way-too-early position previews - this time with the running backs - and entertain the question of whether Trey Benson will be Florida State's first 1,000 yard rusher since Dalvin Cook! With Treshaun Ward departed through the transfer portal to Kansas State, the running back room clearly belongs to breakout star Trey Benson, whose 2022 campaign was single-digit yards short of the 1,000 rushing yard mark. With Benson (perhaps surprisingly) electing to forego the NFL Draft and return for another season, expectations are through the roof for both Benson and the Florida State running game, which was already among the best in the country in 2022. Benson's average of more than 4.5 yards after contact per carry brings a punishing running style, complimented by change-of-pace backs Lawrence Toafili and Rodney Hill, who are poised to see an uptick in carries following Ward's departure. Also in the mix for carries is the oft-forgotten Cazaiah Holmes, who brings enormous talent and potential (Holmes was a blue chip recruit that Penn State was very excited about), a full season in the system on the scout team, and a bigger body similar to that of Benson and capable of withstanding down-to-down contact. Walk-on CJ Campbell also figures to receive some carries after repeated impressive practice performances over the course of the 2022 season materialized into playing time and two touchdowns. With that in mind, Drake and Dave assess the expectations and performance of the running back room in 2022, how they expect the Seminoles' rushing attack to perform in 2023, and which player(s) will be the wild card for Florida State to maximize its offense next season. Christmas is coming, folks, and that means that the Empire Podcast's sack is simply heaving with guests this week. First, Toy Story 3 and Coco director, Lee Unkrich, pops into the booth for a bit to talk about his new, definitive book about the making of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, and tackle this week's listener question (about Christmas songs in movies). Then Chris Hewitt chats with Resurrection star Rebecca Hall and Emancipation director Antoine Fuqua, and Amon Warmann gets to the heart of The Silent Twins' silent twins, Letitia Wright and Tamara Lawrance. And yes, he asks about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Then, in the podbooth, Chris is joined by Helen O'Hara and James Dyer to talk about the week's movie news, including the possible demise of Wonder Woman 3, and review Emancipation, Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and Resurrection. Bumper-sized! Jampacked! Ho ho ho! Enjoy!
